“We have just completed a living room/ media/cinema room conversion with Ciaran from The Big Picture ….. the advice, time, work and effort from Ciaran during the entire project has been excellent …. from the first visit when we gave him the brief for what we wanted to achieve to the actual build itself and beyond …. Ciaran has been hands on every step of the way ….. the quality of the tech he recommended and installed was top notch and he always had our overall budget in mind ….. the passion with which Ciaran managed the build and also our expectations for what we could achieve was superb ….. Ciaran is always on hand for any queries or questions and is always quick to respond ….. overall the experience with Ciaran and his team at The Big Picture has been excellent …. the audiovisual performance delivered by his recommended setup (which includes components from the likes of Monitor Audio, Denon, Sony) truly transforms a normal functioning family living room into a home theatre experience literally at the touch of a button thanks to the Control 4 system that he also installed for us …… delivering on our brief fully Ciaran has created a living room / home theatre that is a sanctuary for me and my love of film that at the touch of a button can return to a normal living room and central hub for family living ….. It's a testament to what can be achieved when high-quality components and expert advice and installation come together to create something special ….. “We booked accommodation at Ploughcroft Cottage on the recommendation of our son and daughter-in-law. They had stayed earlier in the year, and were incredibly impressed with both the establishment and the owners. Having now stayed there ourselves, it's easy to see why. The cottage is warm and welcoming. Karen & George greeted us with tea and biscuits (including Gluten Free for my wife who is Coeliac), and we had a lovely chat with them both.They are great company. Our room was very comfortably furnished, with a large selection of hot drinks, biscuits and chocolates. Everything was finished to an exceptionally high standard, and the bed was both large and comfy. The en-suite bathroom had a great selection of toiletries, all great quality and was also finished beautifully. This was more luxury hotel standard, than simple B&B. Breakfast was both large and of exceptional quality - fresh fruit salad and juices, nice cereals, followed by an amazing full-English (full-Yorkshire?). Everything on the plate was clearly of excellent quality, and absolutely delicious. Having eaten everything which was available, I found myself unable to eat anything further for the rest of the day! There are great views from the cottage over Halifax, and the nearby pub/restaurant is lovely. Both are walkable, although you'd need to be pretty fit to do so. Needless to say I used the car. :) The stay represented excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back again, and shall look forward to further chats with Karen & George, a really lovely couple who have done their utmost to ensure a perfect stay.”

“We have travelled to Matlock nine times over the past eleven years, each time staying at local B&B's. Whilst we have enjoyed many wonderful venues, Glendon is by far the very best to date! An absolutely gem of a find! The team were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The house is beautiful and perfectly maintained. Parking is private and perfectly located at the rear of the building with direct access to the main road. The rooms are equally clean and well equipped - as well as nice and quiet, which was a lovely surprise bearing in mind the proximity to the main road. We will definitely be back!”

“Lovely cottage with amazing views. Just stayed here from Monday to Friday. Really enjoyed the facilities and no faults. Sauna and hot tub facilities on point. The owner of the property, Julia, was a friendly host and gave us a tour of her own property. Would come again.”

“We were a small group of 8. Alfred was a great guide. He did an excellent job in walking us through the history of York from the Romans to the railways and was able to link the development of the city to landmarks that we passed - with a great commentary, extraordinary historical knowledge and a lot of humourous anecdotes thrown in. One of the best walking tours I have been on and I would thoroughly recommend this tour.”

“Kevin was such a knowledgeable guide! We really enjoyed the two-hour walking tour, and it’s amazing that it was all free through the Association of Voluntary Guides of York. He took us along the Roman walls and explained the timeline of when the Romans and Vikings arrived in York, which made the city’s history so much easier to picture. Such a great way to see York definitely support these volunteers if you get the chance!”

“We had a wonderful day out on the Steam train, Whitby & the moors tour. Chris was a fantastic tour guide, full of interesting facts and information. The small group made it feel more personal as if you have a private tour guide. The trip across the moors was spectacular! The views breathtaking and Chris would stop off at points where we could get out and take pictures or just take in the amazing scenery. The whole day was brilliant, topped off with the Steam Train journey! I would highly recommend this trip with Chris. Thank you for a fantastic day.”

