“I 'phoned the hotel a few days before my planned stay in order to request a few things. I was extremely fortunate to have my call answered by Eliana (I hope that I have spelled this lady's name correctly). No-one could possibly have been more friendly, helpful nor intuitive. She was offering us extras for our room before I even had the chance to ask! Amazing! In fact, once we arrived, we found that the whole team was fantastic! Fortunately, our room was not one which Premier Inn has refurbished and so still retained its large desk and useful wardrobe. The free Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream YouTube at all times and the hotel is conveniently located upon York's ring road but only a short drive from the city centre.”
“Great location with the park and ride just up the road. Lovely clean room. Good parking and the breakfast was really good. The pub opposite is nothing to do with the premier inn, so no meal deals available, but it was lovely and the food was great.”
“I’m a local driving instructor so pop into the Co-op shop on Hull Road several times a week. Usually to shop, sometimes to pick up students there and sometimes to use the loo. The recent improvements to the car park, white bay markings and pedestrian crossings are excellent making it a safe place to shop. The shop itself is always clean and tidy, the staff are always friendly and helpful and a good selection of food and other items such as flowers, take away coffees, lottery tickets etc are easy to find and purchase. All at a reasonable price. I have a Co-op Member card, which cost me £1 some years ago and regularly receive additional discounts through the membership. Today I bought some items, milk, bread and some sweets and used the loo. The usual 100% satisfaction was experienced and I must say the loo was spotless. Well stocked with paper towels, soap etc and I have no hesitation in awarding five stars!”
“Great pub , by the road side so parking is a bit difficult but not impossible beer great and a good selection, well worth a visit, I should know as I did the line cleaning there.”
“Brilliant store with an extensive range of foods and produce. Great value for money and a huge range of alternative foods. Friendly and helpful staff.”
“Great little shop, prefer it to the bigger one. Professional and attentive staff, clean, well stocked. Said to be expensive, but get a Co-op card and buy their own branded goods and you get money back on your shop, plus a donation to a charity of your choice at no cost to you. Win win situation”
“Great place at great value so close to the city centre, which is only around 20 minutes on foot. Yes the furniture in the room was a little dated, and the wallpaper and paint could do with freshening up, but the rooms are clean and tidy and provide all the amenities with a spacious bedroom and en suite. Rooms are always warm, which was more than welcome from the biting cold outside. If I had to make any criticism it would be the mirror in the bathroom, as I am short, fat and hairy, I had to stand on my tiptoes to shave. But the hosts here are great, and always checking to make sure things are ok and that you have a plentiful supply of tea bags and coffee. They also provide off street parking to the rear of the Inn and while I didn’t sit the bar, it looked like a great place to unwind and they offer bar snacks should you get peckish.”
“Excellent experience from start to finish. Staff very friendly and went above and beyond for our stay. They even decorated one of our rooms with birthday banners and balloons as one of our party celebrated their birthday during our stay.”
“Thanks Raj for a top night. Looking after 40 people in 1 sitting can’t be easy but you pulled it off. Fantastic food and service as usual. Thanks to you and all your staff. All the best, look forward to another sitting in the new year.”
“We visited the Alium Restaurant for the Vegan menu. I am pescatarian hence we went for this menu. Wow is all I can say. The food, wine flight, and service was incredible. The chef Luke came out to explain a number of the dishes personally and was incredibly helpful. We have tried to book for the next Vegan week but they haven’t released the dates yet! I am fortunate enough to have eaten all over the world in some incredible restaurants, this beats them all and it is in our home town!”
“I visited your store this morning to buy some wine. What I wanted was not on the shelf...again. However an extremely polite youg man called Tom came and asked if he could help. I explained my requirements and he checked and found the wine I wanted had just arrived in the warehouse. He offered to go and get it. 5 minutes later he returned with my requirements 6 bottles of a Rhone. He was so polite and pleasant and would like you to note and thank him. We'll done Phillip Hodgson”
“One of the best selections of soft drinks in Leeds City Centre”
“The server there, a woman with pink hair, was lovely. Attentive when needed, cheery and bright eyed. Bareing in mind this was 1am!”
“Very friendly and helpful staff. Hot food is available everyday and also do hotdogs, and vegan food. Has a well stocked bakery department. The shop caters for everyone”
“Good location next to the Barbican. Managed to pick up some much needed sustenance after a long morning exploring York and watching snooker in the afternoon.”
“Excellent service, even though it was starting to get busy with lunch time rush, staff were very helpful and friendly. Food is no longer collect from the conveyor due to covid, but order via a QR code, even though the app wasn't working properly, order went through and made fresh to order. Highly recommended!”
“Use Buffalo pizza with the work clan on night shifts and everyone very impressed.”
“Lovely clean, newly renovated hotel. We stayed in a family room which had 4 large single beds, perfect for a family, we all had plenty of room and space. Staff were lovely, professional and happy. Breakfast had everything we needed and filled 4 tummy's for a day exploring York. Location was spot on with everything in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again”
“Have been using Pizza Time for years, friendly service and by far the best pizza/burgers in our area.”
“Excellent service from the staff yesterday. Somehow I managed to order a pizza with no cheese (blasphemy!!) and didn't realise until it was too late to add it and they had already cooked my pizza. I had asked to order another one and forfeit the money as it was my mistake and they offered to remake my pizza for me free of charge. Obviously the look of disappointment of a cheesless pizza on my face said it all, I couldn't cope with eating a pizza with no cheese! And best of all it was piping hot, fresh, and delicious!! Well played Dominos!”
“Lovely friendly and polite staff.Shame there getting marked down on here when the carpark charges are nothing to do with co op it's the landlord of the building!”
“Absolute fave market. So convenient, long opening hours with such an amazing selection of products including great range of healthy, vegan and vegetarian options. Staff always very friendly and even has beautiful fresh bread and a hot counter. Absolutely essential for the area to have a good local shop well-done co-op!”
“Visited last week on my way to catch my coach. They had a very good selection of meal deal products for my journey. Staff were polite and helpful.”
“Lovely Italian restaurant in York! We had pizza for lunch and it was really delicious. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially with our wheelchair, which made the experience very comfortable for us. Great food, great service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!”
“A great dining experience. One of the best in recent years. Delicious food, beautifully balanced and presented. Staff excellent. A wonderful wine list with prices for all budgets. Will be back for sure. Thank you.”

“Fuuuuullllllup. Well that was a great bit of food. Deepfried gherkins, u filthy animal.. sooooo good. Try em. Biltong.. nom nom nom. Meatballs. Oh yes.. give me more. Mains. Ostrich like fillet steak but lighter. try it.. its not chicken. Monkey gland sauce... sweet and chutney like. Miele with the chackalaka sauce, different and good. “Outstanding experience from start to finish. The welcome was genuine, service was swift, and the coffee was superb—rich flavour, perfect temperature, and silky milk. The café is spotless with a calm, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to linger. After our earlier, underwhelming coffee and service at “Over The Rainbow,” this place completely turned our morning around. A true five-star café and an easy recommendation.”
