“Visited today for my husband’s birthday and grandparents wedding anniversary celebrations. Food was outstanding! Portion sizes are great value for money. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and even catered to my fussy 4 year old. Thank you for a lovely afternoon :)”

“Went in on a Friday night, nobody in, no takeaways cooking and was very worried but had read the good reviews on google. Glad I went in as the takeaway was the best I have had in years. Fresh and tasty food that doesn’t taste laden with MSG! Will definitely be returning!!”

“Came for breakfast. Had the breakfast bagel with a hash brown. Absolutely amazing. Ingredients were perfect. Bacon, sausage, egg with melted cheese. Beautiful cooked and presented. Very popular as well with a great atmosphere. In the words of my hero Arnie, "I'll be back!"”

“Called in here after been kicked out of a local pub because our under 9s football team were to young for the area we was stood in . We wanted lunch so left the team to celebrate a cup win in the travelers and went to the droppingwell as we used to come here loads so was happy to see it had been updated and was looking great , we was found a table even though it was really busy . We ordered food and drinks it came really quickly I had the pulled pork burger and my wife had the turkey pudding wrap both were excellent and good value . The place is good for all types of dates or occasions we are planning to book more after team meets here if we can , come on the under 9s eccesfield Spartans.”

“have not been over 3 years, mainly due to covid pandemic. we visited 1:40pm on saturday, unsurprisingly, there wasn't long queue. (probable a pub was also opened in garden centre) and plenty of empty tables. the standard of food was maintained. the fish butty was delicious, the chocolate tart and fruit cake were tasty.”

“My daughter in law had he 18th birthday party here on the 27/01/2024 which was wa great night first time of me going in to this pub but I would highly recommend it to anyone all the customers are friendly and the staff are great make you feel well come and safe ... Just want to say a very big thank you to the staff that was on this night and the two nurses that was there that helped my son that was passing out and fitting I went blank and could not do it you are all a credit to the pub and the estate keep up all your hard work and once a gain a very big thank you to you all xxxx”

“Opens early. Spacious. Lovely coffee. Have on two occasions visited and the cafe had no bread or teacakes to toast, that was disappointing and definitely not good business. We always check now before ordering coffee. Do like the place.”

“Call in now and again. Usually just for a drink. Has very nice hot chocolate the hubby always has tea. It wasn't busy when we visited was clean and tidy and the young lad was brushing up the floor of bits and spraying the tables between customers. Has a drive through but we sat in. Also has toilets and an outside eating area. It has recently had a re vamp. A fetching salmon pink colour and matching seats , very nice it looks too”

“Moved to Chapeltown in April and found it really hard to find a gym that catered to everything I worked on. Until I found this gem right on the edge of Rotherham. The staff upon my initial visit were so lovely, they walked me round without even giving it a second thought. And since joining I get greeted upon visiting and leaving and that to me is just 10/10 loveliness. The gym since I’ve joined is already being improved, they’ve added new machines, their steam room and sauna swimming has all been updated, and recently they have been doing work on the ladies section which I’ve not yet had the privilege of seeing. Which shows they have initiative in keeping the gym up to date. The classes are all great and easy to book on to, again all the staff in the classes are lovely and the gentlemen that are walking round the gym sometimes if they ever see me struggling will always come to my rescue. I love this gym and even though their hours are amazing; they don’t quite fit into my life style so I have recently also had to join a 24 hour gym as well- as but I would never choose to cancel my membership here because I just love it so much. I would only go to the other gym if I had to after these guys hours. Their pricing is so reasonable too, especially considering it includes gym, classes and access to the sauna, swimming etc”

Food was 10/10 The beef brisket Fries where that Amazing we got the recipe from the chef who was kind enough to write down for us. George one of the waiters was great help also. Don’t know the chefs name but credit to him for the incredible food Here. Would definitely Be returning Again.”

“Having a relative in the hospital up the road, finding this pub was a godsend. Excellent menu choice and unbelievable value for money. I can highly recommend the fish and chips, Gammon and the Surf and turf. Portions are spot on and the price is great. What makes the pub though are the staff. They make you feel like a regular as you order your first drink. Even though I live over 20 miles away I will make a point of continuing to visit this pub and work my way through the menu!”

“Seriously impressed. We went to the masons on Thursday for something to eat. We’ve been before and remember the pub is well decorated and has a slightly up-market feel. The pub was very quiet when we visited with two young lads serving at the bar. The menus we were given were on printer paper and the table numbers have been hand written on masking tape affixed to the tables. The menu appeared quite basic and seriously under-priced. We were therefore quite skeptical about the food and expected it be low quality and not in keeping with the up market look and feel of the masons… How wrong we were! The food had quite clearly all been freshly prepared and made from scratch in the kitchen. The portion sizes were very generous. While this is by no means haute cuisine, it was by far and away one of the best homemade pub meals I’ve had in a long time. From our experience it appears to us that the masons has recently changed management. Which hopefully explains the lack of proper menus and table numbers. While they are finding their feet I’d recommend anyone wanting a great quality and generously portioned meal pay a visit immediately! We had 2 started and 2 mains and had change from £30 - not often you can say that in 2025. A must visit.”

“Attended a a familys anniversary here yesterday. Was really surprised how friendly and welcoming all staff were. Was a little disappointed that kids had to leave at 7.30pm as we were having a great time.DJ sue was fab really great with kids couldn't do enough for you. Definitely be back.”

“We took our 5 children for an hour and ended up ordering some food for them. We don’t usually take them out to eat very often as the you boys are Autistic and the younger two also have ADHD, we often feel we are judged. This couldn’t have been further from our experience here! Dave and Vicky were amazing with the kids, they made it a fantastic experience to the point of the children wanting to cuddle them upon leaving! They went above and beyond to make them smile, what fantastic people. The food was brilliant too! Thanks so much, we will definitely visit again with the children.”

“Whilst this might not be popular with the young generation it’s a great pub with a good atmosphere. Worth booking a table on a weekend if you’re meeting friends as it can get really busy especially around the Christmas holiday period. Good range of drinks at reasonable prices for Wickersley. There’s a good sized beer garden with plenty of tables. There’s are some parking spaces at the side of the pub and the surrounding roads but it’s always very busy at the weekend.”
