“Absolutely love the food here proper home cooked hearty food which is actually quite hard to find these days. We come quite often to have lunch and I normally opt for one of their amazing pies and my other half loves their Lasagna. Staff are very friendly and welcoming aswell would definitely recommend to others”

“The Birches is a very welcoming pub, great atmosphere with an open fireplace to warm any weary traveller. A great selection of beers and larger, I had a glass of their Australian Shiraz, which was very nice; much nicer than what is usually served in pubs. Food is served using locally sourced produce. It is traditional, very well cooked, and served on nice warm plates. Recommended to all.”

“Absolutely loved this hotel. It is a short walking distance from the train station, easy to access. The building looks amazing and the rooms are just fab! It is a proper hotel room but very well equipped even had a small kitchen installed giving a feeling of an RBnb so you can cook your own meals if you want. Nice and clean bathroom with some nice brands of shampoo and body wash. Also had iron and hair dryer. Oh, and the view was stunning, staff was superfriendly. Wifi was quick, easy to connect and even the staircase looks beautiful. Highly recommended accomodation if you visit Manchester.”

“First time dining there tonight and we can’t wait to be back! Shocked we had a hidden gem on our doorstep and didn’t realise. We had a mix of Sunday lunches, burgers and steak at our table and there wasn’t a bad thing to say about it. The beef on the roast literally melted on your tongue. Very good staff who checked up on us a lot to make sure we had everything we wanted. Many thanks to Jason as well, he was fab looking after us, very approachable and witty, which made the meal even better. We will be back soon!”

“Wow! This place reminds me of walking in to the likes of Pacha in Spain for the first time, the music pumping and the smoke acting as a barrier between the real world and club land. Tech house was the flavour of the night, and my god it tasted good! What an epic deviation of the norm, I could've literally thrown shapes all night in here! Could this place be the venue that puts Preston back on the clubland map? I think so!!!”

“Very good pub owned by Manchester Metropolitan University and run by the student union. The pub is a tap for the Bollington Brewery and had five cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered.”

“Great bar in the heart of the city. Food chooses really great, had the grill of the day - creamy chickpeas with chicken. Mushroom filled scotch egg also great. Espresso martini good. Service great and prices fair. Would visit again.”

I was served by a gentleman called Dillion, he really understands his customers and was exemplary in which he held himself whilst attending to his customers, from observation he anticipated customers needs and was well presented, well spoken & polite. “We booked the Christmas dinner for 3 on Christmas day. The staff were friendly and professional and went out of their way to help. The food was lovely and we were not rushed to receive the next course. All in all a great experience and we left with full tummies. It was my partners 60th birthday as well and the staff organised a sash and a birthday card finishing it all off nicely with a candle on a mince pie. Thank you to everyone. He had a lovely surprise.”
