We both ordered the Chicken Dum Biryani, and when Nadeem brought the dishes over, he took the time to carefully cut into the dums for us. The moment he lifted the lid, the aroma was incredible—and the biryani inside was beautifully cooked. Perfectly tender chicken, fragrant rice, and so full of flavour. His presentation made the experience feel even more special. Nadeem’s professionalism, kindness, and pride in the food truly elevated our first visit. “So I called here as I needed delivery and was so in the mood for a curry. Knutford doesn't really deliver and the one nice restaurant that does was so busy as closed due to refurbishment. So I thought if try here. I'm so glad I did, the guy who answered the phone was so helpful and helped me pick the best curry based upon the description I gave of what I wanted. I'm out of the catchment area so paid more for delivery and I would again because the food was so delicious and I haven't got 1 thing to complain about, and I complain about anything that's anything but perfect! “UPDATE. This is definitely the best Indian in Darwen. Although not on the menu, they do do a cauliflower side and tonight I even took my own aubergine. The food is always delicious and plentiful and the service is top notch. Toilets not quite finished but getting there. I wish they would bring the bill with the Bailey's. PREVIOUS We went there last night, Wednesday, at 5.30 for a change from our usual Sunday venue. We were warmly welcomed and served drinks (two pints of Cobra). The heating was on. We ordered three poppadoms (which came with a far too big a pickle tray), 2 mains from their chefs recommended specials with a vegetable rice, a garlic and cheese naan and a portion of onion bahjis. It was absolutely delicious, faultless and plentiful. Giving The Akash a run for its money? Most certainly at £42.00 with complimentary Bailey's. The decor is lovely. Miminalistic muted greys with the colourful paintings as a beautiful contrast. Not too bright. The service was discreet and professional. Not overly friendly. Downside? The toilets reaĺly do need attention to finish the refurbishment. Thank you. We will return very soon. Looking forward to their Sunday buffet which they said, is coming soon.”

The rice was perfectly cooked, aromatic with just the right balance of spices, and each bite was bursting with flavor. The mutton was incredibly tender, juicy, and infused with the rich blend of traditional spices that made the dish truly stand out. What impressed me most was the authenticity and depth of flavor it’s clear that a lot of care and skill went into preparing this dish. Served hot and fresh, it was a comforting and satisfying meal that left me wanting more. Highly recommended for biryani lovers—this place knows how to do it right! “✨Amazing Indian Vegetarian / Vegan Cafe✨ We visited for the first time today as my partner is obsessed with Chai at the moment. For drinks I had the biscoff coffee shake which was sensational, the coffee wasn’t too overpowering and the roast / blend choice was delicious. My partner had the home brewed Masala Chai which he thoroughly enjoyed, and the pot of tea he received was massive! (We stayed a bit longer just so he could finish it as it was that good) For mains we had the Indian breakfast muffin (vegan sausage, Indian spiced hash browns, and a bbq tamarind chutney) and the Chai Buckwheat pancakes which came with syrup and berries. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich, the chutney was amazing and really pulled everything together. Though I didn’t try the pancakes they were gone within minutes. Both me and my partner agreed portion sizes were bob on, we felt full without feeling overly lethargic. Though we didn’t have the opportunity to try them the cakes and Indian deli looked delicious. Our entire meal with drinks cost under £20 which I think is ridiculously reasonably priced considering the quality and portion sizes of the food and drink. (Not to mention the very quick service!) It is also worth noting they seemed to have an extensive ice cream range. All staff were super friendly, the woman serving us really seemed to care about our experience there and we were given customer service you can’t simply buy without there being a true passion for what she was serving. I would highly recommend dining here, and we look forward to visiting again.”

“Just been. Nom nom nom very tasty! We had a single meat handi which was a tender lamb curry, a mixed salad, a cheese and chilli naan, and the tandoori mixed grill. All very good, there wasn't anything left on our plates. We're very full now. The Indian soundtrack was a bit erratic, it kept skipping and stopping, but the ambience was nice and plush, the food was tasty, and reasonably priced, and the bill came out really reasonable for 2 people who have eaten as much as they physically can- £38. It was so reasonable because we didn't buy drinks- they don't have an alcohol licence yet, so they let you BYOB! So we brought a few lagers, and they provided glasses. A very good evening. They do takeaway also, and cater events, and have a banqueting hall upstairs. It's a very big building the former Greaves Arms.”
