“Absolute little gem in Green Street Green. Had 4 lunches this week and loved every single one. Menu is so different from all the rest of the other cafés. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. Had a different dessert every day, felt spoilt for choice. The best carrot cake I've ever eaten, and the blondie and the brownie... My partner had not fried, but baked big breakfast and absolutely LoVe it. Noticed owner knew his customers by name, very special for me. And the coffee is indeed the best. We will miss not working in the area and getting fed by Belmondo”

“Came for a quick drink and a little bite to eat.First time we'd been here. Smart place, groovy decor and relaxed atmosphere. Really friendly, welcoming and helpful service. Nice choice of dishes, we just ordered a few different starters. Very tasty but portion sizes were a tad small, especially with the octopus. Very easy drinking house lager. Would love to try the main courses at summer point in the future. Prices very reasonable.”

“A Hidden Gem with Wonderful Improvements! I’ve been visiting this bakery as of recent, and I have to say, the improvements since the change of staff have been incredible. It’s always been a lovely little spot, but now it truly shines! The selection of cakes and food is fantastic—everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The coffee is brilliant too, with a great range of options to suit everyone’s taste. Whether you fancy a strong espresso or a creamy latte, they get it just right every time. The staff are a real credit to the place—so friendly, polite, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a small, family-run business, and you can tell they put their heart into everything they do. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority here. The ingredients are always fresh, and the tables, chairs, and cutlery are spotless. It’s also reassuring to see their hygiene rating proudly displayed at the front of the shop. One of the best things about this bakery is the space. It’s not cramped like some cafés, and there’s even a lovely garden where you can sit outside and enjoy your food in the fresh air. It’s such a peaceful spot to relax, especially on a sunny day. Given the rise in the cost of living, I also really appreciate that the prices here are very reasonable. You get great quality food and drinks without feeling like you’re overspending, which makes it even easier to keep coming back! All in all, I highly recommend this bakery. “It maybe a mini version of a usual H&B store, but, the staff here are so helpful, resourceful having vested interest in the welfare of the customer over just selling anything off the rack. Special thanks to Lesley and Antonina, they have always been nice to my family, given us useful tips, advises and product information. Also on how best we can use our H&B loyalty card and deals to save money. They even sweetly pamper my little one and she loves going to the store for her dose of healthy snacks. As the store is small, I usually order my items online and it quickly gets delivered for pick up from this local store. I have been visiting H&B stores for years, but, when we moved local, I found the service in this store way more personalised, warm and welcoming. Keep up the great work!”

“Great choice of lovely feminine clothes for women. Classic styles that don't 'age' and always look good. I buy from them regularly as I don't see their clothes anywhere else and other stores don't offer the style of clothes I like. Can be pricey but comparable to M&S. Would recommend for ladies who want well made clothes, unusual materials and styles.”

“I went in to Iceland today, my ms was giving me trouble so was draining to shop and get buses. Some angel of a lady who works there I think her name is Laura but not 100 percent noticed I wasn't right plus noticed I was upset and this beautiful human being offered to pay for a cab for me , what a kind caring and compassionate lady we had a moment and I will never forget her heart. I declined the cab but the amazing man who stands by the door pushed my trolly to the bus stop. I jst want to say thankyou I Will remember your empathy and kindness and just want to let you know your both amazing ❤️”

“Always well stocked and presented, staff are quite active and attentive, easy layout means everything is easy to find. Don't see the manager on the floor much, seen him once in the year or so I've been coming here, that was to open a till when they were busy, although the lady did have to ring 4 or 5 times lol very happy with the shop, enjoy coming here to shop. Also has air con!”

“I’m one of those shoppers who scrutinise the labels to check what ingredients everything has as well as trying to eat as ‘clean’ as possible. I will shop in 3-4 supermarkets to cut down my weekly expenditure but recently, Aldi is my ‘Go To’ store. I have to say that I am seriously impressed with the quality ( and the price ) of all fresh meats, hams, chicken and fish. I also love that their fresh produce mostly comes from British farms. I am not vegetarian but there is a good selection to choose from if you are. Gluten free produce is also available. I can recommend their Sirloin steaks, Fresh Salmon, Cooked and uncooked Chicken Breasts, Beef ( joint and minced) Wiltshire Ham and their eggs are extra good value. On those items alone, I save between £10-15 per shop. I can also recommend Aldi ice creams/lollies ( special treat days) as they taste just as good as the branded ones but considerably cheaper. It’s a pleasant ‘quick’ shop but I have to admit that I spend a ridiculous amount of time down the ‘Isle of Shame’ Everyone loves a bargain right?!!”

“Eddies is a friendly off licence and grocery shop. Owner is very much interested in customer feed back both to improve service and improve the range of product. Parking always available either in the front of the shop or nearby free car park which is only couple of minutes away. All day to day essentials are well stocked up. Some halal products such as sausages and salami are available in shop. Owner is willing to take orders for meat which can be delivered the following day however I have not tried this service yet. Overall a pleasant shopping experience every time you go in. Finally a much needed late night off licence and grocery for the area.”
