The lovely Emma hosted us and her knowledge of wines and the process of wine production was so interesting- we also tried (and were converted to) some wines we had never thought of or heard of! “I recently revisited Bistrot Pierre after a long time and decided to try their Soirée Gastronomique evening, a six-course dining experience priced at just £26.95—an incredible value for money. As it was my birthday, I had signed up for Club Bistrot Pierre, which gifted me a free bottle of wine. We opted for the red, and it was a lovely addition to the meal. On top of that, the app offered a free bread side, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, hot, and paired with amazing butter that melted perfectly. The six courses were well-paced and thoughtfully curated. My favourite dish was the Camembert cheese with bread—rich, gooey, and indulgent. The full menu for the evening included: 1. Vegetable tortellini – A light yet flavourful start. 2. Baked Camembert – Absolute perfection with the bread. 3. Cod with potatoes – Cooked beautifully, simple yet satisfying. 4. Eton Mess-inspired dessert – Sweet, airy, and refreshing. 5. Cheese board – A well-balanced selection of cheeses. 6. Hot drink – A comforting end to a great meal (I didn’t take a photo of the tea) For the quality and variety of food, £26.95 per person felt like an absolute bargain. The service could have been faster, but it was super busy! The overall experience was fantastic, from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu. I’d highly recommend this evening for anyone looking to enjoy a tasting-style dining experience at a great price. Looking forward to visiting again!”

Ordered from a lot of other places before which has never really gave me the wow factor but this place is best of the best. Black pudding is to die for, I could eat a plate full of it. “Having a strong recommendation from friends for this restaurant which give us no regrets, although is a bit far from where we live but it's really worth it. They do the all you can eat buffet menu which is a bit different from Wing Wah or Cosmo that you need to go to pick your food from the warmer, foods will get dry for a period of time, but in this restaurant, you pick what you want from the menu then the chef will cook it fresh and the waitress will bring it to your table, that is totally awesome​, you pay about the same price per head but getting so much joy while you eat, meats are so tender and tasty, we have enjoyed every bit of it, I like to say thanks to all the staffs from River Garden Restaurant in Belper. We have already booked a table on Father's day, so see you soon.”

“Shocked at the prices for national trust food. Very reasonable and well worth it for the quality alone. Good size portion and well presented. Faultless service and all this in the house's old kitchen complete with copper pans on the wall and a large open fireplace.”

“I don;t often do reviews but this was such a good find. Needed a central point with parking for the girls meet up - always hard to find somewhere central to us all. The cocktails and waffles were amazing! There was a huge choice and all cooked fresh to order (they smelt out of this world). All accompanied with a couple of cocktails. I'm probably going to try Sunday lunch here next time - it's one of those places that I think will become a favourite for loads of occasions!”
