“All I wanted was a soup to go . If you have ever requested this , from anywhere . It's not also available. Even rarely. There was tomato and chilli which I have. With brown bread and plenty of butter. Just how i like it . Or chicken and sweet corn . Again another top soup I would choose. Then the sweet slice . Mint cream . I had to get it. And the display then just shone. Everything looking more delicious then the next . I ended up choose a honey comb , road or something and a chocolate covered flap jack . And of course coffee to go”

“The lady, who I'm assuming is the owner, was a lovely essentric welcoming host who runs a very quirky little establishment serving a wide variety of coffee roasts and lovely baked goods. I was fortunate to get some freshly baked scones...straight of the oven, and hey not traditional and puffed up, still tasted lovely. Recommend the Rwandan beans if you get a chance to try it. Nice attention to detail across the decor and crockery.”

“A great place to sit and watch the world go by. The staff are really friendly and kind, nothing is too much. They really put me and my dog at ease and were really happy for us to enjoy the lovely ambience they created. Would definitely go back again.”

“We visited 27/10/25 for the Spooks event during half term. We visited Trick or Treat Street, The pumpkin patch, The Rustic Garden for the School of Evil show and food, the bouncing pillows, the animal barns and the Soft Play. Trick or Treat Street was great, you move as a small group and knock on the doors for a Trick or a Treat. The characters were great and included all children. The School of Evil show was great. The kids age 6 and 7 really enjoyed this and the dance moves. They even got the adults up dancing too and gave time at the end for pictures, I noticed they made an effort with each child which was lovely. We got coffees and food from the food truck. The coffees at £3 each were disappointing and the bar coffee machine wasn't working. Our meals were nice. The children's portion sizes were decent sized, good enough for an adult. The pumpkin patch is good and one of the less muddy ones, with some lovely photo opportunities. Pumpkins not included and these are extra. There was a pumpkin carving area in one of the barns so you could carve on the day if you wished. There are a couple of animal areas, but I feel that these are lacking compared to other farms. We love animals so it would be nice to have some more areas. The soft play is large and the kids really enjoyed it. We were glad we ate at the rustic garden as the queue was so long and the QR option to order from your table wasn't working. But they do offer a larger selection of food here. All staff at the farm were friendly and pleasant. As it was half term it was busy just queuing in at opening, yet staff remained friendly to everyone despite the constant queue. We have visited Thornton Hall several times before and have enjoyed ourself each time.”

“Great dryish walk on a wet day. Flat surface and even path, suitable for all. Lots of shrubs, little ponds and interesting wildlife on the small lake here. There can be some big puddles and runoff. If you’re lucky you might see a plane takeoff or landing. 0.8 miles per lap and free car parking.”

“A lovely park for all the family regardless of age. Lots of seating. Great play area. Walk by the water, sit in the green areas or take the dog for a run. There's plenty of space to kick a ball around too.”

“The guided tours are excellent. The volunteer guides are friendly and knowledgable and you get to see the backstage areas and dressing rooms in addition to the auditorium. The intricate Victorian machinery beneath the stage to operate the trapdoors is especially interesting. And you get a free coffee or tea afterwards.”

“Buon Apps is situated in a beautiful location next to the River Wharfe. The food we had was of a very high standard, and we were really impressed by the service. The restaurant has a great vibe about it and feels very authentic. Prices are slightly above average. There is a small section inside the main restaurant where you can buy genuine Italian chocolate and biscuits. Buon Apps comes highly recommended. There is ample car parking right next to the restaurant.”

“Had a date night here on a Saturday and thought the food was delicious! Service was great and portions were pretty good too. The sea bass and calamari were the best dishes we had. It’s worth noting that they prefer cash and there is a cash machine a few minutes down the road. Decor is great and seems like a lovely busy family restaurant.”

“I recently visited this Italian restaurant and was really impressed by how fast and reliable the service was. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Our food came out quickly, perfectly hot, and exactly as we ordered it — no delays or mix-ups at all. Beyond the excellent service, the food was absolutely delicious! The pasta was fresh, the sauces were full of flavor, and the portions were generous without feeling overdone. “Visited for the first time this evening to celebrate my parents birthdays & we will certainly be back. The food was delicious with massive portions & the staff were so lovely and accommodating! An absolute little gem of a place :) (Also noticed lots of gluten free items on the menu, I have a friend with a serious gluten allergy so it was lovely to see a wide variety of food they could eat, will deffo bring them in the future!!)”

“A great reserve to walk round, the volunteers are doing a grand job tidying, repairing, planting. Check when the cafe is open and what's on, there's reserve walks and I've been to the otter talk very interesting. Dogs welcome on lead (have recall) as it's a nature reserve and trying to bring back and welcome the wildlife, poo bin there but gets full. Free car park other side of the canal”

“I moved to Pudsey about a year ago, and this was my first time trying The Bearded Sailor. I have to say, everything was top-tier quality , from the lightning-fast and friendly service (even when busy) to the lovely, tender, perfectly battered fish and the flavoursome homemade tartar and curry sauces. Everything about this chippy oozes quality. Easily the best in the surrounding area, if not all of Leeds.”

“Brilliant play area with a large selection of apparatus for the kids. Some new things have been installed since the last time I went, and the new swings are fantastic! There's a fabulous walk around the lake and in the woods, and if you're interested, there's also a golf course and archery!”

“Absolutely beautiful building with such a rich history. Most know that the most famous owner was Ann Lister but the building is very old and has some fabulous examples of medieval architecture. Well worth a visit a true gem. We did a guided tour which was so informative and the guides were brilliant. The grounds are immaculate and the park is full of things to do and see. If you haven't been to Shibden you are missing out.”

“Just had to share how amazing Polinos in Halifax is! We've been there a few times now, and it's totally become our go-to spot when we want to make something special. The food is just incredible—like, the pizza and pasta are next-level delicious. But let's talk cocktails for a sec. They're fantastic and honestly worth the trip alone. You've got to try the Mai Tai cocktail—it's absolutely stellar! The service is fantastic and personal, making you feel genuinely valued every time you visit. The staff really go above and beyond to make your dining experience special. If you're a steak lover, you're in for a treat. The steaks are cooked perfectly every single time. We even tried the large tomahawk sharing steak, and it was phenomenal—melt-in-your-mouth goodness! And for the size of that thing, it's actually reasonably priced. Oh, and the views! You get this beautiful landscape of the Calder Valley while you dine. It's seriously the perfect backdrop. Honestly, Polinos is well worth a visit. It blows any other Italian spot in town out of the water. Highly recommend!”

“My walk to the waterfall took about an hour. I walked slowly, trying to capture every beautiful corner with my camera. I was lucky with the warm and sunny weather — everything felt alive with summer. On the way, I was greeted by sheep, and photographing them was a joy of its own. If you’re looking for a place for a photoshoot, go to the waterfall — you’ll definitely take unforgettable shots. And if you simply want to escape the hustle and bustle, this is also the perfect spot to recharge.”

“Delicious, fresh and homemade food (some of the best pasta I've ever eaten). Great, attentive service. Beautiful building. Very nice espresso martini! We were really pleased with our meal which we had when visiting Hebden Bridge to celebrate a big occasion. We couldn't have picked somewhere better! We were staying very close by so walked into town but the restaurant is situated near some parking places for those driving in.”

“I buy all my Cat food. Usually in cases of 80 packets, also large sacks of cat litter and birdfood, the staff on the tills always offer to get someone to help me carry them. I find all the staff very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.”
