“Lived in Caerphilly 11+ years and have never been here. Decided to change that and went this week. Lovely service. Went for my mums birthday and the range of vegetarian and vegan options were fantastic. Would have liked more potatoes and less veg with the steak and a wider range of sauces, but it was cooked to perfection. Starters were amazing, would have liked slightly more prawns and slightly less tomatoes and salad - for £10.50”

“Delighted to have found this little place. Food was delicious and excellent value, 4 of us ate for under £40. You absolutely must try the sticky rice and mango dessert, a delicious treat and no mistake. Decent selection on the menu including plenty of spicy stuff. Will definitely be back!”

“Loved this lovely snack bar situated on the top of Caerphilly Mountain. From there you can follow a number of trails, taking you on a few Circular routes. We found the cream of the crop when we discovered a World War ii Spitfire that had crashed into Caerphilly Mountain in 1914, there were no surviers, but a memorial has been maintained just off the main trails. We had refreshments at the snack bar and enjoyed. First class service guys.”

“Visited King Balti on Saturday (7th September) and was really impressed. The staff were really friendly and were really good with our children. The food came out very quickly after ordering and it was really delicious. The meat was a high standard with very few grisly/fatty bits and the curries were very tasty (keema rezala especially... yum!). I think we have found our new local curry house :-)”

“Absolutely fabulous meals. We went for my son’s 21st birthday and we were not disappointed Rafi our waiter was superb and when he found out it was Bens birthday he came over with a bag of gifts for him. Thank you we had an amazing experience and the service we received was over and above.”

I have to commend staff they really know how to look after there customers.. spent lots of time with us explaining what was in dishes we didnt know about and were overall very friendly and helpful. “Mama Mia, that is some fine pizza! Absolute first grade pizzas are being made in this little pizzeria in the heart of Caerphilly, and I want to go back to try the different things on the menu. I think one of the reasons the food here is so good is that they use such high-quality ingredients, so even the most simple dishes taste magnificent. Bravo!”

“Took my two Shih Tzu's for grooming in The Pet Shop. They had flea and worming treatment done as well because my one dog won't take the tablets. I feel they did a fantastic job with my dogs as they can be quite anxious. One is more anxious than the other. They gave me good advice about my dogs for their anxiety. They were able to tell me that my dog had an infection in her ear so I could treat it properly. The price was reasonable. They look absolutely lovely, so pleased with they way their fur was cut. Would highly recommend them.”

“Went to Newport Market to try this place after seeing it on Hairy Bikers. After travelling over from Bristol and getting stuck in traffic for an hour I was doubting our decision, but it was definitely worth the trip. The Beef Taco was amazing and my partner loved the chicken one. Everything was so fresh, tasty and zingy. We will definitely be trying their smoke house next.”

“My now wife and I recently got married at New House, and the whole experience couldn’t have been better. The grounds are beautiful, the view of the city is incredible, and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. Breakfast and dinner were also great. The Wyndham suite and marquee are brilliant for a wedding, and the Countess and Marques suites are perfect bedrooms for the occasion. We would 100% recommend this venue for a wedding or just for a hotel getaway.”

“What a fabulous place for all ages, a wonderful selection of animals, pay extra and you can walk among them. A very chatty kookaburra, Ralphy the skunk was a huge hit with the grandson. The lemurs were lovely as with all the other animals. The restaurant is first class, a must visit even if you don't go to visit the animals. This place a gem, I'll definitely be returning. Get your tickets online as it's a little cheaper”

“I ordered a mixed kebab from this takeaway and was really impressed from start to finish. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. The mix of meats including chicken and doner – were all cooked perfectly. Each type had its own unique taste, nicely seasoned, and grilled to just the right texture. The chicken was juicy and tender. The kebab came with a generous helping of salad – everything was crisp and fresh, especially the lettuce and onion. The bread was soft and warm, with a slightly toasted edge that gave it a great texture. The sauces were just right, not overpowering, but added a lot to the overall flavour. I especially liked the garlic sauce and chilli. The service was just as good as the food. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference. They were polite, helpful, and made sure everything in the order was correct. You could tell they take pride in both their food and how they treat customers. It felt personal and professional, not rushed like some takeaways can be. Overall, I was very happy with my order. The food was fresh, tasty, and filling, and the service was excellent. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon – highly recommended if you’re looking for a quality kebab with great customer care”

We completed our walk over Caerphilly Mountain and Trig Point and could see for miles over the Egwysian, Caerphilly, the Bristol Channel, Steel Holm, flat Holm and Cardiff. Loved the walk and the well deserved refreshments at the Travellers Rest”

“We had a fantastic (funtastic) afternoon yesterday here , celebrating our 2 year old and 6 year olds birthday . We were able to book the whole place to ourselves for family and friends and it was superb . Fully air conditioned (which was a godsend in yesterday's heat) The staff were friendly attentive and helped with everything, making it very soecial for us all. It has something for all ages and kept them all happy ( which created happy parents and guardians) great birthday party food too. A place we highly recommend and will certainly use more of .
