“If you love coffee you have to try Leicester coffee house! They roast their own beans and use good milk and you can really tell it's good quality coffee. The baked goods are also lovely, my daughter loved the vegan choc cake and I love the carrot cake. We moved to Leic from London which had some great coffees and searched for ages for a decent coffee shop here and this has to be the best we've had! I just wish we lived closer so we could get it more often :D”

“I recently had the pleasure of trying Mad Cook and was absolutely blown away! The food is genuinely amazing. The standout item was definitely the Macon Smash—it was truly fantastic. The flavors and execution were perfect, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. Their tenders were also superb; perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy. To top it all off, the loaded chips were an incredible treat. The star of the show on the side was the cheese sauce, which was rich, creamy, and elevated the chips to a whole new level. “Booked a table for 15 people for my daughter’s birthday. Booking process was easy thanks to the friendly Paige. Great selection of small plates and burgers. The lovely Manager Oillie greeted us as we got seated. Staff were patient with our group as we ordered separately which meant some of us forgot what we ordered! Haha. Everyone enjoyed the food! They ensured that we were looked after. My daughter and her friends had a great time. General vibe was warm and welcoming. Great for families and general customers. “Can't recommend it highly enough. Took my 90 year old grandparents here for lunch to celebrate my grandma's birthday and the staff and food were amazing. The food was delicious, high quality, there were plenty of veggie options, gluten free etc, and it was clearly cooked well and by someone who cares what they're doing. I didn't get the name of the man working in the restaurant but he was so great with my grandparents and they were able to modify the menu to suit my grandma's needs so a huge thanks to all the staff today. We all absolutely loved everything about our experience and we're super impressed. Oh and the birthday dessert for my grandma was a really lovely surprise!”

“Stayed here for one night . Great value, easy check in, clean room , everything you need for a short stay. Plenty of parking . The best part was the breakfast , staff are so happy, cheerful and friendly ! Service with a smile , even a little Christmas sing song , food was perfect ! I love a breakfast made to order, poached eggs at their finest . Made to feel very welcome . Big shout out to Julie and Emma, they were brilliant , their jovial demeanour made a lovely start to my day .well done to both of them, thank you for looking after us !”

“We had the Mediterranean salad, which was absolute delicious! Great flavour, healthy and fillings. Also had the butterfly chicken, which looked super colourful and tasted great too but the peri peri flavour was on the spicier side so caution if you’re sensitive to spicy food, I’d suggest choosing a different favour. Overall, really satisfied with the food and service and will definitely visit again.”

Loved it, as always, a delight to see Pedro and his wine pairings shine brightly, classically, and with personality. Loved the food, with a nice mix of classic JH dishes and some new twists. LOVED the hogget dish, that hit a new high for me. I might have eaten 5-6 breads to mop up the sauces. “Had an amazing afternoon tea with a friend. Our first time in Rearsby and loved the 300 year old pack bridge and our little walk after a fantastic tea. Served on the most beautiful vintage china, with vintage linen and cutlery. That in itself was so special, but what stood out was how fresh the sandwiches were, how melt in the mouth the cakes were and how delicious the overall tea was. The staff were so friendly and helpful and sitting in the room felt very intimate and cosy. I found this place online as one of the best afternoon teas in Leicestershire and it does not disappoint. Really perfect, thank you. I shall be bringing the husband back with me and cannot wait to visit again. Thank you.”