“Throughout our travels, we have been fortunate to experience private tours of many cities and sites throughout the world. I can unequivocally state that the tour with Adrian was the best that we have experienced. Unlike many private tours that limit their involvement to a drop off and pick up at various sites, Adrian personally guided us through the site and provided informative and entertaining information for each site. Other tour companies charge extra for such services. Throughout the day, Adrian's continuing efforts to create the most enjoyable, informative and efficient tour for my family became readily evident. From offering suggestions on where we can save time so as to maximize the number of sites, to going out of his way to park in the shade so that we can return to a cooler vehicle, his efforts were much appreciated. We went on a few other private tours in other locations during this trip to Europe, and none of those came close to the quality, experience and value of our tour with Adrian. “My wife and I spent two weeks on the boat and had a fantastic stay. We used it both as a base to explore Liverpool (it's so close to everything) and the wider North West Coast. On 'rest days' we stayed on board making the most of the beautiful weather and the Liverpool Yacht Club bar and restaurant. We thoroughly recommend it for a wonderful stay.”

“We did the black taxi tour. Hands down the best part of our trip to London! Ollie is not only super friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable—like, knew all the cool facts and hidden gems you’d never find on your own. Not to mention he is a pretty great photographer and you’ll get some awesome pictures along the trip. We got to see so many iconic sights up close and personal, and the whole experience felt really special. If you’re in London, this is a must-do! “Our tour guide, Rachel was the best! We had just come off of a fairly active cruise around the United Kingdom with 14 stops and we had already spent 2 jam packed days in London. To say we were tired is an understatement. Rachel, tailored our day with some walking and a ton of history. This lady knows London inside and out! I really wanted to see Abbey Road. She even snapped some pictures of us in the crosswalk. We also had Sunday Roast in a little pub. The perfect end to a great trip.”

“Scotland's Chauffer exceeded our expectations. When the airline canceled our flight at the last minute, rerouting us to Edinburgh instead of Glasgow, Scotland's Chauffer quickly made arrangements to meet us in Edinburgh and get us to our destination with minimal disruption. Our driver, Robert, was friendly, efficient, and turned our stressful arrival into a relaxing, pleasant journey. We were so impressed, we booked another ride for the next stage of our trip. “We had a 3 night stay to visit Edinburgh. There was off road parking available and so we made use of the regular bus service into the city centre. There was also a shop and post office within easy walking distance. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was kitted out with all the basics needed to make your stay comfy. We had our spaniel Harvey with us. There was a large park close by for walkies. The busses were dog freindly as were many of the pubs and cafés in the city. Highly recommend this homestay for an affordable city break.”

“We had the most incredible experience with King Tours Scotland! Paul, the owner, toured me and 7 friends all over Scotland, and he truly made the trip unforgettable. He was always prompt, so much fun, and fit right in with our group as if he were one of us. Paul’s knowledge of Scotland’s history is amazing, and he brings every stop to life. Some of the highlights were a walking tour of St. Andrews, exploring Glamis Castle, and discovering hidden treasures along the coast. My strength and flexibility has greatly improved, my confidence is up and I feel great about my body. I still attend adult group classes and have recently started taking private lessons to further my skills in silks and aerial hoop.”

They easily made friends and enjoyed the breaks in between. We as parents adored the final show - well done and very entertaining. Communication has always been excellent, thanks a lot, Stephen. We highly recommend this SJM activity for a summer program.”

“Can't beat a private tour. First time booking with ToursByLocals. Glad I found Matthew! Weeks before our arrival, we were back and forth selecting the best way to spend our day together for my family of 5 adults from Canada of Clan Cameron of Erracht heritage. “Really recommend Becky and her team for starting or continuing pole dance. I’ve been to a few pole schools in London and the South East, and haven’t had the same welcoming and community feeling as I have with Becky and team. I joined in Jan 2020 just before the pandemic, so only had a short time before moving online (then back in studio again) but Becky handled the transition so well and made everything as easy as possible. All 4 instructors are so friendly, patient and knowledgeable, coming to BB Pole Studio is my favourite part of my week”

“Booked an apartment for me and my partner it was a birthday surprise, my booking was very last minute and the host couldn't accommodate my requests any better than he did everything it was clean, comfortable and sorted in a matter of hours! The pictures of the apartments do not do them justice it was perfect throughout everything is on the doorstep we opted to head up the road for a massage and down to Bisons for food in the evening these were within a 10 minute radius of the apartment followed by an comfortable evening back at the apartment thank you for everything! - Nige”
