“It's a fantastic park with something for everyone! The area is huge and well-maintained. There's a lovely playground for children, picnic areas with barbecue facilities for families, and clean toilets that are free to use. Parking is reasonably priced—£1.50 for 2 hours and £2.50 for a longer stay. One of the highlights is the large lake with beautiful views, perfect for a relaxing walk or just enjoying nature. Highly recommended for a day out with family or friends”

The food is halal, which makes it an easy choice for families like ours, and the hot chocolate is honestly exceptional — rich, comforting, and the perfect treat after a busy play session. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, but Maria deserves a special mention. She’s always available, incredibly professional, and her warm smile never fails to put us in a good mood. Her presence genuinely elevates the whole experience. Highly recommended for families looking for a reliable, joyful, and welcoming place for their children.”

“Our little one had the time of his life and loved every minute of it. Even as parents we were impressed with the facilities/ quality of play equipment, they sell a wide range of food and lovely seating area by the cafe that has plenty of high chairs. The tables are spaced out to allow for pushchairs/buggies. They have a role play section with plenty of soft play equipment etc. for under 5’s. Our little one loved the different sensory areas. The whole place kept him entertained for hours! We visited a second time on the way home. We only wish we had one closer to us down south as we are based in Sussex.”

“Very, very good venue. The quayside theatre is very small and intimate, but holds a good crowd. We were there to see the "Ideal" stage show (which was absolutely brilliant) and it was a great trip. Two minor issues were that it was unclear when the doors would open, leaving quite a few people like us standing outside in rain and wind, which was not Ideal (see what I did there) Also the toilet roll dispensers are utterly dreadful, where you have to try and pull it out of a very tight opening and it invariably tears close to the holder. You know the ones I'm talking about... The rosé wine is delightful...”

“Had our 1st daughters 3rd birthday party here and our 2nd daughters 4th birthday party here yesterday! It's literally the perfect party, the perfect length, kids food is good and always goes down well, great games and ample space for all kids and parents! Thank you xx”

“Amazing little gem Production was brilliant (talking heads) Great support staff It wasn't v warm but take a big coat,these places must cost a fortune to heat and at only £8 per ticket they need all funds they can get I guess Light refreshments at interval even a raffle! Parking was available on street but v full however there is a free car park 5 mins walk away it is a bit of a hill if you have mobility/health issues tho just go early and get space nearby if you able We done tlt we will be coming again”

“The BEST swim school EVER. Both of my children attend this swim school and have since being babies. My little boy swam a length aged 3 and this is down to the amazing teachers, facilities and lesson structures. Above all, Dolphin promote water safety and encourage your child to learn life saving skills from the baby stage. Couldn’t recommend Dolphin enough. Amazing.”

“My daughter started here 2 years ago and is just about to leave and move onto school. During this time she has had the most lovely care by all of the staff. They take part in some wonderful activities. To see her run to the door ( and more recently ) gave me sit outside early as she can’t wait to get in, is a credit to the staff. Thank you for always taking such good care of my daughter and I’m feeling sad to be leaving”

“Fantastic vintage gaming bar! So many options for games and you get soany tokens you are spoilt for choice. The cocktails were fantastic and themed to gaming, with the service behind the bar at the weekend fast, efficient and gorgeously presented. Plenty of places to sit and people watch if you are like me. 10/10 recommend.”

“I have took my two shih tzus to puppy dogs tails today because the groomer near me has closed. I must say they both look absolutely beautiful I have not seen them look so nice . I will definitely be returning there in future I am so happy with them”

“The best kennels around! My staffy has recently had a trial stay here for 2 nights. I used a different kennels in Bury last year and can safely say Shelleys' kennels is 10/10. The staff were so lovely on arrival, came out to the car to greet us and made both myself and my dog feel very welcome. I was shown around the kennels whilst another member of staff took my dog to play and the kennels are very clean and tidy and the facilities are brilliant! I can't recommend Shelley's kennels enough and my dog can't wait to stay again! Thank you :)”

“I cannot recommend Dogz Club enough! We got our little Dachshund just as we entered the first lockdown, so there was inevitable anxiety around a lack of socialising, but DC has ensured our pup is so confident and happy around other dogs. The staff are so attentive and update me with honest feedback whenever I ask for it. The picture/video updates during the day of all the dogs having fun, regular themed parties throughout the year and goody bags are all examples of extra touches which makes this such a great day-care. “John is the best. Used these kennels a couple of times over the last few years. The dogs seem to settle nicely and have good meals/exercise when there. John is even happy to assist with medication needs which unfortunately in her old age my collie needs now. Happy to answer the phone to put your mind at ease when on holiday!”

“Our cat Tilly, always stays here when we go away. Exceptionally friendly staff and the individual 'rooms' the cats stay in are very clean and have little doors which lead to a small outside space. Reasonably priced too. Wouldn't even consider putting Tilly anywhere else.”

“My Jasper's groomer. I wouldn't take him anywhere else. I trust her implicitly with him. I know he'll be groomed the correct way a Rough Collie should be groomed and not end up looking like another breed of dog! I see so many posts on FB from owners of Rough Collies who are bitterly disappointed when they fetch their dog from the groomer. I was fortunate in that Maxine was highly recommended by Jasper's breeder so it was a no-brainer that I chose her. I have to travel on 2 buses to get to her salon but that's no issue as Jasper loves travelling on the bus and the passengers always compliment his glorious coat.”
