“Took our football team here for end of season with 20 in total. Magdelina and team helped organise pre order so food was served really quickly, was good quality and couldn’t fault it. Great service, boys were made to feel welcome and sat in area which meant minimal impact on other diners as even though boys were well behaved always going to be a bit noisy. No complaint and huge thanks to the staff .”

“I went to Bar Soba alone, to dine after a concert in Oran Mor, even though I appeared without booking they accommodated. The service was exemplary, they didn't hover and interject they just seemed a lot more intuitive; they came when things were finished or when I looked for assistance. I had prawn dumplings and chicken saté, without exaggeration these were the best of either I've EVER had! The dumplings were lightly fried and had a sumptuous filling. The saté tasted chargrilled but juicy with a slight topping of roasted peanuts and the sauce was glossy and rich. I had the chicken katsu for main, and I'll be damned: in 15 years of dining UK wide I've not had a combination of just enough rice to chicken ratio, which is rare (normally cheaper/shoddy places bulk on rice). The katsu it's self was exceptionally crispy whilst being juicy and visually pleasing! Just excellent food, executed exceptionally. I asked for water to start (normally this elicits a 'eurgh' and rolled eyes) and it was nice, whilst I browsed the drink menu. I had an old fashioned, a chocolate orange coffee martini and a Russian sailor. All were made to be aesthetically and olfactory pleasing! The old fashioned was brilliant, a must! Often people forget to spritz with citrus zest to tie in the bouquet but it was all there! The martini was decadent but not overpowering and the Russian sailor was new to me... Really creamy but balanced. I spent over 3 hours there, wasn't rushed, was expertly taken care of, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The shocker? The bill. I had guesstimated it to be double what I paid. I dine out alone often (especially due to work/commitments) and I find you're normally neglected, it's assumed you'll be a low yield as for purchase and I'd assume tip. It was the opposite in Bar Soba, my service was as great as everyone around me, and even though I was the last person there they never once even instigated me leaving with "would you like the cheque?". I'll definitely be back, new Asian favourite with a killer drinks menu! I really appreciated the service, food, drink and finesse of it all. Seriously, forget the other places in Byres Road, go here even if it's for finger food and a drink.”

“We were there for a post New Year, pre-panto midweek dinner so it was quite quiet, but that was fine. Can't always expect a bustling atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we had no issues with our food or drink orders. Spot on service. Food was great - we had a variety of pasta, pizza and burgers and all enjoyed it, and it was plenty. Sadly didn't have time for pudding. Definitely next time.”

“Fantastic food with amazing customer service. I had an issue with an online order which resulted in me paying twice for my meal, so I came into the restaurant to resolve the problem. The manager went above and beyond to make sure the problem was rectified and ensured I was refunded the extra payment. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. “One of the best food experiences I’ve had recently! The chicken kebab with salad was absolutely perfect – juicy, tender, and full of flavor with perfectly balanced spices. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the kebab. The chicken pizza was also amazing – crispy crust, rich melted cheese, and flavorful chicken. Every bite was a real treat! But the unexpected highlight was the Doner Kebab with chips – the doner was super soft, juicy, and delicious, and the chips on the side made it a simple yet incredibly satisfying combo. Great quality, well-packaged, and delivered on time. I’ll definitely order again and highly recommend it to my friends!”

“XL (king) lamb doner and chips. Lamb doner meat is standard for a city joint, slightly spicy but you can still t aste the meat. Lettuce was a bit old but acceptable, sauce covering good. Chips were standard kebab shop style and well cooked. The bread was large and freshly cooked. What gives this place 5 is the size of the portions, it filled a 10" pizza box and weighed near twice that of what I am used to with an XL. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.”

“We both really enjoyed all our food and the quick friendly service. The king prawn HK style was delicious as was the chicken and mushroom. The satay sauce was spot on, it wasn’t too runny or thick. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The premises is very modern and has a well designed interior. For takeaway the packaging and branding is excellent. We will definitely go back. The restaurant a long the road looks great too. I’d recommend a couple of drinks in Lock 27 then get a i Chai to take home.”

“I ordered a 10" pizza on Just Eat as I left the house. It said it would be a 22 minute wait before I could collect it but it was definitely ready in about 15 minutes. I was greeted with a smile (always very important) and sent off to the wild outdoors with my pizza in hand and a whistle on my lips. It was the perfect temperature when I got home. The base is a lovely. It rips apart well, is firm enough to hold its shape, but soft enough to be delicious. I really enjoyed it. For less than £9 for a 10" pizza I don't think you can go wrong with it! There isn't really an 'atmosphere' since this is not a sit in restaurant. But why would that mean that I should take stars off them for that? So 5 stars from me! For I am honest as the day is long. The outside of the restaurant has seen better days. Someone has recently smashed the glass box on the wall so it could do with a face lift. But what is more important than the outside, or a place to sit my gargantuan behind comfortably? What truly matters is what is inside and they have it where it counts. Right in the yum zone in your mouth.”
