“Nice flat walk around a small reservoir. Toilets open all day until 6pm. Small visitor centre selling drinks and snacks also local maps. Lots of opportunity to extend your walk in all directions. Parking was £1 in an honesty box at the visitor centre.”

“I’ve been taking my puppy to It’s a Dog Life for 5 months now, one day a week, and they are always so flexible if I need an extra day. The cost is so reasonable compared to a dog walker, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s cared for all day while I’m at work. The staff are amazing – especially Louise, who my dog absolutely adores! He’s always so excited when we pull up, and often doesn’t want to leave. He’s also had a groom here and it was excellent. In fact, when I took him for a last-minute bath at Pets at Home, they asked who groomed him and said it was one of the best they’d seen. I would honestly be lost without this service. Highly recommend!”

“Absolutely beautiful building with such a rich history. Most know that the most famous owner was Ann Lister but the building is very old and has some fabulous examples of medieval architecture. Well worth a visit a true gem. We did a guided tour which was so informative and the guides were brilliant. The grounds are immaculate and the park is full of things to do and see. If you haven't been to Shibden you are missing out.”

“I had some time to kill between the hotel kick out time and the event I was going to so I thought I would go exploring, with my camera in hand. What an absolute find Manor Heath Park was! Watching the wildlife playfully flitting about, seeing a wide array of fabulous doggos, and being surrounded by a plethora of beautiful flowers was just an ideal way to spend my Sunday morning. I can only imagine how beautiful it all looks when fully in bloom come spring time. I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.”

“I had an amazing time in paris disneyland with stagecoach halifax. The principle alex and chaperones cerri and other members of the crew was amazing allways kind friendly and helpfull. we had some early starts and alot of walking one part to another but it was all worth it in the end fantastic performances from the children absolutely amazing to see all there hard work. I think it would have been good if there was an option to travel on a plane without still paying for the full price of the coach. Onwards on upwards looking forward to many more trips with stagecoach.”

“Full five stars from me if I would give more I definitely would, my little boy has started in the baby room he is 6 months and he absolutely loves it. He has settled in so well, he loves all the staff in the nursery as I was worried he wouldn’t bond with anyone as he only wants me at home, The nursery is clean and well looked after the food that is offered to him is from a range of different cultures and part of a healthy diet. All the staff are so kind and friendly and the management are amazing, they Always answer any questions that I have and listen to anything I have to say. I would definitely recommend this nursery. “A HIDDEN GEM! I use the park regularly for walking the dogs or taking the kids to play football and use the playground equipment. The park is home to a lovely woodland walk that provides great opportunities for nature photography. For the runners out there, the Parkrun is an absolutely fantastic event which takes place every Saturday morning attracting runners from far and wide. Enjoy orienteering? Well thanks to the East Pennine Orienteering Club, the park now has 3 virtual orienteering courses which can be accessed using the MapRun app on your mobile device. Various events held throughout the year such as the recent Halloween Trail which my family thoroughly enjoyed. The park has an active Friends of Group and a number of improvement works have already taken place following public consultation events and the formation of a development group made up of local services in Calderdale and North Halifax. These improvements include the restoration of the monument/fountain feature, resurfacing of the main paths within the park, a number of robust picnic benches being put in, larger waste bins, a volunteer bin with a code locked compartment which holds litter picking equipment for community volunteers to access. Overall I'd highly recommend a visit. It doesn't have the reputation of some of the better known parks in Calderdale but Shroggs really is a lovely little place, steeped in history and the perfect outdoor location to enjoy time with the family, or even some wind down time on your own with a stroll as I often do myself. My one real issue is down to a minority of irresponsible dog owners resulting in a ridiculous amount of dog muck which either myself or another parent has to remove from the main football pitch on a Sunday morning so the kids can enjoy their matches without the risk of sliding in it. Usually enough to fill a carrier bag.”

“We attended the Halloween party at Airtime. Our boys had a fantastic time, the event was really well organised and helped create a safe and fun environment. We frequently visit airtime during the school holidays. It’s an ideal place for our boys to burn off some energy and have a fun time bouncing around. Great work by the staff at airtime as always.”

“I mainly only use this shop for aquatic supplies and fish. Prices are good parking is good but some times the tanks look like they have been forgotten for a few days it can be off putting to see dead fish in so many tanks.”

“I’ve taken my 2 dogs to the groom room in Halifax for quite some time now and always had positive experiences. Since my oldest dog passed away I took my 1 year old dog Minnie and Scott did her groom, it’s the first time we had met Scott . He did the full works bath,nail clip and groom . Her fur was very over grown and due to her cross breed Jack Russell/pom - she’s not the easiest to get right as she’s part wire haired but also has the fluffy ears and tail of a Pom. When I picked her up I was very pleased with the job he had done! He used a seaweed shampoo which gave her such lovely soft finish to her fur. The way he had trimmed her was perfect . Very vigilant and patient , and he took great care of her and understood her nervous temperament. I highly recommend .”

“A beautiful, very inviting space, with very friendly staff; best Polish store I've seen in the UK. Amazing choices of meat and cheese from the deli counter, too. When, unable to read Polish, I was at a loss while looking for a particular item, one of the very helpful ladies there showed me what I wanted.”

“Great location as at a function in The Arches. Caution on parking, good but payable as not part of the Travelodge. However doesn't seem obvious you have to pay so I didnt notice at first and hopefully haven't got a charge. Rooms a little tired but perfectly clean. No breakfast but cafes right outside.”

“Admittedly I hadn't been to Shibden Park in about 30 years, so it was nice to call in here for breakfast on our bank holiday weekend visit to my homeland. My partner had the large breakfast, which for the price was excellent. Lovely hashbrown! My teen daughter had the medium and I had a bagel and creme cheese. We have cappuccinos and an English tea. Plenty of seating outside and in, dog friendly both inside and out too. I am pleased I got to experience the cafe and park again in a less busy climate. Beautiful place full of memories ✨️”
