“I had the most amazing experience at Rock and Rose in Richmond. The food was great - my friend and I ordered the crispy tempura shrimp, the chicken milanese, the lamb leg steak and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - can't fault anything, tasted amazing! The drinks were delicious too, the bartenders put on a whole show for us and it added to the experience. The staff were all so lovely and hospitable, I loved the decor and ambience inside and it was super packed which goes to show how popular it is. Thank you so much for having us, this place is a hidden gem for sure! Can't wait to return ✨️”

“We visited as a party of 6 without having booked and they were able to accommodate us in spite of being quite busy. We ordered starters and a main course and all really enjoyed our meals. the restaurant was clean, well decorated and had gentle music playing in the background which provided a very nice atmosphere. The meal was excellent value.”

“I’ve always had an amazing experience here but today was extra special. I ordered through uber eats and they didn’t have the drink I wanted so swapped it for a similar one. I received the most lovely note explaining about the swap. Considering I was having a bad day that made it even better. Wonderful staff and yummy food.”

“What a lovely and amazing place. The dining rooms are as beautiful as the food. Its however more expensive than a Michelin starred restaurant. £394 for 4 of us. So control the drinking! Loved the litre of sicilian lemonade, reminded me of Glastonbury lemonade carts. My only little gripe, was it was winter, I had a long coat, and the host should have taken our coats as there is only a dirt floor and your coat tails trail in the dust. They eventually came to hang it up in their cloakroom”

I appreciated how they tried their best to nudge things along as we had expressed concern over our schedule when we made the reservation. Loved the local garden inclusions in the menu. “We went for the 3rd time for the lunch time serving. £80 per person but well worth every pound. The food was delicious, fresh and didn't disappoint. The waiters were polite. My only drawback is the manager. She's very abrupt as she gave a rude gesture when we declined wine and asked for bottle water. The way she speaks to customers and the waiters is impolite and unprofessional. She needs to retire as she's been there for too long or she needs to improve her customer facing skills as she would be the one reason why I wouldn't go back.”

“Hawthorn is 100% your new go-to spot in Kew/Richmond. For some background, everyone who I was with for dinner had previously dined at the Glasshouse at some point in their lives, so when we all arrived for dinner at Hawthorn, we were intrigued about how it would compare… AND WOW our expectations were blown out of the water. Not only did we each quite literally lick the plates clean, but we all felt that each course was complex yet also felt so simple and just plain delicious. We heard that the restaurant just opened a couple of weeks ago, but the food tasted as if the chefs have been cooking together for years. Whether you are there for lunch or dinner, either set menu is incredibly well priced (especially when the food quality is at this level). The sommelier is incredible, suggesting perfect pairings for each course to accommodate every taste bud or finding a bottle that works with a table of diners who ordered a mixture of seafood and meat mains! Conveniently it’s also right next to Kew Gardens station or a short walk from Richmond station - very easy to get to and definitely worth a trip. What an amazing new restaurant in Kew!”

“We came here for dinner via the Fork. Place is close to Richmond station with free parking nearby after 4:30pm. We got the poppadum. We had the pani puri, sheekh kebab and paneer tikka. All were great with a kick to it. For the main we got Lamb saag and chicken curry with naan and rice. The food was quite spicy and flavourful. Bill was around £55 which is reasonable.”

“I've been eating and taking away from this restaurant almost from the time I moved to Putney 57 years ago. Thetford has always been delicious, the service unfailingly professional but friendly and the portions more than generous. I love it.”

The food was phenomenal: fresh, tasty, and beautifully cooked.especially butter chicken was so good the sauce was creamy and full of that classic Indian flavor I’ll definitely be trying more from their menu.”

“I never enjoyed soft shell crab like how we did at Yum Sa. Every item we ordered tasted great and nothing disappointed. The best items we had were the satay chicken, grilled prawns, and the soft shell crab. Massaman curry was good too. Jungle curry was alright. The cocktails were also good with their unique twist on the traditional cocktails. Do note the pictures of the food are outdated as it looks like they may have changed their menu. For instance we wanted to try their pad Thai wrapped in omelette but didn't see that particular dish in the menu. There is a pad Thai but there was no mention of omelette in it. So we didn't order it. Also we went in assuming the portion size are also small based on the images but when the food looked much bigger when we saw the food in front of our eyes. So order accordingly.”

“Hidden Gem In Putney I recently visited The Arab Boy and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere of the pub is cozy and welcoming, a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was simply divine – crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, just as it should be. To complement my meal, I enjoyed a pint of Guinness, which was perfectly poured and served cold. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that everything was to my liking. Whether you’re looking for a great spot to relax with friends or just want to enjoy some delicious British classics, The Arab Boy is the place to go. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area – you won’t be disappointed!”

“It was a stupidly hot late June day and as we were traveling back from Hampton Court Palace, we met a local whose parents also happened to be staying at the same hotel (The Selwyn) as us. We were on the last leg of four straight weeks of international travel and safari…we were EXHAUSTED and wanted a good simple dinner super close to the hotel and The Red Cow was recommended to us. The bartender was awesome, but made my day when he noticed how hot and tired we looked and brought me a pint glass filled to the brim with ice, to go with my fruity cider I was trying. Divine! Small gesture, big impact. Enjoyed a delicious dinner, football match on the tv, and we’d stay here instead of The Selwyn next visit. Also, don’t recall the name of this drink he recommended, but it was perfect at the end of a long, hot day. Thank you!”

“I came to Richmond to visit Kew Gardens and booked an afternoon tea for four here. We had the most lovely and delicious experience. Cakes, quiches, scones, clotted cream, big tea selection, the works. The staff were so nice, helpful, and efficient. It was a beautiful Saturday in September and the place was not too busy. The quality and presentation was better than most afternoon tea spots in London (city center) and at least 1/3 the price… I will be back.”

“Came here with 6 friends of mine post-Twickenham rugby, and the service and food were absolutely amazing. Our waiter was very welcoming and friendly, and the food was delivered quickly. Every one of us had a different dish (from pad thai, to spicy crispy duck, curries, calamari, pork ribs, and more) - every single one was tender and a perfect balance of flavours. I myself got the yellow yellow noodles dish with chicken thighs, and it reminded me a lot of the Chiang Mai/Khao Soi noodles I had when I was in Thailand myself. 5 stars. Highly recommend!”
