“Fantastic value from Bancroft. My wife and I needed a place to crash during an NEC event. Having never used a guesthouse before, I was rather dubious. Bancroft exceeded my expectations! Victoria, the owner, was friendly, discreet and helpful. She provided a lovely upstairs room. Three large beds with optional fans for those of us that like air! My wife enjoyed breakfast one day. Excellent value and cooked to order. I will not hesitate to rebook next time I visit a conference. Apologies for the lousy picture and movie. They do not do justice to the establishment. Recommended.”

“I recently stayed at the riverside and it appears to be recently refurbished and modernised. It's been finished to a high standard. The staff were friendly. The food was good. The tv stations in the rooms are endless. The water pressure in the bath will blast it off you. Wifi in the rooms are free and good.”

“Food was good. Probably a really really tasty main course if I weren't vegan. The soup starter was to die for. The portion size was a bit small and a side of broccoli was expensive for the small amount in the side... I think it was £5.50. Drinks sensibly priced. Thai food always has vegan options and the staff were helpful but the menu could have had better descriptions and more mention of plant based options. The service was great and ambulance just right. Overall I spent £26; which was ok although I definitely couldn't have eaten more.”

Had a lovely 3 course meal and had not 1 thing negative to say about it. When again the following but this time opted for the menu rather than Sunday lunch. The staff are friendly and professional, and a shout out to Lilia, only been once before and she remembered us and also remembered that I asked for no peas, that to me shows her quality as I’m sure she had served 100’s of customers over the previous week.”

“It's a nice country hotel with a restaurant and bar area. I spent 3 days here which I enjoyed. My room was nice and clean apart from the odd squeaky floorboard. I did go there on a pretty hot week and the room was hot as I had no AC in my room. The breakfast and dinner food were nice and the staff on-site were friendly and helpful too. There's a car park at the rear of the hotel and you need to register your car at reception on a tablet/ipad.”

Not local to the area, up visiting for a show, so decided to have something different. Fancied Malaysian as I'd stopped off there on holiday once. Starters arrived promptly, presentation was lovely, flavours fantastic. We ordered mains and didn't have to wait too long, a selection of mains, as they all sounded too good to miss, every item was beautiful. So good we ordered extras to takeaway!”
