“Went in on a very wet day. We were only going to have a couple of drinks but we decided to have their cheeseboard as a small snack. It was amazing value for money, lots of crackers, cheese and grapes, with a vwry tasty chutney for some sweetness. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The icing on the cake though was the coal fire, roaring away and keeping us toasty warm.”
“Visited here with a friend I was staying with in Bangor. We found the pub had a lovely atmosphere and the waiter serving us was lovely. I ordered the lasagne, which was deliciously prepared however maybe a little overdone but still tasty. My friend had the steak ciabatta, the temp was perfect and both our plates were scraped. Would certainly return for another visit to this local pub.”
“I love this little cafe but recently we we were charged £1.50 for each additional item coming to a total of £9 on top of our bill. We had asked for bacon (were given 2 each) and tomato added as extras with our poached eggs. I feel that charging £1.50 per individual item eg per rasher of bacon and for a small piece of tomato, is a bit too much. Other than that this is a lovely little cafe with great food and people. I was just taken aback by the bill on that particular day.”
“It's a karaoke pub and honestly the atmosphere was great. Young or old everyone participates and everyone appreciates.”
“I stopped by here for lunch a couple of months back and couldn't believe how good the food was. So much so that I talked my family into getting the family platter and has now become a regular thing. Have tried pretty much everything off the menu and haven't been disappointed. If I have any negatives it would be, on one occasion I think they ran out of chicken and I had a 40 min wait on more being cooked(I assume it's oven cooked then grilled) but it was resolved well and I would have waited anyway. Staff are great, friendly and willing to help. The selection of sauces set out for people to try is a great idea for people who've never been before. Hands down the best place for a cheat day!”
“It's a small cafe and can be quite busy, I really enjoyed their cappuccino, the staff are friendly and brought the coffee over to my table. I haven't eaten in here but the food did look good so I would definitely be tempted to buy food here next time I visit.”
“Myself and my husband decided to stay here for our 1 year anniversary and it did not disappoint. The spa is absolutely amazing and not too over crowded, the food was fantastic. The service from all the staff from we checked in to we left was excellent. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the room was extremely warm, however there was a fan provided. But overall it was amazing and we will definitely return.”
“Had lunch here on 02/09/2025. Marvellous variety on the starters/lightbites menu - loads of unusual dishes, so we were spoiled for choice. Chose beef nachos and the crab claws in an Asian sauce with a cheese and onion bap. Everything was delicious, well presented and great portions. The sauce with the crab was so tasty, I used my teaspoon to eat it like a soup. Excellent altogether.”
“Visited the pickie pumpkin patch on Sunday 27th Oct. It was fantastic fun. My 6 year old grandson loved every minute of it. From choosing his pumpkin and getting it carved, to petting a snake. The exploris pop up aquarium was very informative and the guy who was telling us all the facts made it fun too which the kids enjoyed. My grandson got on all the free rides, we all got on the pickie puffer and the swans and then when we went into the cafe for a warm drink and snack, there was a lady dressed up and singing spooky songs. She was fantastic. All in all it was a brilliant day and i would definitely return!!!”
“First time I’d been here and not disappointed. It was a group dinner, 50 or so of us, and everything was delivered swiftly, all the mains were hot, all the puddings hot or cold as they should be, and everything looking as fresh as though it was the only meal they’d prepared. It was all delicious and very well cooked and presented. The atmosphere was beautifully calm for such a large area and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Although we were in a big group I felt as personally cared for and valued by the staff as though I was the only person there, and others in the group agree. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to all the lovely staff.”
“We had a ball here last week. Food and pre gig drinks. It's right next to The Court house venue so perfect location. Food was good. Nice cocktails. Our server was so nice. Lovely girl. Made the evening for us.”
