“Been to this pub a few times now, mostly weekday lunch with partner or friends...lovely food, good size beer garden with plenty of seats, dog friendly 1 room inside and the garden. Staff always friendly, park over the road in the recycling area ... definitely plan to come for an all day lunch in taxi before summer out ...”

“Always enjoy our meals in here. They offer a gluten free menu, prices are decent, broad selection of drinks. Good friendly honest service. Have come a few times now both at lunch and tea. Kids loved playing footy outside in summer. Can be busy but it's a great pub so it will be. Prefer sitting outside with dog as its less noisy, hot and crowded for them. Highly recommended.”

“I wouldn't go to buy a kebab and any other fast food from anywhere. Else in golborne than here the food is amazing and you really do get a large amount for your money and the Atmosphere is great my number one kebab shop love it”

Ribs are amazing and lots of meat on them. Love the Singapore vermicelli which they make extra spicy for me. And the hot and sour soup is perfect”

“The best quality shawarma in town and surrounding areas I ever eat in. Service is amazing you feel there to be a guest not just a client. They have a very nice range of shawarma dishes and special homemade dinner dishes. I love this place and the people who work there. They share mutual trust with orders and payments (you pay after you eat). That's simply a very good and cosy place to go alone or with friends and family.”

“Was in the area for work but used to live locally and remembered this place , I bypassed other closer chippy's to revisit here and it was just as good as I remembered. Wide variety, the fish was great and cooked fresh to order so slight wait but worth it . And there even serving gyros now, I didn't order but another customer did and it looked great. Staff were friendly , tbh server was very attentive and professional...it made a difference Will be back again”

“Held my daughters 21st party there. Hired the room upstairs. Its not massive but held our guests without it feeling like there were groups dotted around the place. Staff were fantastic. Really friendly and professional. Well recomended by us as a place to host small to medium parties.”

“Not been here for years, called in last week what a change!! Lovely little pub, friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in, barstaff advised on a wine and she was spot on, crisps sold, no food although unsure what other snacks are sold, there was a comment about no meals served but I say if it's not broken why try and fix it? The reviews speak for themselves! Will definitely be calling in next time I'm in the area....ps. dog friendly too.”

“21ST MAY 2025. Wandering Wednesday’ took Hubby Neil and I, just a few miles down the road in Lowton to…….. ‘The Travellers Rest’, there are so many places we have passed over the years and never ventured in side, as we’ve always tended to eat on our door step or simply returned with the pubs we liked….. this is definitely one of those pub ‘Gems’ that we have missed out on over the years….. inside the decor is tastefully done and the restaurant was pristine. Our servers today were Destiny, Dylan, Catherine and Kay, they were all very polite, smiley, professional and attentive, they gave a great all round service….. also a big shout out to the chefs in the background, your food presentation was perfect, all the dishes were delicious and piping hot….. Thank you, you are all massive credit to this establishment. Staters: We both had the same, which was Crispy Black Pudding & Bacon Stack, served on a Bubble & Squeak cake and drizzled with a creamy peppercorn sauce, garnished with pea shoots…. Entrée’s: Neil had a fillet of Salmon, with asparagus, lay on a bed of mixed salad, along with hot new potatoes and all drizzled with a creamy dill dressing…. I had: Homemade Pie and Chips….. Chicken, Bacon & Vegetable pie, served with triple cooked chips, accompanied with seasonal vegetables of tenderstem broccoli, sliced leek, green beans and proper thick, rich gravy…. The pie was filled to the brim with big chunks of the filling and again everything was piping hot…. So tasty. We shared sliced white bloomer and butter, even the bread was light and fluffy! So the question is? Would we go back???? At the drop of a hat!! 100% YES!”

“The best Takeaway Indian in Warrington. The stir fry kebabs are class. Every curry dish I’ve tried has been top notch (favourites are Jalfrezi, South Indian Garlic chicken & Balti) Girlfriend always gets Chicken Tikka Masala or the Korma and is always pleased with them.”

“Needed some proper food close to M6. Fed up with motorway services rubbish. This little chippy is literally 5 mins off the M6 & has good parking. The guy serving was pleasant, portions good, and the Cod & Chips were great value, hot & tasty. Would use again & definitely recommend to others!”

Eaten from here on multiple occasions and everytime has been outstanding, my previous meal was rated 3 star based on quality but was dealt with professionally by members of staff and I've just had the same meal to allow a fair review and it was absolutely stunning, this place Is definitely worth going, not only for the food but the customer service is of very high standard.”

“I had a wonderful dining experience at The Partridge after a walk around Marbury Park. The staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming. They were also very accommodating to us with dogs, staff also giving them a fuss and a biscuit each (we had 3 spaniels), which created a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Overall, a lovely meal and an enjoyable visit. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend the ‘Partridge buddha bowl with added Halloumi’ which tasted delicious.”

“What a great find! We arrived 8.45am Saturday morning... To a fairly typical older style open airy (plenty of seating) roadside cafe. Receiving a pleasant welcome we ordered coffee and a teacakes each.... In the time it took me to walk next door to Londis/petrol station and back for paracetamol the coffees and teacakes arrived.... Teacakes we're fresh and tasty with real butter... The coffee was dark roast good tasting and perfect strength. Value was excellent, other establishments easily £3-5 more. Casting an eye over the menu... Bearing in mind everything is freshly cooked, it was very good value. Other reviews criticing value surely cannot be comparing like for like. When I popped next door for the paracetamols the londis fuel stop included a Starbucks and Greggs, why on earth would anyone consider pre packed, long shelf life produce? Support the independents....”
