Bar pub in Shoreham-by-sea

“A great little Bar-Restaurant located not far from the River Adur. It has a decent variety of local beers, ales, and gins. There was a reasonable amount of indoor and outdoor seating for its size. With outdoor seating, it leaves you in a great atmosphere, especially when the sun is shining and the nice cool breeze from the river hits you. The food I had was very tasty and freshly cooked. There's a good mixture of choices of options on the menu depending on your preferences. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. The number of toilet facilities was fairly limited for both male and females. Overall, everything was fairly priced. I had a pleasant experience on this visit, so I would definitely like to visit again.”

“Lovely staff and owner, great layout. Proper old boozer but not awkward like some are nowadays (as a young person!) Fireplace, dogs, good Guinness, what else could you ask for.”

“Lovely ambience, a view over the river Adur. Nice comfortable seating, pool table, and function room upstairs. Also, a snooker table. An extensive menu, good food. I had the chicken curry. Excellent pint of Guinness. Nice friendly staff. Car park at the front and the side. Excellent steak meal. Great Sunday roast.”

“Great micro pub run by a lovely couple. Nicely curated gravity driven cask beer, although there is a 2 line keg as well (one lager and one keg ale). Plus, there are plenty ciders, which personally I hate but they have plenty and my friends were very happy with their choices.”

“Perfect airport cafe/restaurant with REAL art deco look and feel and panoramic views of the airfield, plus outside terrace to take the sun. We were there for cafe visit and were served by friendly, helpful staff. Good coffees. Tea in teapot and Danish Pastries to die for - ming that waistline!”

“Travelled to Shoreham to meet a friend and watch Brighton v Chelsea and I've got to admit, was not pleased when he suggested meeting here - train station pubs, usually to be avoided. But had a lovely time. Big bar, very spacious, lots of good TVs, and nice and warm. Def come here again.”

“Stopped by for a quick half and to use the toilet. Was a quiet little local boozer in the afternoon, didn't have food so couldn't review. Looks like they do burgers and roasts aswell as karaoke nights. Gents toilets were ok, didn't smell particularly or anything”

“Had a works leaving do here Friday. Great place with friendly staff, good selection of drinks, especially wines. Food was amazing as it was the last time we went there. Tapas style food and everything was delicious. We will definitely be back!!”

“I hadn't been to the Swiss Cottage in years and was pleasantly surprised. It has a large car park which was a great bonus for me. The food was very good, hot and cooked to order. There were a lot of choices and many special offers. They also had so many gluten free options. My friend said her meal was good and tasty. The staff were very attentive and there was a lovely warm atmosphere about the place. I will definitely be returning especially for the Fizz Fridays offers”

“Our waitress Debbie was absolutely perfect. She was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring throughout our visit. She asked about allergies, checked that our meals were okay, and made sure we had everything we needed. When my 85-year-old mother felt cold by the window, Debbie kindly moved us to a warmer spot. She finished by saying it was lovely to see us and wished us well as we left. The food was fine and the drinks were served quickly, but it was Debbie’s warmth and attention to detail that really stood out.”

“Always a great place to spend time and dine with friends/family. Very spacious seating areas, always friendly and attentive staff. Plenty of parking. The food is excellent and we will be returning again. As of writing this review the inaugural Oktoberfest menu has started and I couldn't be happier !”

“A lovely pub right by the sea. Old and inside it goes on and on with a pool room, darts room, and a downstairs that leads to the sea/river. Standing outside you can be by the river. Inside, you cannot see the river due to the wall outside, yet still a lovely space inside because it has so much light. Our server, Leo, was excellent and gave you the impression that nothing was too much. A masterclass in serving customers. I gave the venue 5-star for the service. Unfortunately, I had to rate the food much less. We ordered the mussels, two lots, and the mussels were very small, overcooked, and the 'classic sauce was watery and did not have a great flavour. I wanted it to be a great dish, as we really love mussels, but alas it was not. Shame.”

“Not just for one meal but going there since refurbishment totally consistent the greeting from Hannah (Land Rover girl) and the rest of the staff, the food that doesn’t cost a fortune and is way above the average pub standard and good value.
