“A very cozy place indeed especially when there’s a little drizzle outside. The ambiance was so quiet and comfortable that you can get a lot of work done in peaceful environment. There are chairs, sofa seats and counters to choose from according to your taste. Outdoor seating is however best for a bit chilly weather. About coffee, I found it pretty bland to be honest. It just tasted like coffee dissolved in water with a pinch of milk. Still better than Starbucks but needed a cookie to get some taste. The staff is really friendly and helpful with ingredients and taste.”

As Morrisons go, it does everything one would expect of Morrisons - without the cafe which has been closed in accordance with the retailer's national policy. Apart from that, the store is clean, well provisioned, and everything you need is always there to be had, including regional fare that locals are partial to. Importantly, Morrisons boasts two cash ATMs which is no small matter in a town where the only other ATM services are provided at one place in the centre of town - so if you are near the ATM, be sure to grab some cash while you can.”

“We visit Chorley almost every month and love to eat at Hartwood Hall. Our favourite is the filet steak which is always cooked to perfection. All the staff are friendly and helpful. On our latest visit we were served by John and Pippa, always a delightful experience. This is a popular restaurant and yet there is always a parking space and it’s free. You know you can relax and enjoy the gentle atmosphere. In summer there are tables outside, a bit close to the main road for us, so we stay indoors. So are there any problems? Only two as far as I am concerned, they don’t offer blue cheese as a cheese or a sauce and pouring cream is not on the menu either. Despite this we keep coming back for the great food, try the Mac & Cheese as a great side dish, it goes with anything.”
