Best hair cut I think they have ever had in their lives. Allison was so attentive and careful asking about any requirements or issues they had. “I had a vet appointment for one if mt kittens, so I got on the bus to hollingbury. The vet was very kind, considerate and professional. I am based with their service. I also bought some trea5s for the kittens, while I was waiting. The shop has a large variety of products for dogs, cats, rabbits, and aquarium fish.”

“My bunnies love their holidays with Ginette. The clean, spacious accommodation is set up to keep the buns stimulated and they are so well taken care of. Ginette provides you with regular updates and photos. Hopper and Stripes are always happy and relaxed when they return from a visit at Applewood.”

“One of our cats, Pop, was poorly over the Bank Holiday. Our usual vet was closed but forwarded us to New Priory Vets. The team there was very helpful. Roz the vet gave Pop an injection and emailed his file to our vet so we can follow up. We were very happy with the help our furbaby received and would highly recommend this vet.”

“2ND UPDATE As always, imogen is the only person that Paco will allow to do his toenails, he is abit of a fairy lol. Always receive 5 star service from crossways. Over the many years of owning pets I have used many different vets but not one comes close to Crossways over last 15 years. I would never use another vet surgery. They truly care about ensuring their clients and the owners are getting the right information specific to their pet. My last bull terrier, Angel, had several strokes before getting dementia, and the only reason Angel continued to have such a great quality of life was down to Imogen and the work she put in ensuring everything was right. When Angel was almost 15 years old, we had to make that decision to put her to sleep, and imogen was there to do it as she always was, and even wrote a little tribute to Angel on the blue-cross rememberance page. We received very personal handwritten cards from Imogen, Chris and Maxine which we keep next to Angels ashes. After losing Angel we rescued another bully Xena, and she too will always be treated by Crossways, and they always go above and beyond. We took Xena in just other day as she was poorly, so I asked the vet if they would also do blood tests just to make sure everything was OK for my own piece of mind. Turned out her red blood cells were very high, but she is now back to normal. So Crossways don't treat owners like we are over the top, they are so understanding. As Xena is getting more and more stressed out with having toe nail clips now, I requested that she is sedated for her next clip, because of the state she gets into and they immediately agreed this would be better for Xena. If you have questions, they are always happy to provide info. So, Crossways for me are the best around. UPDATE1 Sadly we lost princess xena in jan 2024, on 26th March 2023. Dan gave our 2 new 4 year old bullies a full checkup as we had just picked them up from their first home and provided us with lots of options for their skin allergies. Fantastic service as always. “Love this place! It’s huge which means loads of choice for natural healthy dog treats and a large selection of nature’s menu frozen food which is good. I have yet to notice a brand sold by one of the larger pet chains that isn’t here and it’s all well priced too. Staff are also really nice. Only complaint would be all the dog snacks by the till, I’m like a kid at the corner shop, by the time they’ve finished ringing through what I picked up in the shop, I’ve added several more items from their till side selection!”

“My gsd Loki went to Portland east Grinstead for surgery, he was neutered and had a gastropexy done. All the staff were lovely and understood my boys needs. I was updated when he went into surgery and that he had settled on the ward before hand. I had updates throughout his surgery they all were very understanding that I was worried about him. After recovery I got a lovely picture and a call to say he was doing well and a pick up time was arranged. The nurse was lovely who explained everything I had to do with him for his aftercare she also came to help my 51kg gsd into the car with me so he wasn’t jumping up. Honestly was the best experiences I’ve had. I’ve had follow up calls and messages to make sure he’s recovering ok too. Highly recommend Portland vets.”

“We were struggling to find our pup’s vet prescribed food anywhere in the country and not only did A Coombs have it in stock (their website has a very good availability indicator), it was priced competitively and they shipped it out post haste in fantastic packaging (vastly superior to Pets At Home). The team were responsive by email as we were so unsure they would actually have it in stock but indeed they did. A wonderful team and far better than the big chain stores. We’ll be using them again for sure!”

“A great selection of items to buy, i was looking for treats for our 2 dogs as well as my daughters hamster and was able to find and buy what i needed. The store was bright and clean and the staff member on the checkout checked if i needed any assistance and then left me to browse. The staff member was friendly and welcoming when i came to pay for my items. I will definitely return.”

“Not only the best experience at a pet store, but possibly the best customer service experience I've ever received. I recently moved to the area and have been visiting this store for all of my dogs needs. Every time I visit the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They remember me and my pet, as well as his needs and use that knowledge to make well informed recommendations. I must say, it is a joy going in every time. They always seem genuinely happy to see me and my dog and it's very clear they have a deep love for animals. My dog doesn't like being touched on his behind and one of the staff even sat with me and my dog and showed me some training exercises to help combat that. I can't recommend this place enough, if you are in the area, please pay these guys a visit.”

“I am so grateful to this practice for all the fantastic care and attention they have given to my cat, especially over the last 18months since she was diagnosed with 2 critical illnesses. I always knew they were good from our annual vet check ups and occasional visits following the odd cat fight! However, since her diagnoses last year the staff have been absolutely brilliant - both with our cat and with us. Every member of staff has been extremely friendly, professional, knowledgable, honest and so very caring. It's been a long journey already but 18 months on and our lovely little cat is back to her playful, mischievous self and in the best health for a while. Whilst that may not last forever, I know she is in the best possible care with the team at Southdown. I cannot recommend them highly enough!”

“Zoe did a wonderful job of Dougal's cut. He can be aggressive when nervous but she handled him expertly and I can honestly say it's the best cut he has ever had. A bit pricey at £55 but I have to say worth, every penny.”
