    Wythenshawe Park and Gardens

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Closed

“Wythenshawe Park and Gardens is one of the best green spaces in South Manchester, offering a mix of open fields, formal gardens, woodland walks, and family-friendly facilities. The park is well kept, with plenty of benches, flat paths for walking or cycling, and a relaxed atmosphere. The community farm and horticultural centre add extra interest, especially for younger visitors. There’s also a good café near the courtyard area, ideal for a quick lunch or coffee. It can get busy during events and weekends, but there's usually space to find a quiet corner. A reliable choice for a free day out with plenty to explore.”

“A lovely park with lots of options for children to have fun. We had 6 children ranging from 9 months to 8 years and all found something to do. Parking is reasonable, as is the kiosk. They enjoyed feeding the ducks, the bike track, play ground and the sand pit. More benches on the sunshine would be useful.”

    Train Station Day Nursery

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Closed

“My daughter joined the nursery 4 days a week over extended hours just before she turned 1. As a new parent I was really nervous about this but was immediately put at ease by the staff. My daughter started with a few settling in mornings and then began nursery the following week. Over the course of the 7 weeks I have seen my daughters progress updated on the ‘Famly’ app. This will tell you exactly what she has eaten and drank and how much, nappy changes and her sleep. The app is also updated with key information for the nursery along with pictures and progress of your child. I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough, when my daughter leaves for nursery in the mornings she happy to go and she comes home with a beaming smile and I can tell she’s had lots of fun. The staff at the nursery will go above and beyond to ensure not only your child is settled within the nursery but also check you are ok and send pictures and updates throughout those first few days.”

“A lovely traditional park with lots to see and do. The park has good play areas for the little ones which includes a water fountain play area in the summer months. A lovely coffee shop in the centre of the park with an ice cream van present near the play areas for most of the warmer months. There are also bowling greens, a duck pond and aviary with various types of birds to look at. Worth a visit if you're in the area and an excellent way to kill a few hours for free.”

“Our daughter currently attends Ramillies Hall Nursery and she is absolutely thriving, thanks to the kind, caring, nurturing and dedicated team of staff. The Nursery is set in beautiful surroundings which the children are lucky enough to regularly enjoy. The children spend hours outside playing, engaging in planned activities and heading off on welly walks through the grounds and fields. Communication is also spot on, if you have any concerns on drop off, the staff happily keep you updated throughout the day. You are also regularly updated with your child’s progress, including meetings and written reports and most importantly the feedback you receive, certainly in our case, highlights how well the staff know your child. Overall our daughter is happy, she loves Nursery and the staff who care for her. We couldn’t recommend Ramillies highly enough!”

“I am delighted to share my exceptional experience with Martenscroft Nursery School, an establishment that truly stands out in providing a nurturing environment for our little ones. From cleanliness to professionalism, this nursery excels in every aspect. The heart of any successful nursery lies in its staff, and at Martenscroft Nursery School, the team is nothing short of amazing. Romessa, Salma, Jo, Lucy, Fatimah, Cathy, Maragaret, Jane, all staff are great. Their dedication to the well-being and development of the children is evident in every interaction. The staff members not only love children but also exude a passion for fostering their growth. Their warmth and genuine care create a positive atmosphere that puts both parents and children at ease. Aditionally, they have an expansive space provided for the children to play, both indoors and outdoors. The thoughtfully designed play areas offer a variety of activities that cater to the diverse interests and developmental needs of the children. I truly recommend Martenscroft to other parents seeking an exemplary nursery experience for their children. And note that they have a long wait list.”

“Lovely place. Very clean especially for a public park. 2 nice fishing lakes which are gin clear. The cafe is very reasonable for a coffee (£1.60) for a proper coffee) bacon butties cooked fresh and lovely, helpful staff and regulars. I'm actually a bit reticent about giving it a good review as it's so good I want to keep it to myself. Current fishing prices: Day ticket £5 for 2 rods £8 for three available from the cafe or the bailiff. Membership is also an option at a very reasonable rate. Enquire at the cafe for details.”

“Absolutely incredible nursery. The girls are all so loving and caring and really go above and beyond. My daughter adores her setting and it’s a lovely safe space for her. Kids planet is great for SEN children and they work hard to meet all different needs of all the children. I could not be more grateful for the years my daughter has spent here, watching her grow with the help of all the staff. I would highly recommend for any parent. They communicate well to parents and carers and are always 100% when it comes to their work. A great place for any child to start their journey into education. Forever grateful.”
