“Great little store. Very helpful staff and they usually have stock of the items that you want. Staff also very good and help with a "have you got a thing that does this?" type queries.”
“A true gem of a market. Small, but I picked up the most divine chilli oil & glorious gluten free & vegan deserts which were so delicious! Highly recommend this market.”
“Very helpful whilst we picked up our Christmas order today.”
“Lovely shop and incredible to find Keto and paleo items - this made my day! Great range of real fermented kimchi, too. Vegetables were good quality and staff friendly.”
“Fantastic shop, stocks all sorts from sauces and oils to rice to frozen dimsum to spices to fresh tofu and greens, as well as snacks, drinks and some more interesting ingredients. My go-to whenever I need a top-up or a fun new ingredient.”
“This is my favourite restaurant in town. I especially love the generously filled bahn mi, the Laos minced pork dish, the Northern Thai specials (make sure you check the little board behind the server), the pork broths and the green papaya salad. We're so lucky to have this on our doorstep”
“Love this shop, it has helped me out many many times”
“Good food stuff for African party. I like buying my Yam and iced fish... I will recommend Daratic World Mart”
“Superb deli and the friendliest people behind the counter - cannot fault the range on offer. If only there were more delis and sandwich places like this instead of soulless same-old chains. If you're in or going near Lewes, I strongly recommend you stop in.”
“The superstore is just across the road. A car park is so big it could be utilised a bit more. Maybe the shopping centres can come together and hold a Saturday or Sunday market. This would really help the community as we do not have anything like that apart from the Sunday market down at the marina or at the racecourseapart from that LD is The go to supermarket not just for the budget conscience but for those middle class, spend it as well quality quantity and your saving a few pennies I go there for the shopping and come back with the suite Lots of savings to be had and enjoy the middle while”
“I reviewed Londis previously and had only just started shopping there but now I go in quite regularly and the service is always great. The shop is well stocked and usually there are 2 tills open so less queueing. It is very popular. Yes the prices are a little bit higher but it is a convenience store for your convenience! It sells lottery tickets and Health Lottery too.”
“This ALDI is absolutely fantastic, always well stocked and tidy. Sam on the Self-Checkouts was fantastic yesterday, he really went the extra mile and helped us out.”
“Lovely little shop always clean and stocked up staff are really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend”
“Friendly staff and good prices always our local shop :)”
“This shop is so good all the food is nice and shout out to Yahya”
“Great family run store that has been going for more than 25 years! Always friendly and a good range of products.”
“This is a pretty decent Sainsburys. It's been jazzed up to a more modern look in the last year or so, but it's still a steadfast part of the Lewes Road area. Walk in or drive in. Parking is almost always available, and there's the Argos inside at the entrance like it's own little shop.”
“Lots of friendly assistance and advice when I was asking for something specific, and very happy with my purchases! Will visit again”
“Popped in to look at a SIM only deal for my partner and teenage boy. The salesperson was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout and understood my garbled request perfectly. She also did not attempt to sell me something I didn't need. I only wish all sales experiences was as streamlined as this and I'll certainly be switching my SIM only deal to Tesco Mobile when my current deal expires. Thank you.”
“I was here on 05/06/23. My husband bought petrol, then we went to an appointment. After the appointment, I had notifications from my bank saying hundreds of pounds had gone out instead of the correct amount. HOWEVER, this did turn out to be a glitch in the banking app, which I did not find out until much later. I just want to clarify that. At the time, I was instantly in a state of worry, and started having an anxiety attack. We returned to the petrol station to tell them about the sudden influx of notifications about money leaving the account, and asked if they could check for us whether the pay at pump had glitched, or if the issue was my bank. I would like to give credit to the people working that day, for being swift in their response, and patient with me as I tried to explain what was going on, and my concerns. They took our details, and contacted us within half an hour of us being there. Everything did work out in the end, and I greatly appreciated the reassurance they were able to give me that the pump had not taken the additional amounts of money, which my bank glitch wrongly showed as being absent. (For further context for those unaware: The pay at pump auto charges the max amount, then auto refunds once payment is made for the actual amount. My bank glitch decided to do this three times over, but didn't show the amount as having returned until today.) In all, I would highly rate the customer service and support of this petrol station. Thank you for helping me on a very difficult day.”
“My hunger went on strike after visiting here.”
“My parents opened this shop in the mid 1950’s and we lived in the flat above, no.3. All of my childhood memories revolve around here up until I was 10 years old. The store’s name then was A&J Pickerill, we didn’t have a car and my mum would walk with deliveries every lunchtime to customers. My father was able to start the business thanks to a loan from Sir Frank Sanderson who lived in the Manor House down the lane (now converted to flats) where he is buried in the private family plot at the church. My father was chauffeur to Sir Frank before that. I believe the loan was £3,000 but I might be wrong. It was interest free and repaid within 3 years.”
“Great petrol, great selection of vapes and delectable onion rings with minimal staleness, scoffed them all in my car before I even got home !”
“Staff are friendly as always and helpful when looking for something specific, this shop has definitely improved over the last year. Proud for this store to be my local shop”
