It’s the glorious trumpet that heralds the arrival of Steve, the man, the myth, the wrap wrangling legend. Steve doesn’t just bring food, he brings hope. An excellent selection of hot food and snacks that somehow taste even better when consumed while leaning against a skip in hi-vis. “Sadly just outside of the delivery range but the food is certainly good enough to merit collection. Food was ready to be collected after 20 minutes on a Sunday, definitely faster than delivery would of been. Surprise of the order was the 'noodles, chips & sauce' selected their sweet & sour and it was really nice to go with the mains. The Salt, chili and pepper chicken and double cooked pork in spicy yellow bean sauce were both really good too.”

“Been wanting to try Lahore Kebabish for ages and it didn't disappoint. The tikka wrap was delicious and a meal in itself, great value. The lamb chops and tandoori chicken are excellent, and I'm so full I haven't eaten my keema naan yet. Strong recommend.”

“Lovely hotel over looking the river Severn, the staff are welcoming and we even got offered a lift to the station from the owner. We stayed here as was far cheaper than Cardiff with Ed Sheeran in concert on and only a 15 minute train trip to the city centre. Yes we would definitely stay here again.”

“Booked for lunch. My wife had Spanish meatballs followed by halibut while I had salad, from the salad bar, followed by the home made beef pie. These were the 2 course lunch specials at £24 each. Both were delicious: the pie especially, with very tender meat, rich gravy and a light flakey crust (no pastry shell). Plus 2 drinks each and two coffees. Total cost £65. Excellent value, and excellent service. Highly recommended.”

Waiters were very kind and friendly and look after you all the time. If you looking for nice place to go in Penarth go and experience yourself. You will not regret it.”

“Me and my family had a lovely visit to the newly refurbished Captains Wife! The food, service and ambiance was all perfect! I would definitely recommend! The roast potatoes were beautifully cooked, I went for the trio and all the meat was so succulent and tasteful! We will definitely be back! “Cracking little pub and has turned around from previous visits. Staff are very friendly and even allowing changes to meals as I don't like BBQ sauce so swapped to hot sauce for my hunters chicken. Very good value for money and a reasonable pace for food. Look forward to my next visit”
