“Had an amazing experience at the salon. Emily did great with fixing my hair, though it was a bit darker than expected, it's slowly fading beautifully. Isabelle also did great with my haircut and did exactly how I wanted it to be, very subtle to keep my length whilst also making sure to add life to my ends. The salon was busy, but they always assured that I was fine and offered drinks throughout the time I was there. All of the staff were very nice. I love that they are thorough and really explained all the processes involved. I do suggest maybe waiting for like 5-10 seconds for the water to get to the right temperature, as it suddenly became very hot on the scalp. Lastly, the playlist was amazing! I really enjoyed the music and it didn't feel like I was in there for hours. Thank you so much blush!”

“Brilliant little zoo! Highly recommend going to all the talks about the animals, highly knowledgeable keepers and entertaining talks too. The talks allowed us to get a good view of the animals that were otherwise snoozing out of sight as the keepers feed them as they do the talk encouraging the animals to come out. It was such a hot day when we went we probably wouldn't of had much of a chance to see the serval and bobcat if we didn't attend the talks/feeds for them. Amazing play areas for children! There's a large indoor one in the cafe and a couple of outdoor ones too. Café food was good and staff were lovely. We had so much fun there, highly recommend going if you're in the area!”

“***review for morgans table*** Family visited today from Cwmbran so we decided to try and book last minute. We were lucky enough to get a table and had a lovely experience. I'm a non strict vegetarian (i will sometimes eat meat products but very rarely eat meat) so was a little disappointed there wasn't any veggie options although chef did say to ring ahead in future! (Useful if you have strict dietary reqs). I decided to try the turkey, the rest of the fam had a mixture of meat and it was all cooked to perfection! So many vegetables to choose from and the roasted parsnips were just amazing! The puddings were lovely although the custard was a tiny bit lumpy. The staff are wonderful, all very helpful and welcoming! We will definitely be back again, this place is a little gem!”

“I have been going to the Highfields for many years, it has an amazing community atmosphere and the people are very friendly. The staff and management are lovely and very welcoming, always ready to have a chat and some laughs. The customer service is excellent. The pub has a large bar, a skittle alley which also has a dart board and a pool table, these are always popular. The lounge has recently been decorated and already hosted some great parties. Highly recommend this pub 10 out of 10!”

“This may seem a strange occasion for leaving a review, but we had the post-funeral wake for my mum at the Ridgeway recently and they looked after us as well as we could have asked. We booked the cold buffet and this was excellent. A range of well filled sandwiches and rolls (we asked for veg and non-veg), quiches, salad, and some delicious delicacies, and then cakes to follow. It was more than enough for the numbers we ordered, even with many going back for more. The service was excellent. A very busy bar was looked after very efficiently by the staff, who were friendly and helpful through the afternoon and evening. No one wants to plan for a wake, but the team at the Ridgeway looked after us beautifully.”

“Went in for a couple of dining room chairs. They were not matching but it really did not matter. They were very sturdy and comfortable to sit on. Found out the price £5 each. The staff were lovely and I am extremely pleased with my purchases. If you are setting up home please do go in and browse. You might pick up a bargain or two. I just put a couple of cushions on the seats.”

“We visited Y Gegin on a Monday afternoon in December for a hot drink to warm us up at the end of our visit to St Fagans. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and there were plenty of tables available. We ordered a cappuccino and hot chocolate and were happy with the drinks and the speed of service. The staff member who served us was very friendly and helpful. They were unable to accept cash payments at the time we were visiting and there were plenty of signs to let people know this. Paying by card was very easy and straightforward, although they didn't accept American Express cards. We enjoyed our drinks and found the prices reasonable (£7.50 for the lot, which is about the same as most high street coffee chains).”
