“Caught my wife's door mirror on our front wall while reversing. Went to another bodyshop and quoted £460 for a new door mirror no other option given. Tried ft smartfix for first time and told he could change the mirror but as the damage was minor he could quickly just touch it up before my wife got home. 10 minutes later it's not so noticeable. Not a complete repair but just made it look better and the best thing is when I asked how much, I was told don't worry about it. Gave the guy £20 for being a gentleman and genuine. “Cannot rate them highly enough! Having only owned Audi or BMW before, I was anxious about finding a reliable specialist near me for my first Mercedes. I found MercServices from google and decided to go with them based on their reviews. And safe to say they didn’t disappoint. My newly purchased CLK 350 was recently serviced and was only in need of an oil change and a fix for a squealing and weak parking brake. I also had a lot of general queries about CLKS and Mercedes. I spoke to Luke on the phone and he happily answered all of my questions to great detail. The oil change was carried out well and the parking brake only needed an adjustment. They also cleared out some historic engine diagnostic codes and gave the whole car a thorough inspection. I arrived just 20 minutes before the shop closed to collect my car and mentioned an issue I had with the clock of the car on the dash which could not be adjusted as the old navigation system removed. Luke instantly told me he would give it a go. While it didn’t work out because a CD was needed to do this and the shop was about to close, I highly rate their helpful and professional attitude. To summarise, In all my interactions with them, they were extremely professional, transparent and helpful. It’s clear that they know Mercedes cars inside out and their premises are also top notch. “Took my beloved 07 Honda accord there. First of all I called and he slotted me when I needed an emergency. No faffing around, quoted me fairly and did good work. Issue I had was a seized caliper. “I've recently moved to the area and as there are so many MOT garages, I wasn't sure where to go so I took a gamble on Chequers and what a brilliant choice I made. As a female, I'm not 100% with cars but I'm no newbie either and have been to many places who have tried me but Chequers, a lovely family owned business, took care of my car and thoroughly checked it over. Not only did they provide excellent service which took no more than 20 minutes or so, they even offered me information for the best garages around if any repairs are needed at low prices! Best of all, I was talking about how I needed a new clutch and how much money it'll cost me and they provided more info which in turn saved me well over £400-500 estimated on a new clutch!!! June 2025- just updating this because Chris and Mehmet as ever have been incredible- after my car showing all the symptoms of a knackered catalytic converter I was braced for a hideous bill. Chris had a poke about and isolated a wiring issue- he did his magic then told me to take the car home, drive it about for a few days and any further issues I should bring it back in rather than him start to take apart the engine and cost me a fortune in labour prior to any kind of diagnostic. Happily enough the issue was sorted and the bill? Only £80 plus VAT rather than god knows how much just on labour prior to any kind of further repair. Just shows how decent and honest these guys are. Thanks Chris and Mehmet, as a woman who only knows a bit about cars, going to a garage can be really intimidating, especially in London, but your approach means I can relax knowing I’m never going to be taken for a ride.
