“Delicious food with a huge variety at a reasonable price. We managed to secure a table for a Saturday evening. The restaurant is spacious and its acoustic features are commendable. It wasn't disturbingly noisy even though it was full. Every single dish was served within 20 minutes and the quality was superb. We will be sure to return here in the future.”

I came here with my family and my grandma really wanted a banana milkshake and they didn’t have it on the menu so the waiter went to the shops and got bananas to make it for her, it was so kind of him and they really went above and beyond for us. “On the contrary to some of the other reviews.. Where do I start? I have so many good points to make about this place. I used to go for lunch here with my baby daughter (materinity leave) in 2015 and back then I was so impressed by the freshness, the portions, the cleanliness and Jay (the owner, down to earth and warming service skills). It's always very quiet and clean so this automatically gives you a nice ambience. Fast forward to now, whilst most establishments have gone downhill after covid, Makiyaki went up several levels. They updated the decor (gorgeous), their crockery is very up market and their sauces that are drizzled over the sushi is fantastic. Jay the owner is extremely humble and polite and is a great chef and puts his all into everything his does. Alongside him, his wife also runs the restaurant. She is very efficient and conscientious about every detail. It's nice to see a restaurant go from strength to strength and their dishes are worth every penny. Recommendations are: scallop Volcano, scallop crunch, Gyoza (very fresh), England, Spider and kingston roll. I have lots of other favorites but the new addition is their pancake desert. Wow.. Thank you for always delivering an excellent experience and of course we shall be back.”

“Simi’s Secret Kitchen is a secret you need to find! I was lucky enough to be asked to be one of Simi’s testers as she developed & homed in her recipes for her Kitchen Menu. This food journey has been so yummy & the amount of planning and preparation before the food is even cooked has been eye opening. It has taken my love of curry to another level & with Simi's Mum on hand via FaceTime Video calls to just check on Simi, every dish is now simply outstanding. Don’t take my word for it, try it! The biggest kitchen secret you need to try is Simi’s Boondi. Enjoy!”

“A cold and slightly rainy Sunday morning deserves a coffee and walnut cake, with a cappuccino, right? Both were lovely, and one of the young ladies from the staff there asking how the coffee and cake were is a nice welcoming gesture. There’s a play area at the back of the shop (which I didn’t photo as there are children playing there) and the overall ambience was pleasant.”

“The best Hummus I had in London and its surrounding (and I know my hummus well!). You MUST try any of the hummus options, lamb kibbeh and Tabbouleh. It is super fresh! Prices are reasonable - value for money is excellent! Recommended for take out ONLY because place is too small. Owner runs the place alone, hard working and knows his Middle Eastern cuisine well. You are great and we are very happy to have your place so close to where we live!”

“Fabulous first visit to the monthly brunch sessions on 1st Saturday of each month. Absolutely cracking. A great range on the brunch menu without being overwhelming, good choices and lovely selection of sides/extras. Enjoyed a beautifully presented plate of food that was amazing value for money! Also, try a brunch cocktail, or enjoy with juice or a cuppa. Or a pint! But do go and try. Staff super friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings, a warm hubbub of chat, a really chilled atmosphere for a good feed after a big night out, a catch up with friends/family/neighbours or colleagues. A local for more than just locals. Dog friendly, family friendly. Just really friendly. Brilliant!!”
