βI had the pleasure of doing CBT, EMDR, and ACT with Paul for several months. I came to Paul in an emotional state, with a complex background of dysfunctional family, relationship difficulties, trauma and addiction. We worked together to improve the quality of my life, and teach me how I could approach life differently. Paul helped me to come to terms with being an Addict and was with me for my early days of recovery in 12 step fellowship, while we focused on targeting specific trauma. In the several months I went from avoiding my feelings, to accepting and being willing to feel my feelings. We got to the root of my issues and what was really going on and how my past linked together to build this net of survival tools. I would recommend Paul to anyone, his approach was factual, educational, personal, but not opinionated or demanding, or biased. He let me come to terms with things myself, and helped me to learn, and gave me exercises to help me look into things. Paul understood that changes comes from within, and understand that my emotions are what i experience, they do not have to become them. That it's acceptable, and healthy to feel my feelings. Thanks to Pauls help, I have been freed to live life, and function, I can take care of day to day things, and am excelling in my professional work life, and personal life. Very grateful for everything Pual has done for me.β

βI was having really bad tinnitus, and booked four sessions with Sarah-Jane. She was very warm and encouraging, and every hypno sessions was deeply relaxing. Sometimes I felt like I was floating! She also gave me a recorded session to listen to each day. My tinnitus improved a lot over the month, to the point where it hardly bothers me.β

β* Lifesaving MAOI Prescription * I would like to begin by stating that Dr Clarke-Walker did not ask for this review, I am writing it to simply express my utmost gratitude towards him and his practice for being the only psychiatrist that listened to me and understood the severity of my symptoms. I am a 29-year-old male and qualified lawyer who underwent an episode of severe depression following a job loss, the breakdown of a long-term relationship, and a lack of purpose. Before this, I did not know what anxiety or depression was but I likely suffered from both my whole life. This episode was unlike any other. I stopped looking after myself, I lost 15kg, and basic tasks were becoming difficult. I was slowly becoming bed bound. Before contacting Dr Clarke-Walker, I spent almost Β£10,000 trying to get the help that I desperately needed and went through several psychiatrists who brushed off my concerns, did not listen to what I was saying, and misdiagnosed me. I tried several medications with no success (some of which made me worse). I read about MAOIs on the internet and subscribed to this forum and began to research their effectiveness. However, obtaining a psychiatrist who understood how effective they were let alone prescribe them was almost impossible. Dr Clarke-Walker was then recommended to me. From my initial consultation, it was evident that he possessed extensive knowledge of psychiatric medications and an empathetic approach. He is the only psychiatrist that listened (and did not simply talk at me and tell me what was wrong), recognised the severity of my situation, and was willing to prescribe whatever it took to get me better. During the initial 2-hour consultation, we discussed all my symptoms and we both agreed that I had Major Depressive Disorder. He, thankfully, proposed an MAOI as a potential solution. I expressed my desire to be prescribed Parnate, however, he suggested that we start with Nardil. I was convinced then that anxiety was not an issue although it has become apparent to me that it is, and he was able to recognise that. That level of guidance and willingness goes a long way when you are in such a dark place. All I ever wanted was hope, guidance, and a willingness to prescribe different medications if the current one was not working. It is no exaggeration to say that he has likely saved my life. His expertise in prescribing MAOIs was a turning point in my journey towards mental well-being. Since starting the medication, I have experienced a significant improvement in my overall mood and a noticeable reduction in the severity and frequency of depressive episodes. The impact on my quality of life has been nothing short of transformative. I still have my issues and fatigue can be a little problematic but this pales in comparison to where I was 6 months ago. I did not want to leave the house. I have decided to continue with follow-up appointments even though I am better as I trust him to monitor my progress, adjust the dosage/medication if necessary, and address my concerns or side effects. I still feel some residual anger towards the NHS and the profession as MAOIs are essentially disregarded when, in my opinion, they have been far safer than emotionally numbing/demotivating SSRIs. On Nardil, I feel like myself with the anxiety and depression lifted. I highly recommend Dr Clarke-Walker to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate physiatrist who goes above and beyond to provide life-changing care.β
