βBest barbers Iβve found in York. Great haircut - careful and unhurried. Fair prices. Lots of chat and plenty of laughs. Keep up the good work fellas.β
βMy daughter has attended York Stage School for over 3 years and absolutely loves it. The quality & talent of the teaching staff is brilliant and not only does she learn so much, it is also great for building her confidence and getting her to trying new things, sometimes out of her comfort zone. She recently attended the summer school/show in a week which was also fantastic - so well organised and the show too was brilliant. Would highly recommend to any parents of children considering performing arts classes.β
βMy children have been dancing with Kelly for many many years. They absolutely love their lessons and the community this dance school has given them. The shows Kelly puts on every two years are really stunning and a chance for the whole school to come together. Itβs beautiful to watch and we have wonderful memories as a family. Thank you so much for your passion and dedication Kelly.β
βGreat coaches, staff and a great learning environment for the kids. Always happy to help - certainly recommendβ
βGreat drama class. Really inclusive and everyone feels welcome. Caryn is really enthusiastic and really knows her students.β
βMy daughter joined Muddy Boots earlier in the year and we canβt praise the nursery and staff enough. Since joining the investigators room she has developed a great bond with the team in the room, especially her key person (Beth). They go over and above every day she is in and always keep in mind her interests. The app is great and itβs lovely to get pictures of her enjoying herself at nursery, especially after such a difficult year!β
βFroggy legs is a fantastic swimming school. They have taught both my children to swim. The teachers are kind and caring, making the children feel at ease in the water. It's so easy to book and see the progress using the online portal. Thank you, Susanne, for being so dedicated!β
βFabulous dance school. My daughter has been attending for 8 years since reception and loves it here. She's developed a love for dance and I'm blown away by what she is able to do thanks to the high standards of tuition. The shows the school puts on are unbelievable and show the talent of the students and its teachers. Lovely staff and a great cafe/waiting area too. Thoroughly recommend.β
βI joined here from Bootham in class 4 and they made such a positive change to my life and education, giving me lasting memories, unique experience and friendships as well as a solid education. Covering things from the basics like maths, English and science to a wide coverage of history, religion and practical things such as woodworking. I never felt stressed or pressured and always felt I had someone to talk to and I was always noticed. And I cannot recommend it enough.β
βThe team have been absolutely brilliant with L from day 1 in this room, and we are really sad he will be moving rooms shortly as we trust that nothing is ever forgotten. So much time and focus was put into helping him walk, especially by Jessie, and the fact he is so happy every day is definitely down to this relationship. It's amazing to also see that standards never drop on Jessie's day off and L adores all of the team. There's no better feeling than picking him up from nursery and hearing his laughter down the hall.β
βMy daughter joined York Dance Space in September 2020 and has never been so enthusiastic about regularly attending anything as much as she is about YDS. The nurturing support and enthusiastic encouragement she has received from all her teachers has helped to build confidence and form such positive relationships with staff and students alike. This has inspired her creativity, and she has loved participating in the shows and events that YDS organises, as well as wider events in which they're involved. What an amazing place Hannah and Drew have created - they should feel really proud of what they've achieved. Thank you!β
βAs parents we find Bootham School brimming with many qualities, there is a calming atmosphere punctuated with a strong sense of purpose,- forming a perfect baseline to facilitate learning and self confidence. "Adventurous & Liberating" is the School mantra. Our two children have made some wonderful friends and from starting Bootham in year seven, have never looked back. The teaching staff are supportive and motivating. The activities after 1600 hrs add another dimension to the learning and development of children, giving them a taste of things they (and we) would probably never think of in the fast paced world in which we live. Finally, the food is consistently of the highest quality and the children (& us on Saturdays),look forward to every meal !β
βMy child has had a fantastic couple of years at Drama Kids. The teachers bring so much energy to the classes and there is a huge focus on the kids being involved in ideas and dialogue. My childβs teacher says she can see the confidence the classes have given, as she has no problems with public speaking. The end of term has a production, which is fantastic to watch. Highly recommend these classes to anyone interested in a drama class for lower primary onwards.β
βA fantastic and inclusive school of performing arts, brilliant staff, understanding of children with additional needs. Highly recommended!β
βWe booked Stu for a child's birthday party and can not recommend him highly enough. He kept 20 children (& a few extra adults keen to have a go) engaged for 2 hours patiently showing them a variety of different circus skills appropriate to their age so they felt they could really have a go at mastering them. Feed back from children and parents alike after the party was overwhelmingly positive. In fact one child said it was the "best party they had ever been to".β
βAmazing school the studies are excellent and the beauty of the school is insane...β
βMrs Cornhill by far is one of the best teachers and head of school asset anyone could wish for their childβs education She leads her team of teachers striving for an outstanding school which she has and is constantly encouraging new innovative methods of teaching and providing a dynamic learning environment for the pupils She has a thorough understanding of behaviour and each individual child in a none judgemental attitude towards all who attend I can only think that any poor reviews on this site have been written to cause distress and not factual and one of them in very ignorant poor taste which is a disgrace Please anyone interested in choosing this school do so with the utmost confidence do not be taken in by mischief makers Grandmaβ
βAmazing drama school with teachers who go over and above. Highly recommendβ
βThe BEST school EVER it has the nicest teachers and everyone is kind and friendly!!!!β
βFabulous childcare provider, genuinely caring and considerate to my childβs needs. Iβm 100% happy with everything the club providesβ
βGave me so many good memories and made me feel welcomeβ
βFantastic and inspirational dance teacher!β
βMy daughter has been at Razz York for 6 years now and loves every minute of it. Hollie and Angela ensure that the teachers are skilled and provide a good range of dance, drama and singing. She was lucky enough to go to London with the school and perform at the Shaftesbury Theatre, all organised by the school. The performance was amazing thanks to the team of teachers and especially Jayden who did a lot of the choreography work. We would definitely recommend the school which has the right level of formality putting the children at ease but keeping them focused. There is a real sense of family within the school, with the students teachers and even parents.β
βGreat courses. Definitely recommend.. I now have a small business due to their support and their coursesβ
βFriendly, small school, open to all. Good staff. Very happy.β
