“Was in Ossett to have a tattoo at Ashes Rise Tattoo Studio and was advised to have a substantial meal prior to the tattoo, so this being a 2 minute stroll away I chose here. Glad I did, lovely cosy cafe, all staff smiling and helpful. Ordered a large breakfast and large it definitely was too. Proper butchers sausages, nice thick bacon. Everything was lovely, was definitely substantial as I couldn't finish it lol. Definitely come again prior to next tattoo, or even if visiting Ossett.”

“Cracking old worldy pub, rustic decor, open coal burners and the most important beautiful real ales (all OSSETT brewery) + a few of the normal largers, Guinness etc to keep the youngn's happy. And chirpy locals. I'll be coming back”

“Well, what can I say about this place. Nothing as there are no words that can describe it. No.seriously. :-) The food is outstanding, and the service is second to none from the minute you walk through the door until you leave. I left SA 31 years ago and have struggled to find anywhere that can cook a steak like I get there until now. The photos don't do this place justice. 12/10”

“Great independent coffee place in the heart of Ossett town. The hot chocolate was chocolatey (I know it sounds daft but unfortunately not many places get it right!), delicious and was just the right amount of sweet. They have a large selection of cakes as well if required.”

Also has a nice little beer garden that’s brilliant for the summer. Great prices and a good location with easy accessible parking and lovely friendly staff. Me and my friends love it here and don’t mind the travel as we live on the other side of town but it’s well worth it! Brilliant pub. :)”

“This is a fantastic country pub with friendly staff, the regular clientele really make you feel welcome, it's got a good range of popular drinks, and a really nice pint of Guinness, It's situated in the centre of Gawthorp, with plenty of good walks and views of the countryside, it's got plenty of history and nature too, also a small beer garden out back with a kids area, that is perfect for the summer evening's, And a stone's throw away from the M1, did I also mention the amazing home cooked meals done as you request it, All in this place is a big yes from me,”

“Lovely breakfast buffet. None of the cheap ingredients that you usually get on a buffet, all proper stuff and very tasty. Have as much or as little as you want for £7.99. Unlimited refills on tea and coffee too. Pub was clean and bright with plenty of seating inside and out. Staff very friendly and helpful. No ales on the bar unfortunately (not that I wanted one with breakfast)”
