“Absolutely amazing place with kind and caring staff , food was amazing , customer service next to none and great humour and couldn't do enough for us !! These people really do care for their customers , it was very heartwarming to see them be so welcoming to an elderly couple whilst we were there , you could tell that made their day you don't see that kind of interaction a lot these days , beautiful souls on Mike and his wife and I cant praise this little bistro / cafe enough ! “Always great service from the team at Fine Wines Direct. The shop and tasting room is a great place to browse and sample their great selection of wines. They also have a great selection of spirits. We recently attended their Christmas wine tasting event and it was a great evening with some brilliant wines purchased. Can't recommend enough!”

“Wow, just came up from London to see my daughter who lives locally, she raved about this pub & it didn’t disappoint. The bar staff were friendly, drinks were perfect, even the locals were nice, but the food? The best fish & chips I’ve had. The others had huge burgers (chicken & Beefburger) which I tasted & were out of this world. It’s a proper pub & I can’t wait to go back!”

“Me and my family had a lovely visit to the newly refurbished Captains Wife! The food, service and ambiance was all perfect! I would definitely recommend! The roast potatoes were beautifully cooked, I went for the trio and all the meat was so succulent and tasteful! We will definitely be back! “The hotel is old and very cooky. The decor is random and old fashioned. It has wonderfully narrow corridors and massively high ceilings. The hotel is far from modern but it's absolutely charming and I loved it. The staff were wonderful and the location was great. Would stay again.”

“Bigger and better than last year. On a scorching June Saturday if your not participating consider bringing camping chair or a picnic blanket to sit down on, possibly an umbrella as no shade. The Aqua Park sell drinks, ice lollies, crisps and snacks at fairly reasonable prices. Water is cold but wet suit isn't necessary if you don't mind colder water.”

“Came in with a few of my friends this past weekend, really great vibe and energy here. We made the most of the two cocktails for £14 and had a couple of cocktails, Pina Coladas, Lemon Sours, Hugo Spritz and two Brambles, which are pictured. They all tasted great and were made at the bar just in front of us so we could see the making process. We shared a few sides off the menu, the truffle fries and tenderstem broccoli between us, which also came out quickly, they were really nice and would order again. One of the waitresses was kind enough to take our picture there, 10/10 would return again for a proper sit down meal.”
