“I had a phenomenal experience here last week! Popped in for brunch on a Sunday and the service was truly amazing. A lovely guy called Alfie looked after us. I was enquiring about any vegan options and Alfie was so patient and kind, he went out of his way to arrange for the vegetarian breakfast to be made vegan. I asked if it was possible to turn the music down upstairs as I have hearing loss and expected it to be a bit of a hassle, Alfie was an angel and acted like it was no big deal at all and very quickly resolved this. Alfie was just the most friendly, sweet and helpful guy, nothing was too much trouble for him to help us with, and he came across as a really genuine person that takes the time to treat all customers like they're friends, he created such a welcoming vibe and I felt really at ease even though I'm a bit awkward with my hearing! It was the best service I've had in a long time, and if Alfie isn't a manager he definitely deserves a raise, he made us want to come back again and again. The only slight suggestion I have, separate to anything practical, is for the menu to outline vegan options. I used to come in many years ago and they always had vegan options noted on the menu. There wasn't anything stated as vegan on the menu and the veggie breakfast had to be modified rather than being able to order a vegan breakfast. If I hadn't been planning to meet my friend there I might have been put off and assumed vegans weren't really provided for. It would go a long way just having a few options on the menu or noting what is vegan. Simple stuff like a vegan fry up (hash browns, beans, tomatoes, toast with vegan margarine, mushrooms, vegan sausages), avocado on toast, beans on toast. Regardless, we'd definitely be back as it was the best service we've had in Hull! Thanks Alfie. You're a legend.”

“Just had the Big Fella breakfast. Lovely, well cooked, eggs perfect and fried bread that was just as I'd asked! Great price and polite welcoming lady serving.”

“Great little cafe located on newbridge road, stafc are very friendly and the cafe has am upto date modern look throughout. Prices are very fair and the menu is what you can expect of a cafe. Food is nice too even I ordered bit h a bacon butty and a large breakfast and both was made quite quickly and tasted great. Would recommend a visit. Also do telephone orders for businesses. Will try again within the month to update the review.”

“It is a great place to meet up before a lecture or a study session. You can get pizza, hot sandwiches, salads, and brownies alongside other sweet treats and prepackaged sandwiches. Of course, there are various options of coffee from the Costa side and cheaper self-serve options, with various hot drinks to choose from.”

“Superb place with a quirky interior and excellent location situated on the marina. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast offer was good and our choice of avocado toast and a breakfast sarnie was very tasty. Definitely recommend.”

“Typical oldie worldy pub holds lots of memories of what it used to be like. But its cheap and the staff are lovely, never a queue and the karaoke is great entertainment. Super old school and classics. Me and the other half had a great relax, booze and a seat boogie”

Outstanding entertainment Dale is the best compare I've ever seen and Maggie is so lovely you feel part of the family that's Maggie for you. Then there's Katie so funny but very attentive i adore this ACE pub from the traditional decor to the warm staff not to mention the entertainment and Awsome music it has everything you need for that fab night out. “Top New Year's Eve venue - for atmosphere, door & bar staff, music, dancing & drinks. Went with friends and made more. We didn't have a meal hence no stars there. Shots were pretty good though!”

“Fast Friendly service all the staff are so welcoming also dog friendly I would recommend the salt and pepper chicken wrap and the Mexican nachos have a range of craft beers and beers I tried the damn lemon that was glorious”

“I just dropped in on Friday night, after a gig. The people could not have been more welcoming. So much so that me, my girlfriend and the dog spent a lively Saturday night there. Simple, proper, honest pub with a great atmosphere.”

“What a fab events bar! We booked it for a children's party and it was perfect. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. Plenty of room for the entertainment and dancing. The food was laid out in a separate adjoining area which was really useful. Very easy to book and reasonably priced too!”

“Just returned from this lovely restaurant. 10 ladies looking for somewhere to eat around the area, and a doorman recommended it to us. We were seated downstairs while they set our table up. Ordered numerous starters and mains between us, and everything was absolutely amazing. I personally had the scallops (cooked to perfection) and the wagu burger, which was 1 of the best burgers I've ever had. The staff were fantastic. Brilliant service, nothing was too much for them. Very accommodating. Brilliant atmosphere. Thank you all for a great evening.”

“Three of us booked for the Christmas dinner and Bingo on 18 th Dec . It was due to start 6,30 but we arrived around an hour earlier to have a drink . It was not a problem at all , we got seated by Rosie straight away . Heads up to everyone who worked very hard for us all to have a fabulous time . I love gammon , so Ben carved up the gammon for me and there was a choice of sprouts parsnips, roast potatoes ,carrots ,peas and mash .Oh and don't forget the delicious Yorkies all smothered in lovely gravy . I must say everyone worked very hard including Ellie, Paige ,Alex , Rosie ,Ben ... So sorry if I missed anyone out ! Bingo was great fun in between the main course and the lovely Xmas Pud for dessert. Would recommend to anyone as the best carvery and staff in Hull. “Nobody beats them, my lord. Always the most mouth watering breakfast sandwiches at the most insanely affordable price. I came in today feeling a little rough (hangover, what can ya do!) and the service was both accommodating to that and delivered the greatest sausage and egg sandwich on Planet Earth - I can assure you that's somehow not hyperbole. Always the first place I run to before work on a morning!”

“This little Vietnamese restaurant is not pretentious and not over priced. The food is authentic and excellent. The restaurant is clean and the staff really are genuinely friendly. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with a wonderful welcoming smile from the young lady. The service was wonderful and she was so helpful. What we liked most of all, is that you can watch the food you are about to eat being prepared and cooked through the glass screen. As we left all the staff wished us well and we hope to return one more time before we return to London. If we could give this restaurant ten stars we would. This restaurant is a jewel in Hull!”

“I recently visited Ponto Lounge ahead of a visit to Hull New Theatre. I have visited a number of the ‘Lounges’ and have found the dining experience to be consistently great; Ponto was no exception. Staff were welcoming and professional. I have rated the service as average as with QR code ordering and payment you are more or less serving yourself with the exception of the drinks and food being brought to table. The food arrived quickly after ordering despite the restaurant seeming pretty busy and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was warm and cosy with just the right around of atmospheric lighting (not too dark like other places trying to achieve a similar vibe). I highly recommend Ponto Lounge to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Hull.”

“Party of four, we had a chicken burger, beef brisket, pizza, and the meat platter, with a side of loaded fries and nachos. Everything was well cooked, the brisket just fell apart in your mouth the burnt ends melted, the chicken burger was crispy and full of flavour. The pizza was nice and thin, if a little burnt on the edges, but it was still great. Staff were good, and in a surprising change, they didn't keep coming to the table disrupting you while eating. Although it was difficult to get their attention when we wanted drinks. It was quiet when we visited but it had a nice chilled atmosphere, the cost was about £35 a person with drinks which we don't think is bad for the food quality. We will definitely be revisiting in the future.”

“Great local Reggae Rum bar & restaurant. Serving great delicious jerk Carribbean dishes . Every plate a mouth watering delight . Great selection of Beers wines and fab cocktail menu. Mixed in a funky vibrant setting on Newland Avenue. A must if you're in the area.”

“Nice little place, eat in or take away.. I had the bacon and sausage sandwich. Was really tasty. Others had chip butties and said they were lovely. It was quiet when we 1st went in but got busier as time went on. Toilets are upstairs so no good for people with mobility issues.”
