“First visit for Sunday lunch. Had roast beef and chicken Sunday lunch platter for 2. Plenty food, jug of tasty gravy each. Absolutely so tasty traditional Sunday lunch, great presentation,great value for money, lovely friendly staff Nice size bistro with lovely decor, We enjoyed so much we have rebooked for next Sunday !”

“A proper pub that hasn't changed in many many years and is all the better for it. No gimmicks or karaoke nights , simply a place for conversation and good beer. The outdoor seating is plentiful but on can be very busy on the odd hot sunny day that we get. Plus there is now a mobile handmade pizzeria at the side of tad beer garden. So that's good beer , seating & food covered.... nothing else required. Enjoy.”

The bill came to £71 for all four including drinks. We left £80. Superb value at £20 per head. Tremendous!”

“Fantastic flavours of tea and chocolate. Just the right amount of ginger in the ginger chai, a lovely French vanilla latte, proper hot chocolate that's actually hot, and a lovely coffee. Next time we'll stop for the cakes or food, but today just the drinks were lovely. Sumaye was super friendly too. We'll definitely be back.”

“I have driven past this pub so many times but never been in. Me and my sister were taking the mother to Readmans (next door). We parked up, my sister suggested we pop into the pub for a drink before Readmans. So, in we pop. As we had parked at the back of the building, you don’t get the best impression of the pub. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but as soon as we stepped inside, I was impressed. All thoughts of having lunch anywhere else were immediately expelled. The pub had a busy dining area but we chose a quieter spot. This is an absolutely fantastic pub, I will definitely be making more stops here in future. Great menu, food and very friendly service. The food is top notch! One tiny observation is my crumble to apple ratio is the complete opposite of the chefs. I like a lot of crumble and custard when I order apple crumble. Having said that all of the ingredients in our 3 meals were good quality and generous. I want to return for Sunday lunch and the pub quiz.”
