“Haven't been here for a while and we hit it on a day when luckily enough the tide was out. We were able to reach the island but beware, if the tide has just gone out the causeway can be quite slippery. It gets better as it dries of course. Great scenery but sad to see empty beer cans and plastic bottles way out here as there are plenty of litter bins back at the well kept car park. There are also plenty of seats and picnic tables. Definitely a nice walk but only if the tide is out.”

“Finally visited the last WWT centre I had yet to see. There are the usual attractions for families, an excellent cafe and shop and plenty of hides. Not the best time of year to visit but we saw plenty of waders. Highly recommended if you have any interest in birds and/or little people to keep entertained.”

“Big and beautiful park. Here are a pond, playground, football field, a lot of benches. It’s a nice location for a cozy family picnic as well. Public WC is available”

“Well kept and safe and secure. Council keep the park looking lovely, spotless and litter-free. Be careful of the security man who locks up and keeps the park safe because he nearly knocked a child down once after the Moira junior Parkrun.”

“Lots of walks all on the flat and plenty to see. Great children's play park and picnic tables near the visitor centre. Also a lovely sensory garden with great wooden animal sculpture. There are two hides for those interested in birdwatching. There are also two cafes, one at the visitor centre and one at Kinnego Marina”

“Excellent lunch time offer.A small pizza of choice with chicken caesar salad, plus a little cup of delicious Minestrone soup for a very decent price. Staff very pleasant and attentive. “This is my favourite café in Belfast. It is simple, straightforward and down to earth. The breakfast is wonderful, well cooked and not greasy. I've also had a couple of the lunch options - fish and chips and chicken goujons. Both were excellent. Lovely curry sauce, none of this fruity business, good little lick off of it. They take card or cash. The staff are very efficient yet you don't feel rushed. Far better than the like of Bob and Bert's. First class. Very highly recommended!”
