“As an avid fan of Japanese cuisine I had a great dinner at Umi. The menu consists of a wide variety of different Japanese dishes which accommodates for all kinds of meal preferences. All the dishes we ordered were very fresh and were prepared with great detail. All dishes worked to create an authentic experience. In particular, the pork cutlet in the curry don was cooked to perfection with a crispy breaded surface and a tender centre. The sashimi had a umami flavour which is always a pleasant surprise in good quality sashimi. The establishment has a comfortable atmosphere and the high quality service provided by the staff of Umi ensured that we had a great time. I would highly recommend Umi as a go-to for authentic Japanese food.”

“An intimate dining experience with just ten people per sitting, where you see the husband and wife chef prepare everything in front of you. The food was vast with many course, with everything being outstanding in terms of taste and quality. My personal highlights were the scallop and the duck soup. We opted for the wine pairing too, but if I were to go again I would not opt for that a second time round. “We fancied some seafood and headed down to Seawise Street Seafood Bar. We heard lots of good things and were not disappointed. We ordered the squid rings freshly prepared and cooked, and the butterfly King Prawns we asked for the spicy option. I must say they were the tastiest prawns I've ever had. The squid was delicious too. We also brought some cockles which were plump and not at all gritty, dressed crab and some shell on prawns. The crab came with coriander and red onion, which nicely complimented the crab. Very tasty and would highly recommend. Thank you for our tasty dinner.”

You get to sit literally around the kitchen and admire the magic as it happens. 5 course tasting menu with the option of drink pairing. You can choose which kind of pairing you want. We opted for half with and half no alcohol. It was a great choice because while the wine was delicious the non alcoholic drinks stole the show. I have never tasted fish courses highlighting the flavour of the fish so respectfully. Everything was perfect. Unforgettable!”

The deli has an arrangement of food that suits lunch time. Take away or eat there on one of the tables out the front.
