βThe best thing we have ever done. James and Joanna are fabulous teachers and the lessons are good fun. We laugh a lot . Having a date night every Friday to start the weekend and keep fit, what's not to love?β
βI recently received my paddle board from this company. Itβs perfect for myself and my friends and family to use this summer. It comes with everything you need and is easy enough in inflate and deflate. Great quality and lots of fun.β
βA Heartfelt Tribute to Fat Sams Nightclub: The End of an Era As I reflect on my recent visit to Fat Sams Nightclub for its final night, I am filled with both nostalgia and deep gratitude for the remarkable venue it has been. My relationship with the club spans over two decades, having had the pleasure of assisting in a small way with setting up an old sound system when it first opened its doors. Even though I had a minor involvement, the memories I have from those early days and the more recent experiences are rich and meaningful. Visiting Fat Sams for its farewell was both a bittersweet and joyous occasion. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was reminded of the warmth and friendliness that defined this venue. The staff, from security to bartenders, were not only professional but also genuinely approachable and welcoming. Security personnel were vigilant but maintained a pleasant demeanor, striking the perfect balance between ensuring safety and contributing to the atmosphere. The bar staff, quick and efficient, delivered service with a smile, adding to the inclusive, friendly vibe that Fat Sams has always been known for. Despite the passage of time, the venue itself remained largely unchanged in its layout, preserving the character that made it unique. Yes, the space was small, with a familiar pinch point near the bar and gents' toilets, but that never detracted from the overall experience. The separate dancefloor and disco area maintained the vibrant energy I fondly remembered. It was as if the spirit of the place had been carefully preserved, even as the years passed. I understand that in recent times, Fat Sams, like many other nightclubs, struggled with lower footfall. The changing landscape of nightlifeβfewer young people drinking, and the rise of venues like Wetherspoons that cater to a different crowdβundoubtedly presented challenges. As someone who operates a venue myself, I empathize deeply with the difficulty of keeping a nightclub afloat during quiet periods. It's heartbreaking to witness the decline of a place that you've poured your heart and soul into, especially when the passion and effort to maintain high standards are evident at every turn. I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by the quality and care evident in every aspect of Fat Sams during my last visit. From the state-of-the-art Void sound system to the computerized lighting setup, the venue was not only modern but impeccably maintained. Shaun and his team clearly invested a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that everything remained top-notch. Their commitment to creating a great atmosphere, even in the face of quieter nights, is a testament to their dedication and passion for the industry. It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the closure of one of the last rural nightclubs in the Southwest. Fat Sams will undoubtedly be missed by its loyal patrons who partied there for years, right up until the very end. The final night was a fitting tribute to the club's legacy, with the hardcore supporters staying until the early hours, myself included. It felt only right to be one of the last to leave, having been part of the journey in some small way, and to celebrate the end of an era. To Shaun and the entire team at Fat Sams, I offer my utmost respect and sincere gratitude. Your tireless efforts to maintain a venue that was always welcoming, fun, and meticulously operated did not go unnoticed. Though the doors have now closed, the memories made there will live on. Iβm proud to have revisited and stood with you until the very end. Thank you for the many years of joy, music, and unforgettable nights. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors, and much respect for the incredible work you've done over the years. Fat Sams may be gone, but it will never be forgotten. With deepest gratitude, Paul Stoodleyβ

βLocal bar, with a large selection of ciders and gins, also has several tv screens and a large screen to show sports. Nice atmosphere to have a chat with mates. Watch out for rugby days as it does get very busy, on the upside they do sell 3 pound Guinness and ciders during home gamesβ

βA fabulous quirky indoor Market with lovely small stalls. Reminds me of something we use to have in my home town back in the 80's. We actually visited the cafe Witcher's Cauldon, within the Market for their Β£2 breakfast and for Β£2, which included coffee/tea it was rather good! Friendly and helpful service.β
βNot from the area but this was the closest pub to where we were staying and we thought the Landlord was polite and welcoming and we had a nice evening (he even paid for me to put some music on). Only thing I can say that was a negative is that he won't allow well behaved dogs in (didn't affect us but another customer while we were there) but other than that, we really enjoyed it there.β

βThis venue is absolutely brilliant something for everyone. Had the pleasure of watching couple of Euro football matches in June 2024 it was great atmosphere just as good as the real thing ,without being in the stadium. Also recently watched the Abba tribute (October 2024). A very good group and great time had by us all. I would love to see Pet Shop Boys or ELO tribute acts, hint hint.β
