“Absolutely delighted to have had this place recommended to me by my dog trainer. We have an incredibly anxious cockapoo and I never really believed we'd be able to leave her happily. She had a day visit to Croftmount followed by just a one night stay to see how she got on before we booked her in for longer. She ate well, looked relaxed in the photographs of her outside and even enjoyed cuddles. When we went to pick her up she went over to the lady who'd been looking after her to give her a nose bump first before she enthusiastically greeted us. I feel 100% confident leaving my dog at Croftmount and recommending it to others.”

“I’ve been taking my puppy to It’s a Dog Life for 5 months now, one day a week, and they are always so flexible if I need an extra day. The cost is so reasonable compared to a dog walker, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s cared for all day while I’m at work. The staff are amazing – especially Louise, who my dog absolutely adores! He’s always so excited when we pull up, and often doesn’t want to leave. He’s also had a groom here and it was excellent. In fact, when I took him for a last-minute bath at Pets at Home, they asked who groomed him and said it was one of the best they’d seen. I would honestly be lost without this service. Highly recommend!”

“Though I've only visited the grounds, the atmosphere is stunning and the few interactions I had with the staff were fantastic. They were professional and welcoming. Based on what I've seen, this looks like a truly great place to stay and dine in Halifax.”

“The hotel and staff were awesome, and the room was spotless, plus the hallway smelled amazing. But, I was bummed that the pool and gym were closed until noon, which was when I had to check out, even though I thought they'd be open. Also, the outlet in my room, 131, didn't work, and some of the furniture needs to be replaced because it's getting old.”

“Location was perfect, 5 mins drive from Hudderfield Private Hospital. Hotel and room very clean and well equipped. The staff, especially Maggie and Sarah were delightful. Very friendly and professional. We had received some unsettling news and needed to get off some urgent emails. They assisted and were extremely helpful and empathetic. Housekeeping were ace too and slipped a courtesy note under our door, would we like our room xleaned, we had forfotten to pop the Do not disturb sign on the door. Ibraham was in attendance behind the bar and he too was a joy. We are returning to the area in the very near future and without doubt this is where we will choose to stay. Entirely exceeded our expectations.”

“Great location as at a function in The Arches. Caution on parking, good but payable as not part of the Travelodge. However doesn't seem obvious you have to pay so I didnt notice at first and hopefully haven't got a charge. Rooms a little tired but perfectly clean. No breakfast but cafes right outside.”

“We had our wedding reception here. Very reasonably priced and did not try to rip us off like many wedding venues do. Paul was super helpful and good discount on rooms for our guests. The function room was beautifully set up. Many thanks from Adi, Steve and guests xxx”

“Excellent priced hotel, straight outside the train station. Me and my Wife booked in for the night as we were going to a show at the Victoria Theatre just 5 minute walk away. Very speedy check in and out. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. A good night sleep had by us both. Paid £44 for a Saturday night, whats not to like.”

Comfortable and tastefully decorated historic home. Superb views and to complete the stay one of the best full English breakfasts we have had. “The food here is exceptionally good. It’s classic gastropub fare, but made with high-quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. Beautifully presented too, with great service and a lovely atmosphere. I didn’t love the vibe upstairs—it felt a bit flat—so I’d recommend asking for a table downstairs to enjoy the open fire, the beautiful architecture, and the buzz.”

“It's the first time I have been to the Milestone. I went with my sister and her husband. I must say we throughly enjoyed ourselves. The service, food and atmosphere was great. The food is reasonably priced but good quality. I had fish and chips. Probably the best I have had for a very long time. If you're close by try it.”

“Pippa was great with our two from the moment we booked. Little walks, daycare, and single night stop over to help get to know each other. Then, when the stay came, a good amount of feedback, photos and videos let us know they were enjoying being with her and the other dogs she cared for. Definitely hope to use again next year.”

“Lovely couple running the B & B, very warm and welcoming. We had a dog with us, the owners had done their work before hand and knew the dog before we arrived. Beds are warm and comfortable, and free wifi was good too. We will be using them again. Thank you for lovely stay.”

“A lovely little B&B, only a couple of minutes' walk from the centre of town. Rooms are very well appointed with en-suite facilities, microwave and tea/coffee making. Travis House is owned and run by a very friendly local couple who know everything about the area. The rooms are very reasonable in price (I paid £45 for a twin room, per night). An excellent cooked breakfast is included in the price. Highly recommended, I will definitely stay again!”
