“What a gem! Not just a micro bar. Authentic, delicious Sri Lankan home cooking. We're lucky to have this in Beeston. I had mainly the veggie dishes but the chicken was lovely too, and I'm told the mutton dish was also gorgeous. First visit and we'll be back! The food is cooked fresh on the day, you can tell it's made with love, and if you like, or want to try, Sri Lankan food, you must visit!”

“Lovely little micropub with a few kegs on tap and cask too! Well kept beer as far as I can tell. Nice local atmosphere and decor, I like that they have lots of traditional ales along with the usual craft stuff. It's all table service and the staff are friendly, for what it is the beer is also very well priced. Menu is now via a qr code. Pleased to call it my local.”

“Absolutely fantastic evening spent with my friends at The Commercial tonight. Great selection of drinks, wonderful staff, brilliant atmosphere and above all the food was outstanding! I had the lamb shank which was cooked to perfection, really tender meat, beautiful minted gravy along with the smoothest mash potato ever it was all absolutely delicious! The portion size was very generous so great value for money. Given the place was packed our waiting time was only 25 minutes. We will definetly be visiting again we all cleaned our plates! Thank you to all the staff for making our evening so enjoyable.”

Our bartender (Lauren) was so nice - we chatted to her and found out it was her first day! You would never have known, she was awesome. “Hello! This is Ella, we had a reservation today and it went wonderfully. We was a full group with 13 people including some with health and mental issues. They accommodated us perfectly, ensuring we was okay, giving us our food just in time and helping when we needed it. They were very kind and the food was absolutely divine, every piece being enjoyed by everyone in the group even the pickiest of eaters. Thank you all for the great service and food!”

“The food was great with good portion sizes. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and had the escovitch fish, prawns, cabbage, sweetcorn, carrots, plantain with rice and peas. Trevor and all of his staff were very welcoming, friendly and provided excellent customer service. We will definitely be returning to eat and 'party' at one of the themed events. “Since there's been a new manager the place has improved a great deal. Never once have I had a bad meal from here. The new staff and old one's are all very professional polite and always helpful. Even the food I've had on a takeaway basis has always been nice. Definitely one of my favourites in the area. They did a set meal with a band playing and was definitely my best night so far.”

“Great place. I am writing this review because they helped me out. I was nearby, depositing cash on atm when a drunken guy started shouting at me gibberish and threatening me with violence . I quickly ran to this place and the bouncers let me in. Not only the place protected me, but the barmaid gave me free cola after hearing what happened. These fellas deserve 5 stars for this, least I can do.”
