Intimate dinner in Manchester

“First class! I booked here for my 50th birthday and had a great time. The manager had kindly decorated the tables so that it felt like a party. Even though our tables had to be socially distant they still made or feel special. The food was good excellent. They had made platters of mixed starters for each table that were huge portions and delicious. Everyone was really happy with their main courses. The calzone is enormous! The octopus pasta superb! I can’t thank them enough for the service, welcome and food. I think I’ll be a regular in future!”

“We booked the Daisyfield for a Confirmation party. They offered a cold buffet and a choice of hot pies. We choose a mixture of both and were very impressed with the high quality, portion sizes and value for money. The children had an absolute ball playing in garden to the rear. There were chickens and rabbits for them to see plus some play equipment. As it was Easter Sunday there was also a DJ and Easter egg hunt. All in all we were made to feel very welcome and great atmosphere. Good time was had by all. Thank you.”

“Great pub. Attractive and traditional, retaining its original character. Well over 100 years old, built to serve the local Smithfield Market in particular. Good beers at sensible prices. Very friendly atmosphere. Seating outside which was very welcome on a hot day.”

“This is our 2nd visit here ( we dont live locally) so our visita are far apart. The food on both occasions was delicious. We shared the CAMEMBERT for two, with 4 slices of toasted Ciabatta and red onion relish. Extremely tasty. I had the Lentil Cottage pie with vegetables. Really tasty. Hunters chicken was very tasty too. We ate outside. Then went inside for a coffee and to investigate this lovely old house. I read and looked at the photographs on the walls and found out it had belonged to The Boddington Family. Staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly.”

“Stayed one night with my partner, had the dinner for two deal. Stud bar was excellent, barman friendly and made a mean cocktail. Reception and restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant were of really high quality and the breakfast was also amazing. Would recommend. Rooms and facilities were first rate.”

Their sushi skills are amazing . The restaurant is in a beautiful place it’s well decorated & easy on the eye ! All on one floor seating is very comfortable & relaxing ! “I had the most incredible dining experience at The Roaches Lock on Sunday! The food was absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding throughout the meal. The waitress kept checking in with us to see if we required more drinks or needed anything else. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. Either eat in or take away, the food is delicious and prepared how you want it, just ask for less fat or less salt. The staff will be more than welcoming and more than willing to meet your needs. “The Hesketh is hands down the best place for a Sunday roast! I had the chicken roast and it was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked, juicy chicken with crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and rich gravy that tied everything together beautifully. The portions were generous, the presentation spot on, and the flavours reminded me of a proper homemade Sunday dinner, only better! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear the team really take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for the perfect Sunday roast in the area, The Hesketh is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back next week !”

She made us feel so welcome and helped make our celebration so special. “I had to post as we had an amazing meal at Porada tonight. We had a party of 5 with one coeliac. Lots of choice on the menu and there was a variety of dishes ordered, everything was amazing especially the Gamberoni Taormina main.”

“This place is my favourite in Manchester. I’ve been there many times and was never let down. The food tastes great and is fresh and presentable. The staff are extremely friendly. It’s difficult for me to pick a favourite meal as all are delicious from Peri Peri grilled Chicken to burgers and mixed grilled kebabs.”
