“Such a beautiful and well kept park that we went before and after the pub lunch! Well worth the drive from Manchester City centre. The dog loves it and so does the grown up child who loved a quick go on the swings!”

“We stayed in room 214, room was clean a bit on the small side,bedding and towels were clean, bed was firm and the pillows were very firm,not much of a view, we had 4 pidgeons keep in us company outside the window,we didn’t get a good nights sleep because the thermostat which was next to the bed kept clicking all night, quite loudly so we didn’t get much sleep. The soap hadn’t been re filled in the shower, we asked at reception and it was filled, staff very pleasant but overall well worth the money”

“I needed a pump for the hydrolastic to take back to Spain with me. I phoned on Wednesday morning and spoke with a lovely lady who said she’d process it quickly for me. I ordered on the website and the pump arrived next day. I’m at the other end of the country. The service is so good and I now know where to go for anything I need for my MGF. Thank you all so much.”

“A well kept, clean campsite. I didn't notice much road noise, although you will get the odd plane going over. The camp is set in a wooded area, so the phone signal will be poor.”

“Went here on a Saturday night for my husband's birthday. Overall, a lovely night and a very nice place to spend it. The staff were friendly and attentive and service was fast. I was a bit disappointed that there was only one choice of risotto, a vegetarian one, so I had that. Must say, it was delicious and lifted to a higher level by the side dish of stir fried chilli veg. We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals, though the lobster ravioli was reported to be a bit bland. The staff made an effort to mark the birthday, even though we hadn't told them about it! We would definitely go back, as we had a most enjoyable, if slightly expensive evening.”

“Lovely old inn with a superb view. Good priced drinks and unbelievably friendly staff, including the delightful owners. Everybody went above and beyond, from checking in to breakfast in the morning.... Wow! The breakfast was perfect, and soaked up our hangovers from the previous nights wedding perfectly. Clean rooms, comfy beds, Will be looking for an excuse to go back soon.”

“Update: I first reviewed 3 years ago (see below), we live locally and still come here including tonight and again the food was lovely and even my fussy partner was happy with his dishes. Tarka daal was outstanding, chicken tikka tender, breads competently made. Very surprised at the bad reviews, noticed many are takeaway, we usually dine I'm and it's always been a good experience. Staff are also really lovely, we were put off by a really noisy group and they went to some trouble to set up the upstairs for us. Also offered us a bigger more comfortable table downstairs initially, even though it was fairly busy on a Friday night. So what one reviewer said about being made to sit at the smallest table is not the case now. Nice relaxed place to have a great quality curry at a reasonable price. Just to point out to another reviewer slating the food for not being authentically Indian: the restaurant is Bangladeshi, not Indian. The flavours are well balanced and nans cooked to perfection - fresh and fluffy soft with some browned bits. Samosas are large and taste freshly made, definitely above average quality. Fish dishes especially recommended, really tender. I've eaten here lots and with various people, and we've hardly even had a dish we've not been completely happy with. The staff make an effort and have a sense of humour.”

“Katie is amazing! She was so helpful and adapted her course to our needs. I was able to use all of the techniques that she taught us when I had my little boy. I was able to ask Katie lots of questions and felt very comfortable with her. I had a real fear off giving birth and Katie made me feel confident and reassured! I would recommend Birthcare with Katie to everyone preparing for the birth of a child!”

“Stopped for light bite on way to cottage holiday. Staff excellent, cafe clean, food really good. Toasties were great, watchout for the Nduja one though it is "hot".”

“An absolute godsend for us - stumbled across this gem somehow and booked for the end of day one of Pennine Way. Good communication prior re leaving car there - and organising lift that offered from the end of the walk back to the accomodation. One of the nicest welcomes you could ever get - and great value too! Lovely area too (photo taken of view out of bedroom window to the back) Rooms spot on for our needs - and even better just 2 mins walk to a pub (had stopped serving meals by 8pm but allowed us to do deliveroo to there so we sat and drank beer and ate pizza & kebab in the beer garden!) A cracking breakfast the next day - fresh fruit, cereals, full english, toast, homemade marmalade, juice/tea/coffee and a lovely chat with the amazing host Sheila who showed us the visitors book going back to 1976. That says it all - no one lasts that long doing anything, unless they have got it right! Highly recommend.”
