“Brilliant food, excellent customer service, buzzing atmosphere and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.”
“Excellent food and very generous portion sizes. The lady who served me was very friendly, kind and helpful, especially when I told her to warm my Stir Fry Donner, as it was cold, not only did she warm it up but she also topped it up with some more Stir Fry Donner as it was freshly made again. Highly recommended!!”
“Really delicious and authentic food, large range of traditional meals made beautifully, made me feel like I was in Morocco! Such delicious cuisine and lovely to have in Batley!”
“Our first visit after my parents recommended it. We didn't book but we were accommodated straight away and shown to our table. After browsing the menu we chose the two courses for £9.90 . The starter arrived which was delicious followed by a lovely main course. The staff were nice and friendly.”
“Amazing experience at Zucchinis! Great service, delicious pasta, and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back!”

“Not much to say about this place, it was nicely decorated, clean, the staff were very attentive and the free bread starters are lovely as well as the Turkish tea at the end. All of the food is fresh, hot and delicious. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone.”
“Just went to get my autistic son his favourite boneless box meal and then they had a offer on the buffalo ranch meal deal for £3.59 so got them for my other kids. The place seemed clean and also didn't have to wait that long for the food. Great service, nice atmosphere”
“Really nice place and food. Staff were good, toilets available, parking available, halal food, good menu items.”
“Best desi breakfast I've ever had (believe me, I've had many) lol. Everything seemed freshly cooked and not oily like other places. Staff were polite and the restaurant is quite cozy with a relaxed atmosphere. Gonna be difficult to drive past on a morning without popping in. A+++”
“1st time here and I was very impressed. I had smash burgers. Food was lovely, hot and fresh. Nice and clean.Stafff are really friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this place. *****”
“As it turns out, I arrived just as they started serving breakfast and there was already a queue of regulars there. There was a range of foods on offer including fresh bread rolls and cakes in addition to the breakfast fare. You can mix and match what you want by the looks, but I went for the veggie breakfast with toast, fruit juice and coffee as extras. Its refillable coffee and the food was decent for the price. The mushrooms seem to be boiled rather than fried. It is tempting to go get a tiramisu as breakfast pudding.”
“My wife and I have just had our Sunday lunch and we both really enjoyed it.Would certainly recommend a visit.Great service in a relaxed atmosphere.”
“Brilliant expansion to the cafe. Comfortable and friendly dinning experience. Great food, brilliant prices especially considering the cost of living crisis. Come all the time.”
“The only place you need for burgers and shakes! Angry Angus smash burger was flavoursome with plenty of caramelised onions. Strawberry milkshake was thick and fresh with actual strawberries. The owner doesn’t skimp on ingredients and it shows in the quality of the meals. Golden doughnuts with a choice of sweet toppings rounded off an excellent meal.”
“Calledcin as saw this on fb a good range of curries available and nan yourgart poppadoms and chapatis also chicken tikka. Ixed starters etc only a small shop but was busy when I called in”
“I hadn't had fish n chips for about a year, after my local put me off. Kirkhamgate was recommended to me, the chips were lovely soft and fluffy, and the fish was nicely cooked with light crispy batter. The cost was a little more than I used to pay but it was worth it.”
“Just had a lovely little visit with my son. Really friendly and welcoming staff/owners and delicious food at such a fair price. The large sandwiches were huge and the cake was a hit with my toddler :) A local little gem! We’ll be back.”
“What an absolute gem of a find! I had a full English breakfast and it was fresh and it was tasty! I met 2 friends here, and that was perfect, there is one large dinner table, dressed like it was the one at your parents house in the 90's. There is also some window seating and some benches outside when the weather is slightly more agreeable. Clearly a popular destination as there were plenty of 'yokshur' folk coming in for bacon butties and B.E.S.T. A running theme being people in High Viz and rigger boots ready for the days graft. Parking wise there are a couple of spaces out front, as well as on street parking. Proper salt of the earth place, would recommend!”
“Beautiful food. We got a variety of food i.e jungle burger, cheese burger, chicken burgers. Staff are so nice and considerate and welcoming. Would highly recommend to everyone to please try and visit this geeat place.”
“Love the fish and chips here. Always time for a chat and it’s a great local chippy. No silly prices either.”
“I was so close to giving up on finding good pizza in Wakefield. When the top-rated options are Pizza Joy, a takeaway using frozen bases, and Papa John’s, a mainstream chain, it’s hard not to lose hope. I had. But I gave it one last try—enter Basebox. This is the best pizza in Wakefield, and honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the UK. I’m not sure what “style” it is, but I’ve only found something similar once before, all the way up in Durham. If the quality stays consistent, this will be my go-to pizza spot from now on. My only minor criticism is that the dip pots are a little too small—one barely covers a slice—but at 75p a pot, I can let that slide. Congratulations, Basebox, on beating the odds.”
“Such a cozy gem. I stopped by for breakfast and was genuinely impressed. The vibe is warm and welcoming, the two gentlemens super friendly, and the food… absolutely delicious! I had their breakfast plate with eggs, toast, and a creamy flat white Their coffee was smooth and rich, perfect for a slow morning or takeaway ☕ Whether you’re catching up with friends or just treating yourself, Cafe@Number1 is the perfect spot to start your day. Can’t wait to go back!”
“Walked in just after it opened Waiter came quickly and sat us down and asked how we were. She recommended some dishes. Very knowledgeable staff. She was called SUMI. She knows her stuff. Very intelligent welcoming woman. We ordered the Korean with egg fried rice. Chicken dumplings. Malaysian butter chicken, Black pepper beef noodles, volcano sushi. Now let me tell you about the Malaysian butter chicken dolloped ontop of a crispy baby paratha. This was next level, would come back just for this. Volcano Sushi was genuinely really nice and crispy, easy on thr tongue. All in all, this place is legit, and defo recommended for people who want a different taste to your usual burger and pizza. Blue lagoon was spot on. Not too sweet. It was perfect”
“Been coming to Bangla for over 6 years ! Honestly, hands down, the best quality curry I’ve ever had. Also excellent value for money. Whether it’s takeaway or eating in the restaurant the food and service is always amazing !”
“Jem’s Pit Stop, and Batley, West Yorkshire is an American themed diner. We were driving to Birstall and thought to stop for a a bite in the afternoon and when we were read the tweets but reviews we didn't believe there is place like this in Batley so decided to try it and we weren't disappointed but glad to see it. Look at the photos that will explain it. It took us a long time to explore the place and see the motorbikes and hidden treasures of the place. Then we headed to our table to eat and that was good a very good menu plenty varieties for different diets and people of all ages. The staff, service and quality of food all great.”
