“Atkinson's is one of Sheffield's gems, situated on The Moor. It's an independent department store that's been around for over 150 years. They've got all the usual department store products for your home such as clothes, soft furnishings, kitchenware, electricals, luggage, fragrances, gift items etc. Some may think it's old fashioned and I would agree, but only in the sense that it caters for shoppers in a personal way which seems to have been lost these days. Staff are always polite and available (but not pushy), allowing you to browse at your own pace. The only compromise they've made is to have concessions such as Grape Tree, Nankivells and Caffe Massarella but they fit in well. I visited one of their eateries, Angelica's Tea and Cake, upstairs which has a great selection of savoury and sweet items to have with a range of drinks. They cater for a variety of diets and, when I spoke to them about their gluten free options, they were very friendly and knowledgeable leaving me feeling confident about dining there. Atkinsons’s has outlived former rivals in Sheffield, so it's doing something right!”

“I love this shop, known it for many years. I have never been disappointed by the staff or the prices. Bargains galore. The staff are helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Stock varies but that’s the nature of charity shops, I’ve always found a bargain and prices are as good as the other local charity shops. Worth noting also that it is staffed totally by volunteers ( so don’t get paid and sometimes could be understaffed) but if I’ve asked questions I’ve been spoken to in the correct manor. I love this shop. Don’t you think it’s amazing what the force of amazing folk who donate goods and staff that work for free, can make you feel uplifted. Not forgetting what St Luke’s charity is, it’s hospice care, pray to god you never need to use the facility but support it when you can. “MENSWEAR DEPT Most of the store is dedicated to womens wear. Downstairs there is a small men's department stocking 'Bad Rhino' clothes for the bigger man. They stock not only larger sizes but also taller sizes. They sell casual clothes like t-shirts, Polo shirts, Cargo shorts, trousers & jeans. The staff are super friendly helping us find clothes that suited us but also ordering online in the store. I received an email the goods were in store the next day. No fuss just great service. I shall definitely return to buy some more. Go in, try some things on for size then get the girls to help you to order online. There the next day. Perfect !”
