“I had a fantastic hair cut today by Sam the new Barber. I travel from the other side of Bradford to have my haircut at Tyrone’s place and it is a fantastic place to have a chat and get some great advice on styling your hair. Five star setup. Well done guys.”
“Visited here beginning of June with my sisters, no need to book. We had the most brilliant experience. Really relaxing atmosphere, all age groups and different size groups. The staff are really friendly and explain the different painting techniques well. Will definitely visit again.”
“My mum and I travelled from Spain to see Gary Oldman in YTR's production of Krapp's Last Tape and we had the loveliest time. We were fortunate enough to attend three performances this week and everyone from Gisele & Gary to everybody working at YTR were the kindest every time. Since I live abroad I thought I might have difficulties to purchase tickets and pre-order merch but everyone at box office were incredibly helpful and made the process very very easy. It's an experience we'll never ever forget and I'm so thankful to YTR for making it happen. I strongly recommend visiting if you have a chance. Lovely theatre with lovely staff & crew.”
“Can't fault attention to detail with regard to customer requirements in this friendly and welcoming hairdresser. From initial consultation re colouring (and all the nuances involved, reigning in where required with helpful suggestions) and then styling, the staff are experts in their areas and I always leave with a bounce in my step.”
“I joined here from Bootham in class 4 and they made such a positive change to my life and education, giving me lasting memories, unique experience and friendships as well as a solid education. Covering things from the basics like maths, English and science to a wide coverage of history, religion and practical things such as woodworking. I never felt stressed or pressured and always felt I had someone to talk to and I was always noticed. And I cannot recommend it enough.”
“Lovely little quirky cafe, called in with husband and daughter on a Sunday afternoon. Food was really nice, myself and my husband ordered cheese and ham toasties with chutney, lovely thick slices of proper ham and thick slices of cheese. Our daughter ordered halloumi, avocado and hot honey bagel which she said was lovely. On the way out we spotted the cake counter and couldn't pass it by without taking a piece home. That too was delicious. We will definitely visit again when in the area.”
“Hands down THE BEST place to get tattooed! Never felt more comfortable somewhere, the team are incredible. Josh has done nearly all of my tattoos and i couldnt be happier. The work here is 10/10, 10/10 staff, 10/10 banter!”
“Absolutely love this venue. A hidden gem in York which offers theatre goers an intimate experience. The setting allows you to really feel part of what is onstage. We loved our recent visit and will be back as soon as we are able!”
“This is my go to place for my self-care routine. All those who work there are absolutely lovely and really offer high-quality services. I go to Megan for my brows, and her work is so clean and just the best. I've had had a pedicure with Chloe who was very sweet and attentive, and gave me several tips for feetcare! And I've recently my nails done by Courtney and I absolutely love them! Really highly recommend this salon.”
“My second visit to York and I always come to Spring Espresso for breakfast/brunch. Their food is amazing and their service is top notch. :)”
“This hotel is a fantastic find with an unbeatable central location—just a 10-minute walk from the train station and directly opposite Betty’s Tea Rooms. My wife and I stayed for two nights and loved every moment. We received a call an hour before check-in to let us know our room was ready, and from the moment we entered, we were impressed by the décor and the warm welcome at reception. Our first night was in the Bank vault down in the basement which was a unique and memorable experience. The original vault door, stylish décor, large TV, strong WiFi, and great heating/air-con made the stay comfortable. We already knew about the quirks—like the open bathroom and occasional noise from above—so nothing came as a surprise. For the second night, we stayed in the Stella Solarium room with a private rooftop hot tub, and it was incredible. Spacious, beautifully decorated with original features, impressive views, and the hot tub pre-heated to 40°C. The hidden door leading to the Pink Bar was a fun touch too. Overall, this is a charming, character-filled hotel with plenty of personality. So if you're looking for a unique and quirky hotel with friendly staff you definitely won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended—10/10.”
