“This is one of the best pubs in the area. I have been going here on and off since way before it was renovated last time and Julie and her team work hard to make this a fun and welcoming place to go. There is no food but the cost of a pint is reasonable, has live music every weekend, has a small enclosed outdoor area and you are not constantly looking over your shoulder. How often do you hear the words “We have had to shut the front door as we are full” in pubs any more! Keep up the good work Julie.”

“Really lovely pub with a restaurant feel in the main dining area, and a super dog-friendly dining experience in the Garden Room. Our server, Charlotte, was very friendly and attentive. Really appreciated the card on our table, wishing our Mum a happy birthday, along with a complimentary drink. Only downside was the dreadful smell from drains in the ladies. Will definitely return.”

“I really feel for these guys because they do a great job and the food is amazing but I can't see it lasting with the prices. I know it's good quality and better for you but realistically, it's £11.50 for a little prep box or £5.00 for a kebab or pizza next door. When people go out for dinner during work they don't wanna be spending that much when there are much cheaper options. Like I said it's a shame because it's great stuff but way too over priced for dinnertime at work lol”

“I recently visited Nawaab Manchester and had a fantastic dining experience. The buffet was impressive with a huge variety of dishes to choose from, catering well to both adults and children. Every dish I tried was delicious, piping hot, and regularly refilled, which kept everything fresh throughout the evening. We arrived just after 6pm when the restaurant had just opened, and there was no waiting time at all, which made the start of our meal even better. The flavours were rich and authentic — truly a delight for the taste buds. While it is a little on the pricey side, I think it is justified by the sheer range and quality of food on offer. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for families, groups, or anyone who loves a generous and flavour-packed buffet.”

“Ah, Cheerful Garden. A name that conjures up memories of my OG Fiat Punto, Friday nights, and the purest form of salt and pepper chicken imaginable. My cousin and I, two seasoned veterans of Friday night feasts, embarked on a pilgrimage back to the hallowed halls of this culinary institution after nearly two decades - both having moved away. The anticipation was palpable. Would the magic still be there? Had the years dimmed the flavor, dulled the spice? We nervously approached the dimly lit sign, our hearts pounding like teenage drummers. The aroma hit us like a tidal wave, a symphony of sesame oil, garlic, and pure, unadulterated deliciousness. Nostalgia washed over us, stronger than a particularly potent Satay sauce. But alas! Tragedy struck. After rattling off our order with the fervor of a seasoned auctioneer, I was met with a chilling realization. The sight of a grown man totting up on a casio calculator can only mean one thing... cash only. My heart sank. Years of climbing the corporate ladder, of meticulous budgeting, of carefully navigating the treacherous waters of modern finance, had all led to this – a cash-only Chinese takeaway. Despair threatened to consume us. Luckily, my cousin, a man of resources (and apparently, a card-carrying member of the American banking system), had plastic. But the ordeal was far from over. Finding a cash machine in Lees, a town that seemed to exist outside the realm of modern convenience, proved to be a Herculean task. We circled the "Co-op" (now an Aldi, a cruel twist of fate), only to find ourselves cash-less and craving. Just as hope began to dwindle, a beacon of light – a cash machine shimmering beside the legendary "Legends" – appeared. And whilst it accepted his Bank of America card, it was clear that the Chinese gods smiled upon us. And then, the feast. Salt and pepper chicken that could convert even the most ardent vegetarian, chow mein that danced on the tongue, black pepper chicken that set our souls on fire. The Singapore vermicelli, oh the vermicelli! And the soup, a fiery elixir that warmed our souls and banished all memory of our cash-related woes. Now, let's be real, reheating takeout is an art form. But even after a journey longer than most cross-country road trips and a brief stint in the air fryer, the Cheerful Garden experience remained unparalleled. It was an 11 out of 10 performance, an oriental masterpiece that could only have been orchestrated by the culinary gods themselves. If I didn't know any better, I'd say they must have droned it in from Beijing. Now, another 20 years may pass before I have a legitimate reason to return to Oldham. But when I do, you can bet your sweet and sour pork that Cheerful Garden will be my last stop.”

“I don't know why, but I've always thought this place would be a bit of a dive and so in the 30 years I've lived here, I've never been in. I'm sorry! However, as Stacked are now cooking here, we gave it a go. The bar staff were lovely and drinks were a lot cheaper than I've paid at other places which was a bonus. The guy on the bar also came over to make sure we understood the ordering process for Stacked which was good of him. Stacked was, as always, delicious and I'll review them separately. The only thing I will say, is that if you think Stacked is good when it's delivered, get down to the Prince of Orange and try it fresh!”

“Best customer service you can recieve, In-store and upon delivery. Always friendly and order always correct. As a family we have been using their service for the past 4/5 yrs and have never been disappointed.. In fact we feel disloyal when ordering a Chinese takeaway. In this restaurant they are kind and efficient, their food is tasty and of good quality. The prices are of good value. From a mum who has 2 children who both have different taste I can never get it wrong here when its a treattakeaway night :)”

“On the way home did a late stop just before closing time.. They didn't hesitate to serve, very friendly staff and helped with the options. Genuinely the food was amazing just the way we wanted it. The flavor was on point and not over powering. The curry complemented the rest of the food, more than enough for 2 people. I will be trying this again. The place has been kept clean?, tables clean and open space. Family friendly environment.”

“Tried Lamb Curry here for the first time, came back next day to get some more to let my mum have a taste. Honestly the place could do with a bit of investment to tidy it up, but the lamb curry was just superb. Enough to justify the premium price! The old fella there asked mt my name so he could remember me in the future. Now i live in Bury and this place in in Levenshulme/Longsite area so a bit of a trek but deffo worth it.”

“This is a lovely pub house with some outdoor tables. It’s so leisure to sit between the green building and a grassland. The fish and chip is perfect and the fried onion is crispy enough. I really enjoyed the chocolate sundae too.”
