“I have recently been discharged from Cygnet Beckton, Upping Ward. I rate the care I received over the course of the 15-months I was there as very good. The staff were respectful, caring and supportive. The hospital held the safety of patients as of utter most importance and restrictions were enforced only when people were at risk. Right from the start of my admission I was given meaningful and attainable goals, with an ethos of praise and encouragement for each step forward, no matter how small. Psychology and O.T. interventions were well organised and helpful. As staff were regularly moved across different wards I have no doubt that the experience I had on Upping Ward was a reflection of the care given throughout the hospital.”

From the referral from my doctor to having the MRI was about a week and a half (and they offered me a sooner appointment I couldn't make) which is fantastic.”

“I don’t know about others, I know that NHS has a lot of people that can make you put everyone in the same boat, I know the nerves and disappointment that can occur sometimes when trying to reach a GP or something that you know done somewhere else much quicker…. But I been to this hospital Twice in the last Month and a Half, once I had emergency intervention by a very nice doctor that put letter to my GP about my condition that requires surgery, And my GP forwarded me back to the same hospital for colonoscopy… I must tell you… That department is lovely and truly professional… Should I even tell you that they brought me cofee and biscuits like I wasn’t there for treatment…very polite , humble, professional you name it … I haven’t had such a pleasant experience since London Eye Hospital A&E department…. So good to have peole like in this hospital, good management probably, good human instincts of helping others… Really pleasant experience which Hospital shouldn’t be a place to wish to return…but if I need to return, at least I feel…safe and…well treated by these people ! Keep up the good work ! Thankfully NHS still has remains of Good People… I don’t normally give such reviews to NHS…yet today I learned there is still Hope out there ! The system is not all crooked ! Thank you for the professionalism ! I was so scared and concerned when I arrived there today… After the intervention I didn’t mind to be told that I have to return unfortunately… In other circumstances I would have given up the ideea that someone will do the best to help me if I’m in need ! Thank you Endoscopy Department and the doctor that helped me initially checking me sending letter to the GP ! Good hearted people !”

“We have used this place multiple times and they’re always friendly, reliable and it’s very clean. Would highly recommend. If the door is locked when you arrive, just wait and someone will come to let you in.”

“Well, what an experience. There is a very long wait and process to be seen, assessed and treated. I spent nearly 8 hours there. The queue started when I was trying to park in the visitor's car park. It takes a couple of hours before a nurse sees you and takes your blood pressure, pulse and temperature. Then another couple of hours later, a nurse takes some blood samples. Then it's another 2 hours before the results return. You are then seen by a doctor who discusses your situation and possible treatments or further investigations. There are a lot of patients there, all with their own problems and issues, all in need of urgent treatment. So, in the end, the wait is worth it as you get seen and your treatment can begin. I was given antibiotics and asked to return for a scan. The staff, nurses and doctors are very helpful and friendly. Next time, I will park nearby and walk as had to pay £20 for the car park.”
