“Couldn't speak more highly of this Dr Doolittle branch. Have been taking my Dachshund to them for coming up to two years and each visit is excellent. Fenella the Vet and Lucy support staff are just so kind and are happy to explain anything to you! A***”
“The bartender Eilir was amazing! We sat at the bar and we made up cocktails all night long, he handcrafted to our specifications. Would try again - amazing cocktails”
“Karolina has provided translation services for me on numerous occasions. Very prompt with replies and an extremley professional manner. Kept true to the timelines and the costs. Highly recommended.”
“A great place for refreshments on Penarth pier with good opening hours. Got a Cadbury's hot chocolate and some welsh cakes to take-out before walking back to the Cliff parade free car park. Chatted about the Downtown Penarth mountain bike race in 2007.”
“I have always loved Coffee #1, and believe it is the best chain around this area. I order a large caramel latté with extra caramel and an extra shot, and after 2 of those (I'm beginning number 2 as I write), I can't think straight anymore, my handwriting goes completely wonky, and I forget the way home. That's the sign of a potent brew. The taste is good, but I've had 99 doses of radiotherapy (yes, ninety-nine) on my throat area, so my taste buds are redolent of a bad night out in Mogadishu. The latté art is spot on, so I don't hold it against the (traditionally harassed) barista that he could only with great effort hold back a wince of distaste at my Philestinism when I said yes to his offer of a swirl of squirty caramel sauce on top of the accomplished rosette. I ran a coffee shop for a while, and I used to snarl at everyone even though my latté art was poop and I only knew how to make one type of drink, regardless of what was ordered. The atmosphere is lovely, and I'm here at 1pm on a Tuesday. It's gently buzzing and only disturbed by one SCREAMING baby, (too many ristretto, methinks). We look out onto the fairly dull Penarth main street; more stimulating to point your chair inwards - this cafe is surprisingly deep, with enough tables for me not to feel *too* guilty/awkward at taking up a potential 3 seater on my lonesome. (To be honest, with a stoma in your neck and an electric voice, you get away with pretty much anything anywhere anyway - never underestimate the power of sympathy/revulsion). The atmosphere is in fact so pleasant that although I only came in for a takeaway cup, I've ended up staying for 2 and a takeaway pecan/salted caramel brownie for my dear wife. Come to this cafe. I don't think you'll regret it”
“Very happy with the dental treatment friendly well trained staff with excellent results.”
“A wide selection of goods, priced to compete or out do some major supermarkets. Range of packet sizes. Staff pleasant and helpful. Clean and tidy shop.”
“Right. Everyone who is leaving 1 star reviews need to get a life! I shop here all the time and I have never had an issue. So do everyone a favour and cut the staff members some slack! Its not their fault if you cant take money off your nectar points and certainly not their fault if you leave your christmas shopping the last minute! They try their very best to make sure you get what you want and they don't need rude obnoxious people like you lot constantly bringing them down! They dont go to work to be harassed, to be constantly had a go at and be bullied! They are trying to do their jobs! So if for some reason you dont like it. Go and shop somewhere else! So if any staff member reads this. Don't let these reviews get to you. You're all great at your jobs!”
“One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every dish was immaculate and both the service and atmosphere were amazing.”
“Had a lovely brunch here a few weeks ago. Had a breakfast burrito and it was delicious. We came along quite close to closing time. They served us with quick service and were very friendly.”
“No rating for rooms as we just went in for breakfast/brunch. Great service, lovely Welsh breakfast. Sensibly priced, happy to recommend.”
“This is a wonderful venue, huge choice, excellent quality and good portions. Staff are so welcoming and always extremely friendly. Been coming here for many years and will continue to do so. Well worth a visit.”
“Really lovely, quiet little pub with decent food, well cooked and nicely presented. The lunch menu is also really good value. If we are passing though again we will definitely return.”
“Simply wonderful Called to sort out a basket of fruit - great customer service On collection, found a fantastic little shop with a great selection and fresh produce and goodies Highly recommended”
“Good Italian home style cooking. The mushroom starter was soft and wonderfully seasoned. The cod was flaky in a delicate sauce. The home made Tiramisu was literally a melt in the mouth miracle. We sat outside and the whole time a waiter was outside watching to see if anyone needed anything.”
“Lovely customer service with accurate updates on how long it would take. Food was delicious and had that old school takeaway feel, think guilty pleasure. The mixed starter for one came with two chicken balls, two prawn toast, two spring rolls and two ribs which is great for the price and easily spread further than one person. Couldn't fault it.”
“The cheese experience was a lovely way to whileaway 2 hours with wine and cheese. Recommended.”
“Loved it. It was the perfect place for a typical kitchen pantry in case you want to stock up on Indian groceries in the kitchen, be it spices, ready mix masala's, dry grains, rice, pulses, breakfast products such as Pohe, Suji/Rawa, Atta, canned or tinned food. such as Chawali, Kala chana, red chana, rajma, Chile etc. And moreover the fresh vegetables such as fresh turmeric, lemongrass, curry leaves, guava, whole coconut, pumpkin for sambar, dudhi, karela, drumsticks aka in Marathi Shevgyachya shenga, etc. For chaitime and snacktime, rusk.toast, khari, biscuits such as almost favourite of many people - Parle G, good day, maska chaska etc. Also The fresh butchers section which sells such as chicken lever, gizard/petha, drumsticks, leg pieces, lamb kheema, mutton kheema, chicken kheema and a huge variety of options in fresh meat. The beauty is you could buy it as per your requirements and need. I recommend this especially to the students, it's one stop solution for them to equipped the pantry for Indian groceries.”
“A perfect night great location staff food and atmosphere. Always a great place to eat out especially in the summer. Great sunset over the Welsh coast line”
“I have eaten here with family three times recently and it has been outstanding on every occasion. Their steak is cooked to absolute perfection and the service is exemplary. They also have a lovely attitude towards younger diners. I will return as often as l can.”
“We hired the artisan cook for our wedding this weekend and what an amazing job they did. They did fantastic at catering for everyone and nothing was too much trouble for them. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the pizzas provided as well as the warm welcome given by the staff. We would highly recommend them for hire”
“Always great service from the team at Fine Wines Direct. The shop and tasting room is a great place to browse and sample their great selection of wines. They also have a great selection of spirits. We recently attended their Christmas wine tasting event and it was a great evening with some brilliant wines purchased. Can't recommend enough!”
“First time for the Sunday lunch and it was so lovely. Staff were attentive and we were not rushed at all even though we had early booking. Always love the ambiance here. My fave place”
“Best full English in the Vale of Glamorgan for sure. Been a loyal customer for over a decade now but the past year they’ve really upped their game considerably - the full English comes with even higher quality ingredients now! Hash browns are spectacular. Service is fast. Well done guys, keep it up.”
“A great place to experience homemade, traditional African food. We had chicken wings, jollof rice with fried beef and the X Large grilled fish. All were fantastic but the fish was definitely the highlight.”
“Lovely hotel over looking the river Severn, the staff are welcoming and we even got offered a lift to the station from the owner. We stayed here as was far cheaper than Cardiff with Ed Sheeran in concert on and only a 15 minute train trip to the city centre. Yes we would definitely stay here again.”
“Very friendly staff and great homely little pub”
