“Me and my friend found this little cafe on our second day visit to London we were staying at The Barbican Thistle Hotel over the road on Lever St who were charging £12 pp for breakfast .We declined there offer as we wasn't willing to pay over the odds for a cooked breakfast but do understand that London can be very expensive. On entering the cafe , the owner greeted us with a smile , we couldn't believe the price difference just by walking over the road has a cooked breakfast was between £3.50 to £5.95 depending on what size you wanted , so over half the price of the hotel, all the ingredients was of good quality, hot and so extremely excellent value for money. The owner explained to us all about the history of London and Italy where he was from , he was such an interesting character and full of the local history and knowledge. If we ever visit this area of London again we would definitely go back here for a meal , keep up the good work.”

“Great atmosphere and respectful door staff. The club has 3 or 4 floors with great djs and music on each floor. The main floor usually has a live band every Saturday night, after being there a few times it seems like they put a lot of into selecting and featuring live bands.”

The atmosphere inside is a very nice, slightly industrial setting with an open floor area where small events are held. It was quiet during my visit, with some music playing in the background. The coffee is good, and there is an option for plant milk. There are also some vegan options for some small food items. The staff is very nice. A true hidden gem.”

The latte I had was very good, and the croissant decent (price in total: £5.55)! I visited a weekday morning, and it was not busy, but most people were getting their coffee to go. “The nicest kebab restaurant ive been to! Great and welcoming atmosphere as you walk in, it’s beautifully decorated, with traditional ornate decorations, it’s very clean and the seating is cosy. The staff were very friendly and we were giving complimentary flatbread and dips. The food itself came on very pretty plates and was a good portion size was tasted delicious!”

“We went there to see "as December falls". I will be honest, I'm in my late 40's and went mainly to support my youngest (20). I can honestly say I really enjoyed myself, it had the vibe of a rock/metal gig venue from 25-30 years ago, everyone looking out for each other, but with a modern twist, a new generation following the old school values of doing their best to just love the music and doing all the can to help others enjoy it too. The other thing that struck me is the price of drinks, here in Surrey we are sadly used to being hammered by drink prices, and I fully expected the drinks to be on the he pricey side, especially as we were a captive audience, that had choice but pay the prices they charged. The date was the 15/08/2025 and 2 single vodkas with cranberry came to £11 (something). I have paid a lot more in places I have enjoy far less in the area. Finally, without going into detail, we had some additional needs, we needed a chair for the gig part, and honestly it was no trouble, we told one person at the bar, I didn't catch his name, but but the time we got into the gig part, all the staff knew, and were descreetly on hand if needed Thanks to all the staff at the fighting cocks, those at banquet records who ran the music part, and to As December Falls for a brilliant albeit hot and sticky night”
