There was no Turkey available on the Christmas menu, but there were plenty of other options available so we chose Gammon. The food was excellent quality and so delicious. “So, fundamentally this was a really nice place. The atmosphere is modern yet comfortable. I felt it was clean and well-looked after and I did not find anything obvious out of place. Our party was there for a wedding reception and there were quite a lot of us. We ordered a lot of food and although I felt that the service was a little slow perhaps, I didn't find it slow to the point of questioning it as, after all, they were cooking approximately 20 meals from scratch. I ordered lamb shank and crème brule and I really enjoyed the lamb. I found it to be well cooked and definitely enjoyed my meal. As far as I am aware most of our party enjoyed their meal and we found nothing to complain about with the food at all. The service was actually really pro-active and helpful and I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble and the staff were really polite.”

“We absolutely love it here! are regulars at Mottram wood because as a family of 6 we find that it has everything we need for all of us. Great food, friendly staff, a good play area for the kids and an outside area. And then the food is decent pub grub at a very reasonable price. We find it to be the best play area / restaurant around Manchester. We came here for Christmas dinner which was great and so reasonably priced and today my son just had his 6th birthday party at the wacky warehouse. Alex and Jess in the play area are outstanding and can’t do enough for you and the kids adore them too.”

“Having had a previous bad experience here we gave it another chance. So pleased we did got the lunch specials 2 eggs 3,sausage chips and beans, and fish and chips the fish was about a good size well cooked and batter crisp had caramel apple Betty and custard and chocolate brownie for dessert with unlimited soft drinks bill was just over £20 excluding tips service was great. Cheaper than a takeaway and no washing up.”

“We visited on Saturday for Breakfast with Santa with my niece and nephew, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was lovely, and the atmosphere was warm and festive. “Staying at the attached Premier Inn with family during house renovations. Came for breakfast on reopening, after having watched them spend the weeks leading up to it doing maintenance and cleaning everything. Very clean and tidy inside. Breakfast was great. Good fry up and selection of fruits, cereals and yoghurts. Coffee good too. And the measure of any hotel breakfast, fantastic croissants which came hot from the oven! Joanne who served us was great,very friendly and attentive. Was lovely when serving my young children too. Thank you! Back tomorrow :)”

It was warm enough for me and comfortable, peaceful and a short walk to the train station. Excellent value for money, half the price of the Travelodge down the road.
