“This was my third visit to The Kings Head in Sevenoaks within just a couple of months, and there’s a very good reason I keep coming back. I travel all the way from Farnham, which is a 50-mile trip, but it’s absolutely worth it every time. I’d probably go further if they asked nicely. The pub has everything you’d hope for from a proper village pub. The building is beautifully traditional, full of character, and in the summer the garden is a genuinely lovely place to sit and unwind. The staff are consistently excellent, friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in making people feel right at home. There’s also a solid selection of real ales and lagers, which never disappoints. My first visit was at the tail end of summer, when I sat in the garden for lunch and was instantly taken with the place. A couple of weeks later I returned for an evening meal and was so impressed that I decided to relocate our annual family remembrance gathering here. We came as a group of 11 for lunch on Saturday 15th November, and even though the pub was very busy, the service was faultless. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and had a great sense of humour, which is essential when dealing with our lively family. The team here didn’t flinch. Even though the pub was busy, service stayed top-notch and dishes arrived far quicker than I expected. Miracles do happen. All the dishes we ordered arrived promptly, and every one of us commented on the generous portion sizes (a rarity these days!) and the superb quality. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. I had the cod stew with chorizo and crispy kale, which was an absolute standout — beautifully balanced and bursting with flavour, like a little firework display in a bowl. I followed it with an apple crumble and custard, which met the approval of even our most serious crumble connoisseurs. And, to top it all off, the bill was a very pleasant surprise. It’s refreshing to enjoy food and service of this standard without feeling like you’ve been mugged on the way out. The Kings Head is a place I genuinely love. Traditional, welcoming, great food, great staff, and great value. I’ll happily keep making the 50-mile journey, it’s become a firm favourite of mine.”

“Hidden Gem In Putney I recently visited The Arab Boy and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere of the pub is cozy and welcoming, a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was simply divine – crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, just as it should be. To complement my meal, I enjoyed a pint of Guinness, which was perfectly poured and served cold. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that everything was to my liking. “I loved the atmosphere of this pub. I was there last Sunday to try the Sunday roast. When I arrived, it was almost impossible to get a table as the place was packed, but the staff were very friendly and quickly found a spot for my wife and me. When we placed our food order, we were told it would take around 20 minutes because many tables were ordering at the same time. I went for the pork belly, and my wife chose the roast beef. We were pleasantly surprised when the food arrived much faster than expected , the portions were generous, and everything was absolutely delicious. I must also highlight the gravy and apple sauce, which was fantastic. I’ll definitely be going back with family and friends!”

“Food was good and the staff friendly (Elise-sorry if I’ve misremembered your name). The place was clean and comfortable with easy parking. There was a small delay with the food being served at that particular time due to a wake being held in another private room but we were kept informed and apologies were offered. Would recommend The Chelsfield Arms.”

“Absolutely beautiful pub! From the stunning wooden beamed exterior, to the quaint delightful interior, the Blackhorse, is exactly how a pub ought be. The menu options are fantastic, with options for kids and adults alike. So something for everyone - even fussy kids! I love visiting the Blackhorse, with my partner and teenage kids, and we always have a wonderful time, and have created some amazing memories there over the years. Really love the variety of food and snacks available on the menu. They cater from meat to seafood and veggie options. I was really impressed with the cauliflower and leek croquettes, really tasty (this is coming from a person who isn't a fan of cauliflower) and the truffle honey chicken wings were amazing. Slightly disappointed with the falafel as it was a bit too salty. The pork belly was well presented and generous portion size for a main. Slightly chewy. Had a taste of the baby squid, that was delicious and well quicked and also the lamb skewers I recommend.”
