“It is not easy to put into words the gratitude my family and I feel for the care given by all the staff at Birkley care home. My mother suffered for many years with Alzima and sadly lost the love of her life in November 2018 leaving mum alone and confused. For a number of years we cared for her at home but following a hospitalisation she was referred to Birkley care home for recuperation and all this was only for a short period the care she got was second to none. Some time later following more hospitalisation she was placed into a different care home and this was not to the high standard that we had experienced at Birkley care home. She was then moved to another care home and sadly that care still did not match Birkley care home so when a place came available at Birkley we grasped the opportunity straight away and what a difference it made to mum and all of our family. The care and attention to mum needs was brilliant and considering the staffing problems that this industry works under the staff were fantastic. All of my family want to give the biggest possible thank you to all of the staff but in particular those that saw to my mums needs on a daily basis. John Fallowfield”

“12/2/23 We came here for my wife to collect her new prescription spectacles. We decided to get some food from The Kitchen but sadly there was little choice. We ended up with pizza, chips and soup complete with cold diet drinks. We managed to park in a disabled space near the front doors and of course I displayed my blue badge. It wasn't too busy, most customers were collecting odd items instead of a weekly shop. The weather was pleasant for a February day, no rain and a gentle breeze.”