“This beautiful pub and restaurant is an absolute find, so much so we had our wedding reception here. The location overlooking the most beautiful little harbour with stunning views from an outside deck area is well worth visiting for this alone however the main reason to go is the food it is exceptional, I have worked in 5* restaurants and hotels and can safely say this place is second to none, just wonderful. The staff are amazing, nothing is a bother whatever you want that's available to them they will get for you. Paul the manager went above and beyond for us on our wedding day and prior to it, anything we wanted he sourced for us. If you are looking for an absolute hidden gem off the beaten track head to this wonderful little picturesque pub / restaurant for excellent value for money, exceptional food and service also atmosphere then you're on to a winner here. We cannot wait to go back soon.”
“Had a lovely breakfast here. Came just as it opened so was very quiet. Staff were friendly. Bit chilly upstairs (just opened obviously) but then they lit the log burner for us.”
“Absolutely loved my visit here with my husband and children. My kids loved their sausage rolls and buns and my husband said it was the nicest sausage roll he's had. I thoroughly enjoyed mine too, the staff was exceptional! So friendly couldn't fault them whatsoever. The decor was beautiful. We can't wait to go back again another day. Had such a great experience”
“Old shool music and always busy. Michael is a great owner who will always go the extra mile for anything needed. Some great drink offers and if you pass on a saturday daytime pop in for a cocktail. Good weather the windows open at the front and its always busy!!”
“Excellent place. Dog friendly ... The menu is quite large and good. Lots of attractive options. I would say prices are above average, but I think it is really worth it. The backyard is fantastic for sunny days. We'll definitely go again!”
“Absolutely some of the best food we've ever eaten! My boyfriend and I came for a meal this evening and were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from Ethan who served both our drinks and food. The service was 10/10, Ethan was so polite and friendly. We had squid and mac and cheese to start (both absolutely beautiful), followed by chicken and chorizo cajun pasta, and a ribeye steak. The steak was cooked to PERFECTION, it literally melted in your mouth, the best steak we've ever had for sure! We'll 100% be back if we're ever in Bangor again, 10/10 for everything, no faults whatsoever! Xx”
“Lovely pub which pours a great pint of Guinness The best part is the staff. Very nice and friendly. It is also dog friendly up to like 9pm. Before then. On the weekend it does get nosier for the dog though.”
“Lovely little bar in Bangor. Parking is a tad difficult but a side street does the job and no need for a parking ticket either. Food was excellent and was brought out quickly. Service initially was a tad slow but not enough to hinder the experience. The area we were in for food was quiet enough but definitely seemed like a lot of life in the next room (maybe the main bar area?) Anywho, would highly recommend for a feed. We got 2 courses for £19 each on a Saturday night and was very happy with that. Fish was absolutely fantastic and a great homemade curry to go along with it. Salt and chilli beef to start was great too, not chewy at all and full of flavour. Would highly recommend”
“The guy in here is what makes this chain coffee shop feel like an independent, I'm sorry I don't have his name because he deserves a raise. He treats everyone the same, whether they're regulars with names swapped, or infrequent callers like me. What an asset to the chain.”
“Thank you for assisting my parents today, you are an asset to our community. 5⭐️”
“Been calling on here for a pre-work coffee on and off for a good while now. I like the bright airy atmosphere and the staff have almost always set the place apart. Attentive and helpful they will usually make it a nice experience to call in. To anyone familiar with Costa, the food and coffee options will be familiar and are of a decent standard.”
“This. This is the one. Best Starbucks in Bangor hands down. Only store that consistently actually reads your order/sticker FULLY and adears to it!! Will be sticking to this store from now on!”
“Good for a few essentials friendly helpful staff”
“Lovely food, great service, Helen the owner is lovely and very friendly, highly recommend this wee place”
“While staying at the Culloden we sat up in the drawing rooms several nights for drinks and fireside chats. Beautiful rooms, all the staff were helpful and quick. I guess I didn't take as many pictures as I thought but we really liked the different gins from Jawbox.”
“Lovely and friendly people working there and they have got good offers on”
