“Brilliant place with a great atmosphere. Very comfortable and welcoming with extremely friendly volunteers running it. Brings a real sense of community which is part of the aim. They run a fab cafe with some very different choices of food and also include vegetarian and vegan options too. Events and projects for the community run during the day and the evening. There's a bar for evening events which serves a great selection of drinks at incredibly reasonable prices. A very relaxed informal welcoming place. Open mic night is lots of fun with anyone and everyone encouraged to get up and play or sing. Very eclectic with something for everyone. Lots of local artisans and artists sell their wares here too and there are lots of plans in the pipeline yet to come”

“We had our son's 11th birthday party here recently, and it was a great experience - it's such good value, especially the bowling time, the arcade games and the food is lovely. Aleina in particular was a wonderful host who took really good care of us all. This is the third year in a row we've had birthday parties at the Light, and it never disappoints!”

“This place is five ⭐ stars!! Afternoon event for a Holy Communion! Food, atmosphere and staff all amazing. A sense that they all enjoy their work!! Very clean and probably the best breakfast food I’ve had in years! Perfection!! Value for money also was a 5/5!!!! My son who has autism enjoyed his food and ate it so that’s a big compliment!!! We will be back!!!”

“Visited Romulus last night for the first time and the food was absolutely beautiful.. the nicest Italian I have ever had. I had the minestrone soup which was delicious followed by pan fried breaded chicken with tomato spaghetti on the side and my god it was to die for… also this was on the set menu 2 courses I think it was like £19 each…The staff are so nice they can’t do enough for you and also really funny. We had a ball in there last night. Will defo be back. Can’t recommend enough.”

“I’ve been coming to The Hare and Hounds in Middleton week after week, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience here. From the classic Sunday roast to the rotating chef’s specials, the food is consistently 10/10 — it’s far beyond what you’d expect from pub food and easily rivals high-end restaurants. Every dish is beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are almost unbelievable given the quality you get. “Went as a couple to celebrate a birthday, easy to book online with SMS confirmation and a reminder. Seated to within a few minutes if arriving. We were placed to the back where it's a larger open plan room and were sat next to a large group, also celebrating with noisy (well behaved just noisy) children and where the cutlery station is. As I had a headache, I asked if we could be moved to a table near the front and the gentlemen kindly moved us to a quiet "nook". Think he was the manager, really appreciated this. We were served by William; friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Checked on whether we wanted additional drinks and gravy, and timed it when we didn't have food in our mouths :) We had the Sunday sharer, hats off to Alex the grill chef. Food was hot, portions are decent. 2 big fluffy Yorkshires and the meat was cooked just as ordered, not fatty and very juicy. Would recommend.”

“I was born and bred in Thailand and this is the best Thai fusion food you’ll ever find in Manchester - It is a little pricey but it’s well worth it for a special night out. I cannot find any Thai restaurant in Manchester that offers Kao-Soi(Northern-style curry noodles) and Sai-Oua (lemongrass and herbs sausage) on the menu! I was very impressed with how they executed both. Went twice and will return. Cocktails are nice too.”

“I always make an effort to visit here, it’s my favourite pub and well worth the 45 minute train journey! Nice staff and they always have decent beers on tap which are always changing and have a lot of bottles to choose from as well. There are board games and snacks too for those who fancy that.”
